Our stay was kind of at a chaotic time due to possible hurricane so some things that normally would have been put out around the pool were not out but the SPI staff were great in helping with this. The house in which we stayed was very nice, hardly in issues that could not be corrected easily.
As I stated above the SPI staff at the office and the maintenance personnel were all very polite and helpful. We will definitely use SPI next time we are to stay at South Padre Island.

Sadly, it’s extremely challenging to find a house in SPI on the beach that isn’t managed by SPI. The front office staff are always unhelpful. The properties lack in simple items such as washcloths. Be prepared to pack everything except your kitchen sink when you stay with SPI.

The staff were very helpful, friendly and the house was clean on the inside and stocked as advertised. The outside and pool area looked like I would have imagined at the end of summer not the beginning.

Feedback for the VRBO:
Bedroom in front of the house upstairs; bedroom frame is very noisy, so loud that each would wake each other up through out the night just by rolling over.
The beds fitted sheet doesn't fit the bed. Constantly having to put the sheet back on
The ceiling fan in the same room squeaks constantly. Due to being unbalanced.
Dryer took forever to dry anything. Believe the vent for the dryer needs maintenance done.
Cookware was inadequate for cooking for large groups. Reminds me of hand-me-down cookware. Really cheesy.
Dishwasher was broke the whole week. I find it hard to believe that it couldn't have been fixed.
Bottom line the refrigerator needs replaced.
The back door slider needs replaced. Not much of a ocean view with a window that is obscured due to a seal being broke.
Uneven pool patio tiles are very unsafe. I had one incident of tripping on one of them.
Great place just needs some good tlc....

The view, the beach, all were great. However, the pictures were not recent. The sliding door to patio was very difficult, and even with “fix” didn’t work well. And unfortunately, condensation within the panels of glass ruined the beautiful view. And also, we asked for more kitchen towels as we cooked most meals and they wouldn’t provide.

Very much love staying at this private place in SPI. There was a little trouble with our booking when we arriving there was someone already staying at the place we rented, but the problem was fixed, and the manager let us stay in the same neighborhood, which was perfect. I am looking forward to coming back again.

We had our grandchildren and all they wanted to do was swim. You advertised a heated pool. We called every day to SPI as the pool was full of sand and freezing. The pool maintenance finally came the day we were leaving. Place is kind of run down. One living room chair had a leg off. Rust marks all over. Bedrooms and bathrooms were super nice. Loved location and the beach was perfect for walking.

It was great place we enjoyed our vacation to the fullest!! It would be nice if you get your cleaning crew to do a little more cleaning the restrooms weren't very pleasant other than that everything was great!!

Great house and location. Entire family enjoyed and we had all ages. Only thing it needed was an outdoor shower or easy access to water to rinse off sand. Would definitely go again.

Great location right on the sand, near a beachfront bar and grill, and umbrella and chair rentals. Lots of room inside with more than enough bathrooms. Easily sleeps 12. The only negatives were: the pool and hot tub worked intermittently, and the sliding doors were very difficult to move.

Our family fully enjoyed this beach house as we celebrated our son graduating from medical school. The house was spacious and accommodated all of us in a warm environment! Loved the beach front access and pool/ spa the most. We will return and recommend this property!

The staff was amazing!! Maintenance was on top of things, very quick to respond. The reason I gave above average not excellent was a few little things. There is a cement tile missing from the hot tub. There was a bunch of wires hanging out of the wall in the closet in the downstairs bedroom. The storm shades were covering the window in the master bedroom blocking the view from the bath tub. I just think for this type of property those should have been taken care of. It would also be nice to have a mop and dust pan to help keep the floors clean from all of the sand. Other wise we had a wonderful stay!!!

Such a relaxing home away from home! There were a few things that we shared with the property manager when checking out and he was very happy with our feedback.

We spent summer in a similar house ,but Christmas at this House and is way better. We love the location, everything worked perfect( appliances ,etc) , although was frozen outside ,the house did not even need heater ,is perfectly insulated for winter in front of the beach. My family and I were very happy and enjoyed the holidays without any problem.
The house and its kitchen have all we need it for a big family dinner, and made spectacular views for our unforgettable Christmas reunion.

We enjoyed our stay, the place met our needs, had private bathrooms (a plus). The pool was great for it gave my grandchildren option if not wanting to go to the beach. We would love to come back.

