Charming cottage in a beautiful location

Lovely well-equipped cottage with super comfy bed.

Would have been nice to have a throw/blanket downstairs for warmth in the evening. Although a log burner was advertised as part of the property there was no fire-lighting kit or wood left out (luckily we had brought our own).

Over all I would probably rent it again

Very close to peak cave 150m, not to far from villige centre and all shops, all in walking range 10-15min

Old walls little bit chilly, but heating works great when needed, little bit dark , only one window in living room and it’s where tourist walk

A wonderful tiny cottage, perfect access to amazing hikes in the heart of the peaks.

The cottage had everything we needed for a perfect weekend of hiking. Loved that it was dog friendly and although parking is not directly outside it works well as the streets are not full of cars.

Not directly about the property, and we should probably have done more research, but we did not know we were in such proximity to Devils Cove where there were rock concerts on each of the nights we stayed. It was quite loud meaning the evenings were not as peaceful as we expected for the location.

Excellent walking trails. Fantastic day out on the mountain bikes. Lovely meals out.

Fantastic location. Allocated parking in a car park with a permit. Pure relaxation.

A freezer would be useful, but, not essential. Also a DVD player; again not essential.

Romantic hideaway in a beautiful location

Beautiful location, cute and comfortable property, well kitted-out, good decor, and easy to access (there's a key safe, so no worries about arrival times). It was ideal for us as a romantic home base on our hill-walking trip, with extra useful things like boot dryers that made our lives even easier!

Nothing to criticise! It's up a steep hill, and there are steep stairs inside, so it would be less suitable for someone with mobility issues.

Beautiful place, beautifully kept.

I found the steep stairs difficult. It would have been impossible for someone with more mobility problems so it should be mentioned in the description that they are very steep cottage stairs unsuitable for the disabled.

Lovey little cosy cottage in a good location within Castleton

good location in Castleton, very pretty cottage, cosy and well equipped, very comfortable bed.

stairs a little steep, obviously, it is a cottage! Just didn’t think about this at the time of booking. Also no real outdoor space to let the dogs out early morning/late evening.

nothing could have been better

perfect stay for a short get away to this beautiful area

they had forgot to put the heating on before we arrived so it was freezing in the house

Reasonable but not amazing

The key box was wide open on arrival. Overall I felt this place was adequate but not amazing. It is essentially the space of a studio flat, and given the price of it I didn't feel it represented great value for money. We had friends staying in another house in town and it was much nicer and well appointed. The living area was a bit drab if I'm honest.

Cosy but modern cottage in a beautiful location.

Great location, free off site parking but room to pull up outside the front door to unload the car, lovely modern interior including a very nice shower and a really comfortable bed. A little cold at times but the heating was easy to use.

Nice cosy little cottage situated in the village. Short walk from the car park. Towels were of a good quality. Bathroom and bedroom were nice.

Bit disappointing there were no matches or a lighter to get the fire going. The front door was draughty so a draught excluder would have been good.

Recommended to family

Loved the Location No secure garden to let the dog out but really enjoyed the early morning short walk around the village hall with my dog as the sun was coming up over the hills and a stroll in the darkness of the evening, so peaceful.

When can we go again?

Me and my partner had the most amazing 4 days away. This cottage was perfect, it had everything we needed! So so cosy and great facilities. We had planned to go out for a couple of evenings which we didn’t end up going out as we were so comfortable and the local pub ‘Ye Old Nags Head’ did takeaways. If you have availability and want to go to the Peak District, book this cottage!
