About this cabin rental

Discover the magic of the Smokies in this hand built, rustic log cabin perched on Eagle's Nest Mountain high above the quaint town of Waynesville. Enjoy our beautiful four and a half acre mountainside setting with pond, stream, seasonal gardens and mature hardwoods. The cabin, with its perfect location in a cozy, secluded setting, sleeps up to 4 people. Downstairs, the master suite has a queen-sized bed, roomy closet and attached bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower. Upstairs, the open loft has two double beds and bathroom with shower. Relax inside by the stone, wood-burning fireplace or outside in a rocking chair on the wrap-around porch. Additional amenities include a fully-equipped kitchen, wi-fi internet, TV/DVD, CD player/stereo (with speakers in the main room, master bedroom and front porch) and land line telephone. The recent addition of a fire pit behind the cabin adds further opportunity to relax. Waynesville has long been known for its picturesque small-town charm. You will find friendly people, great shops, restaurants and tree-shaded benches to sit on and rest a spell. In season, ole ‘timey street dances and annual festivals fill the little town with excitement, but with none of the hassle of crowds and honky-tonk typical of “tourist traps.” There is so much to do while you’re here. Explore the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Pisgah National Forest or the Biltmore Estate. Ride and hike the Blue Ridge Parkway. Golf down the road at Laurel Ridge Country Club, raft the Nantahala, ski Catalouchee, ride horseback…or simply kick back and watch the traffic at the bird feeders. Amazing stay. Cabin was exactly as advertised and extremely well equipped. We did not take full advantage of all the amenities provided. The owners thought of everything. It was very private, yet very convenient to the area. The owners were very helpful in recommending places to eat and go. The cabin is dog friendly, which was a big plus to us. It was a winner and a place we will return to.

Where do I begin? You pull up to this awesome gate as you ascend up the driveway. My wife and I both said wow! Gorgeous cabin on the middle of a mountain. We were greeted with a great bottle of wine and two glasses. Beautiful living room, kitchen, loft. All the necessities provided. Really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night. Minutes away from the Main Street! I booked last minute, and the host was wonderfully accommodating. I hope to be back again!

Just got back from a 2 night stay at this lovely cabin in the woods. Communication from the host was so easy and inviting. We explored the town of Waynesville at the start, knowing that lots of rain was coming. We spent a wonderful relaxing day in front of the fire, reading and wathching movies. The sound of the rain on the roof and trees was wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked so it made meal prep easy. We rent alot on VRBO and I appreciate the little things in this rental like lots of outlets, extra towels, cozy throws to curl up with, supply of firewood, extra hooks to hang jackets, and towels, etc. Wish we had more than just 2 nights to spend in this cozy home.

The location of Eagles Nest is perfect. Conveniently situated close to Waynesville, and a short drive to Blue Ridge Pkwy, Maggie Valley, and Smokey Mountain Nat'l. Park. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable, relaxing getaway. The fireplace works beautifully and having the wood provided was a wonderful bonus. We enjoyed our stay in this quaint log cabin.

We use VRBO quite a bit. This was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Mr. Truant takes the extra time to make sure the experience is top notch. This will be our “go to” cabin in the Waynesville area for now on.
