A HISTORIC RESIDENCE
Amid an abundance of restaurants, cafés, bars and markets, you'll be able to have a comfortable home! This is the 3rd floor of a building constructed shortly after the San Francisco earthquake and fires of 1906.
The front room has a queen mattress, redwood headboard, desks, wardrobe, and two large windows with a view of Coit Tower and Washington Square steeples.
The second room has queen bed with an antique bed frame powder coated red orange like the Golden Gate Bridge. It also includes a desk. Enjoy the Alexander Signature Hybrid mattress by Nest Bedding (perfect blend of pocket coils and memory foam)
The third room has a couch that converts to a very comfortable queen bed with a foam topper or can be used as a living room. There is a TV with Netflix and internet capability, a large window, and the bedroom is lined with restored original redwood trim and an art collection.
The fourth room is has a ful-sized bed with a view including Coit Tower. My partner Aaron and I custom made the bed, headboard, bedside shelves, and cabinets. The cabinets include a standing desk, vanity, 3 general shelves, and a drop zone for glasses, wallet, and such. The bed is raised up and has a small ladder.
At the end of the hall is a sun-filled kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a gas range and oven, fridge, and various kitchen tools to make home-cooked meals. (Whether you check out the abundance of produce markets around the corner in Chinatown, gather cheeses and meats from Molinari Delicatessen on Columbus, grab some organic produce on Grant Ave a few blocks away, or choose to walk to Trader Joe's or Safeway - you are surrounded by delicious ingredients!) The bright dining area is a wonderful place to enjoy some coffee and breakfast before heading out for the day. Or feel free to just use the dining table as a desk/work space, and take advantage of the litany of restaurants, cafes and bars in all directions!!
As mentioned above, this building is from the early 1900's and has some unique features that have been added over the last 100 years. Walk through the kitchen to a small room with windows to the ceiling. This converted porch was probably once used for drying clothes and now has a bathroom sink. Through another door is the bathroom with a toilet and shower/bath. This may not be your usual bathroom experience, but you are visiting San Francisco after all and will get a glimpse of the historic nature of SF homes.
The bathroom includes a make-up mirror, blow dryer with a diffuser, cotton balls, q-tips, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs and a few feminine products in case of emergency.
The house doesn't include a clothes washer and dryer, but there's a laundromat a half block away and laundry supplies are provided.
Abundant Parking Options:
There is free street parking in the neighborhood. Most of it has a 2 hour limit between 8am Monday - 9pm Saturday. So, you can park for free in a spot from 7pm in the evening to 10am in the morning before you have to move. Since the time limit doesn't apply on Sunday, you can leave it from 7pm Saturday night to 10am Monday morning for free.
There are also parking meters in the streets immediately around the house. They are enforced Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm. So you can park for free from 6pm to 9am and all day on Sunday. After that, it's around $2.25 per hour which you can pay at the meter with change or a credit card, or from your smartphone with an app called PayByPhone. You can even pay in advance for the first 2 hours of parking in the morning the night before by using the app.
With any street parking or meter parking, *please* be sure to read the *signs* and the *parking meter* itself for any limitations such as street cleaning hours.
There is a parking lot right in front of the house. It costs $15 for each 12 hours. If you use the car during the day then you could just pay $15 for the night. Or you can park in the lot during the day for $15 and park on the street for free at night if you want to.
You can also park in a number of nearby parking garages. There are 2 parking garages a half block away on Vallejo. The Vallejo Garage charges $3-4 per hour. The North Beach Garage charges $4-5 per hour. They have an "Early Bird Special" where Monday through Friday, if you enter between 4:30am to 9am then exit before 10pm, the Vallejo Garage charges $18 and the North Beach Garage charges $20. They both charge $36 for 24 hours. So you could park in the garage during the day then park on the street for free and save $16-$18. They are open 24 hours a day.
The North Beach Garage 735 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133
Vallejo Street Garage 766 Vallejo Street, San Francisco, CA 94133
There is a parking lot across the street at 626 Green Street which charges $11 until 7pm.
The Powell Street Parking garage is usually $12 for a weekday from morning to about 6pm. The price goes up in evenings and weekends, however as stated earlier you can park for free in the evenings on the street. They close between 10pm and 2am depending on the day. So you could switch off between the garage during the day and street at night and save money if you wanted to.

Sarah's place is so charming with a new sweet view every time you turn your head. But Wow the location! I can't believe how quiet it is when it's right on the border of North Beach (Italian town) and China Town. Restaurants, City Lights booksellers, financial district, trolley stops, fisherman's wharf. If you're here to visit SF, you can walk out the door to pretty much everywhere you want to see. Truly the only reason to get in a car is to go to Golden Gate Park.
Sarah was so generous as a host in every way. She called to talk to me in person because we booked on short notice. She was an excellent host and we dropped our bags off early and stored them late.
I will definitly stay again!

