Nice stay of main road up the mountain in beautiful wooded area

Location up the mountain in quiet wooded area. Corner room recently updated was nice.

I never asked so this could be wrong but my room and it appeared others, didn't have AC in the room so many like me would leave the door open to let the hallway AC air come in to cool the room. My room had a unit on the floor that might have been an AC or maybe an air cleaner, I am not sure - but it didn't turn on anyways.

Room was clean, brekfests were delicious, hotel feels very cozy and hotel staff makes in even better.

The staff in the hotel is amazing. Guys were super helpful, they gave me rides few times, recommended some places. And in general they were talkative, which was very nice. I traveled alone, and I was happy to chat with them.

Thin walls between rooms, so sometimes you hear neighbours.

The location is quiet nice seated in the woods and closer the iwate and hoop cable car

There are possibly some room for improvement 1. Have a toto bidet to be inclusive of all habits 2. A bit flexibility in the breakfast menu specially for kids

Loved the relaxed and family atmosphere with plenty of community hangout space and even a kids and game room that our little ones loved. Staff was also incredible helping us with travel plans before and during our stay and even set up a baby cot for us and helped us arrange a babysitter. The property had bikes that fit everyone in our family and even SUP’s available for rent. Snacks and beverages were available for purchase and breakfast was wonderful and included. Location was very convenient and also relaxing in the woods. On location private bath and dryers were a huge plus. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone who likes a relaxed vacation experience.

We wish the bar was open on busy days in the summer! It says open on Google but it is only available in the winter.

All the staff are great and friendly and welcoming. Penke Bar is so fun and breakfast is great there! Stayed here twice and the rooms + facilities are top notch. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great breakfast spread! The property is well furnished and the staff speak English.

Love the cozy and warm atmosphere of the lodge. Close to the slops. Breakfast was amazing. All staff members were so friendly and helpful. Room was bright, super clean and spacious with towels provided. Bathroom was clean with nice communal hot bath. Good quality in house rentals. Free shuttle service was convenient; pickup and drop off on arrival and departure. Would definitely come back!

Very good

The house interior is very well designed and has a warm atmosphere, it feels like Christmas and makes you want to stay more. Everything is super clean and comfy.

The parking is a bit small. Somebody parked in front of my car and I couldn't leave. Fortunately the staff was quick to get it removed, but I can see this happening again. My room was nearby the living area so it might be a problem for some people because it's a bit noisy.

We had a great stay and would love to stay again!

The room was nice, the breakfast was delicious, the staff were wonderful and very friendly!

The mattresses were firm and the stairs were a bit steep. But no real complaints.

A short, but excellent stay in Penke Panke (hosts and the place are just fabulous!)

Everything was just fantastic, I stayed only for 1 night, arriving late, leaving early next day, but all ~8 hours of the stay was just excellent. The host - Justin and his team are very nice, attentive, even allowed to have a breakfast earlier than 'official'. The whole atmosphere in the lodge is just as at home, nice lounge, with a lot of homely stuff, a place outside of the lodge for 'small chat' or a cup of coffee is just wonderful (with a lot of 'creatures' from tales hanging around :). A small 'onsen' was a bonus, both in the evening and early morning. The host proposed to meet us at the station, and also drove me to the station early morning. Rooms are clear, nice, comfortable. Would definitely come back! :)

One should realize that the lodge is a bit outside of the main part of the town, if proximity to the town center is important. However, this might also be considered as advantage - it's a quite place, in the woods, overall I can confirm the place is just excellent!

Amazing people, really kind and attentive. Great breakfast. fans and air conditioning units in the room. small but useful communal bath, common areas with tables, cutlery, hot water, coffee and some instant food available.

the toilet in our room was small. some moldy smell in the room.

Felt like home

It is a great place! It was my first time traveling alone and I really enjoyed my staying there. The owners are very nice, the welcoming is very warm. Would definitely recommend Penke Panke !!

Excellent place to stay!

Staff there were all friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and it was great to spend time with other guests in the lounge area, so as spending time alone in the room. Everything is clean and well equipped. Breakfast sandwich that staff made was great. Excellent place to stay and I’d love to stay again!
