Room was old but clean.

Motel has check-in using mobile phone. BUT this does not work if your mobile service provider does NOT have any signal at Longreach. Only Telstra is out there. Luckilythere was a pay phone 150m down the street.

Manager was able to relocate to better premises

The location of the motel to the main street is convenient. It was good to have a toaster to use at breakfast time.

The room was not very clean. The toilet when we arrived was full of dead insects. The bed was on rollers and kept rolling away from the wall. The pillows then fell down the back of the bed onto the floor where they became dirty as the floor hadn't been cleaned there. Dirty linen left on the table outside. It was cool and there were no blankets on the bed. The accommodation was expensive for the quality of the motel. For what we paid you would expect 4 or 5 star rating.

The king sized bed was comfortable and itcwas easy walking distance into Longreach. The keypad door entry was easy to use and the WiFi worked well.

The curtains were old and gappy and there were no bedside tables. The bathroom ceiling looked mouldy and the room was overpriced.

We were extremely disappointed and after speaking to the manager we were moved to the Albert Hotel which has been recently renovated. the Abajaz is to be renovated eventually and definitely needs it. $300 a night was an appalling amount to charge.

Location would be the only good thing going for it.

The room wasn’t particularly clean - carpet needed a good vacuum. Dusty light fittings, dirt in the corners,poor lighting and few windows to open for fresh air , only a couple of power points ( for recharging). The whole place needs refurbishing and tidying up.

Food on the floor, cobwebs, no hot water in the shower. Chair as bedside table, if we had any problems we had to go off sites to another venue , no staff on site.

I liked being able to check straight into my room without all the reception stuff. I liked that the aircon was on when we arrived.

The aircon was great, and it is located in a good position, it also has shaded parking.

Lack of Customer service. We requested an early entry, as otherwise you can’t get in until 4pm. No response. You need a code to get in, we arrived, but didn’t have it. We rang, and fortunately the phone was answered, he argued that he sent it in the morning. We ended up receiving it at 6.30pm-over 4.1/2 hours after we arrived. He gave us a code, however, it didn’t work. Rang again, we were given a new code, which worked. Unfortunately, the beds had been used, wet towels on bathroom floor, dirty bench….he said we could go in room next door. Room was clean, apart from the bugs, both alive and dead. Also had an incessant dripping tap…We had booked a room with two double beds for a very specific reason, due to a hospital stay, however, neither room had this. We had also requested a quiet room, didn’t happen. Curtains don’t cover windows, so lights get in. Sent him a message, zero response. Not even extremely poor customer service…there isn’t any! No staff on site, and clearly don’t bother to read what customer has booked and paid for. My mistake was not reading all of the reviews beforehand. They have a site advertising all of their rooms, but manager said that they don’t have rooms like that, and blamed booking.com.! However, rooms were identical, just bed configuration different. Very overpriced for what we got, which wasn’t what we had booked. I would not recommend staying here, or the other motels run by the same people. We were the only ones staying here, obviously, others knew better. They have a ‘Not there, don’t care’ policy.