This house is perfectly situated for everything you want to do in SPI. This was our second time to rent this unit due it's location and size. We have 3 kids and 3 grandkids and they love the fact that the house is on the beach and it has a pool and hot tub to keep the everyone busy day and night.

This beautiful home made quite an impression with our trip! Once you walk in, you have an amazing open space and great view of the pool and ocean in the background. The house is just STEPS away from the beach with its own private boardwalk to the beach.
Kitchen is modern with a drip coffee machine (no keurig coffee maker, so bring your own if you are a fan) so bring your coffee filters and coffee grounds. OR, there is a cute coffee shop literally a block away, CAFE KARMA, that many in our household enjoyed each morning. TIP: The Viking refrigerator has a lip on the right door that will rip if you open it first. ALWAYS open the fridge with the LEFT DOOR FIRST, followed by the right door. If you open the right door first, it could tear the plastic seal resulting in poor temp control. I suggested to SPI Rentals to put a sign.
The bedrooms were spacious considering there are 3 of the 5 bedrooms have King beds. Each bedroom has their own private bathroom. A half bath is on the first floor, great for use when you are in the pool.
There is a hot tub by the pool but we could not get it warmed up. We did request an order and SPI Rentals were VERY QUICK to come in an address. We were told to use the panel inside the house and not outside by the pool pump. Despite being shown how to "turn it on", the hot tub did not heat up. I advised the management company to consider putting written instructions to use.
The house is literally one lot away from WANNA WANNA bar/restaurant. We made sure to enjoy that every day were there.
Despite these hiccups, we enjoyed the house very much and look forward to going back!

There is no access to the garage (just an FYI for future renters) and they do not provide beach towels or any kind of beach chairs / toys. I was not aware when I made the reservation that SPI provides a shuttle service from Harlingen Airport. Had I known, we would've utilized that service and rented golf carts instead of rental cars from the airport. All in all, it was an awesome trip for all four families, and I would definitely rent this unit again! South Padre Island provided a fun family vacation with lots of activities to do and visit, and we will be back soon!

There was a problem with the hot tub. We lost electric in the entire house because the breaker needed to be replaced. The ground fault outlets stopped working because we had 3 hair dryers going at the same time. The house was not very clean. It’s really a shame that so many of these issues occurred and greatly inconvenienced our family vacation. Michael from SPI Rentals was quick to address most issue, however, most were not able to be resolved. Service people were at the home at least 5 times. Parts were on order and not available Compensation was given. The house really needs a “vacation” from renters to be brought up to standard.

Wonderful Family Vacation
Overall great stay with extended family over five days. Had a few maintenance issues which were responded to quickly. Great space to spread out as well as good space for family time and games. Hot tub was nice despite cooler temps. Beach views were great. Very low water pressure especially in master suite upstairs, so recommend the lower floor bedroom if you want a little higher pressure. Great location -close to SPI birding center and turtle rescue as well as restaurants and stores. Thanks for a great time!

We stayed at the town home with my college classmates. The unit is so spacious, the amenities, the location are impressive . My friends who came from different states are so impressed. On the last day of our stay, one of the drawers of the dresser got stucked . I called the office and in less than 15 minutes , maintainance staff came and fixed the problem.I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Six of us stayed here for a girls trip. The location and view are unbeatable. We loved being able to hear the live music from the bar and grill next door while we were in the pool area as it wasn’t too loud. So nice to have that privacy wall but still have a wonderful view of the gulf.
The only negative is how very little the condo comes with in terms of towels and supplies. For the cost, I really don’t understand why they wouldn’t at least leave one trash bag per day of rental. We were there 4 nights and went through the two bags they left us by the second day. When I asked for more they basically said no! Luckily bar and grill next door was willing to give us some.
Also wish they would supply enough towels to be used in the pool area. They did, however, bring us a few more kitchen towels upon request. The rental company is the only reason I’m giving this a 4 star instead of 5.

This was a wonderful house, set right on the beach, which proved to be the perfect location for our annual family beach getaway week. We had complete privacy for family time and were conveniently close to any amenities and shops for any needs that came up during our stay. Additional non-beach activities and sights were also close at hand to provide a wide range of things to do over the week we were vacationing. We thoroughly enjoyed the warm waters and seasonal temperatures and would happily visit again.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Home was very clean and beautiful. Great location and plenty of space for 3 families that stayed here. We would definitely stay here again.
