Lovely couple and lovely building. I stayed for a good nights rest during Boom festival and had a great sleep. Woke up to amazing views, a nourishing breakfast and traditional music being played by the host.

The guesthouse in the small village of Pinha Garcia was quiet and charming. Our hosts were very hospitable and helpful, offering us restaurant suggestions ( not easy on a holiday weekend!) and places in the area to see. The host played some lovely tunes on the guitar he made in the morning. Beautiful breakfast.

This is a unique house, hand built by the owner, Sr Pascoal, who is also a talented guitarist.
The welcoming feeling of the accommodation, and the soothing smell of the natural wood instantly soothe you as you arrive. There's a terrace, which is accessible to all guests, with a stunning view over the countryside.
We would also recommend booking a massage with Sra Isobel. It was the highlight of our break.
The house is clearly signposted from the main road, you should enter from the west of the village and there's parking for 4 or 5 cars available, and a pretty garden. 15 minutes walk from the natural river swimming pool and fossil trail. A very relaxing stay with lovely hosts and a tasty breakfast.

We loved our stay at Casal da Serra. The family suite was beautifully decorated with lots of attention to detail. We were served a beautiful breakfast accompanied with guitar music played by the owner Pascoal. THE castle, dam ,walks and moinhos are no more than a 10 minute walk away and it was a wonderful start to our day after our delightful breakfast. Should you want to visit Monsanto, we would recommend you stay in Casal Serra in Penha Garcia, visit the sites there and then follow up with a visit to Monsanto .

This place is beautiful, smells great, has amazing views and the owners are the sweetest. They even played us live music on a homemade guitar with our breakfast. Could not recommend higher.

Everything really. The house, the way we were received by the owners. Unique in each detail.
Today at breakfast, we were very lucky to have the possibility to have a private concert from the owner, who played and singed a couple of songs.

Casal da Serra was an extremely pleasant surprise. The hosts are as helpful as possible, the location offers beautiful views over the region, including nearby Monsanto, the breakfast is also very good. This family business was built by the owners with great care, attention to detail and is very well integrated with the traditional local architecture. It is also very well located, within a short stroll from the castle and fossil trail. Highly recommended!

Actually nothing. Maybe one little suggestion: during the day, when the report of the sun is hot, hot, hot, there is not a serious place to sit outside in the shadow. But that is really there only thing we could find. For there the rest, one off the best places we experienced in our 35 years traveling around.

The house is amazing and the owners were spectacular. Just an incredible place that you will never want to leave. The room was comfy and very nicely decorated, you'll just want to explore the house and see all the little details. The breakfast was also really good and the staff was always available to help. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Penha Garcia.

Everything! Building construction was done by the husband and was beautifully done. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom even had a towel heating rack. Great terrace that overlooks the spectacular view. Easy to visit Monsanto from there. Wonderful breakfast.

Our family room was listed as having a city view and a garden view but there was no view. one skylight and one window that looked onto a terrace where people walk by.