Sara was wonderful. Commumication was outstanding. If you need anything at all, she will redpond quickly. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathroom was complete with all amenties (shampoo, handsoap, plenty of towels, etc.) The location is right on the edge of chinatown and central to all the main attractions. For us, the best part was a no fuss chechout. Sara takes care of everything for you. All you need to do is make sure you get your stuff out and return the key. You do not need to strip the beds. That was wondrful. We have been to places that required lots of work just to check out. Thank you so much Sara:)

We stayed here between Xmas and new year’s, 2023. Location on border of Italian and Chinese neighborhoods is a food haven. Each of our 3 teen/young adult kids had their own bedroom, a great situation to have. Only 1 bathroom was a challenge but we knew what to expect. Sara (unit owner) was responsive to texts and came out to check on a toilet on Xmas — her hospitality is boundless. Wonderful place to stay, highly recommended.

This VRBO is a great place to stay. Walking distance to the pier. Lots of restaurants, coffee places nearby. The apartment building is a piece of SF history and the interior highlights the artistry of its owners with beautiful handcrafted cabinets, furniture and art work. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds comfortable. Sara is helpful, accommodating and responsive. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a fantastic stay in SF! This is an eclectic space that was perfect for my daughter’s 21st birthday celebration with 3 bedrooms & a sitting room (that has a pull out that we used as a 4th bedroom). The location was ideal and is right in the middle of Little Italy & we had everything we needed & walked everywhere. Sara, the host, is phenomenal & the best host I ever worked with! She bent over backwards to ensure we had a great trip and was so accommodating. I’ve never left a review before and I just can’t say enough about Sara & how welcomed she made us feel. And what an artist! Her wood art is exquisite & adds additional depth to the space. Thank you, Sara, for a wonderful time!

I sent my team to stay for an event at Pier 39 and compared to the hotel night per room pricing nearby this is a wonderful option with plenty of space for each team member. Great communication with the owner and we would send them there again. :)

Great location, great hosts
This property is ideally located in the SF North Beach area. Plenty of Italian and Asian restaurants nearby. We attended a conference in the Moscone center and enjoyed walking back and forth every day (about 25 min). The hosts were really helpful in helping us get into the house/apartment and even offered to let us keep our luggage for an extra day (Sunday) while we visited the Moma on Sunday afternoon. Great house, with all amenities and conveniences.

Simply the best
This was the best apartment rental experience we've ever had. Beautiful arranged place in a fantastic location plus an amazing host who went above and beyond to make our stay special. Everything was perfect and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Our number one place to stay in SF, we will definitely come back :)

Harry Potter fans!
Came here with a group of 8 + a baby to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Had a blast! Great location, walking distance from tons of food. We tried to eat at Mama’s for breakfast but the wait was insane on a Sunday so ended up eating maybe the most delicious food I’ve had at Park Tavern! Definitely would recommend this VRBO!!!!!

Super Convenient
This is a super great property in the heart of the city. There are tons of walkable food options. We even had some excitement with a police foot chase right in front of the house! (There is a police station nearby so we felt very safe.) Notably, there are convenient parking options immediately outside the door, with a parking lot that offers 12-hour parking and nearby street parking that is free overnight. Staying at this property is like staying at a friend's home; Sara made everything available to us, like toiletry items and pantry items that we might need. We would stay here again and we highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a comfortable home in walking distance to so many great sites!

We travel a lot and have stayed at many vacation rentals. That’s all they were - rentals. Sara’s place is a home. It has everything. Feels like visiting a relative. Sara is a great communicator and always makes sure you are taken care of. Location is great. Chinatown to the right and north beach to the left (if you standing outside). Fun to walk around.

Wonderful home
Great communication with Sara, everything we needed for our short stay. Just a short walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. Sara provided lots of information on what to do and where to go, very helpful.

Elegant well-equipped jewel in middle of San Francisco
We were a little worried when we had to enter through an alley but the apartment was a jewel. Furnished and clean with a well-stocked fridge and even cut flowers to greet us. We were very comfortable and walking distance to all the touristy sites we wanted to go to. The owner was accessible for questions and very kind. Wouldn’t recommend if you had a toddler due to stairs and some clutter but it was an excellent find in the city.

Great stay!
We very much enjoyed staying at Sara's place for a short weekend getaway. The location is very convenient to restaurants, to the Embarcadero and various other SF attractions. Sara was very responsive and accommodating--a terrific host! Her place was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for our stay. The place also has a lot of character--very unique and interesting property! For noise-sensitive folks, we would note that there was a little street noise in the front (for 2 of the bedrooms), but got mostly quiet around 9:30pm or so. The other 2 bedrooms were very quiet. Highly recommended!
