Despite the road we had a wonderful stay and will return soon.

Great farm location, wonderful views and outside space with plenty of parking. The accommodation was really nicely furnished with a lovely mix of old and new which we loved. We found it a very welcoming home to relax in at the end of busy days out exploring the countryside.

Ideally for us the large bed downstairs needed to be higher. The mattress itself in my opinion was well worn. We found the potholes on the last half to three quarters of a mile up to the farm challenging.

It was pleasant but could have been more comfortable.

The beds were all uncomfortable and need new mattresses. The shower in the bathroom is poor and not only doesn’t get very warm the head needs replacing. As the living area is upstairs it would be useful to have a stair gate available in the property.

Remote and beautiful farm stay.

Beautiful, remote location on a hillside farm in Derbyshire. Cosy cottage, nicely decorated with everything we needed. lovely walks in the stunning countryside surrounding the property or a short drive to some interesting villages like Eyam, Bakewell or Chatsworth house.

Very pleasant experience in a lovely location with beautiful scenery.

Well furnished and welcoming cottage. Good location for walks by the river.

The two mile single track access road could be a problem for some people. However, we only encountered one vehicle in three days!!

Cottage was home from home with everything you need for a group stay. Location was perfect in the village.

Good location for a walking holiday.

Location was great and properties comfortable. Beds were excellent and generally very clean and incredible warn and cosy. we had a good family weekend. Thank you.

We did not stay in swallows return because it was double booked but Host gave us Tom boys cottage and Wolfscote cottage instead. It worked for us and we just about had room from the 5 of us around the dining table by moving a bit of furniture. Hosts were good and rang us before arriving to explain the situation. The property was a little awkward for us in the we have an elderly dog who struggled on the wooden curved stairs but this feature made the cottage easy to look after. It would have been good to know in advance that they could prepare food we would probably have used this if we had known.

Lovely and peaceful

Beautiful views! Excellent access to many great walking trails. Nice and peaceful. Our daughter loved seeing the calves and lambs and the farm dogs. Wish we could’ve stayed longer!
