Falsely advertised as an air conditioned unit, rude manager.

The apartment was advertised as an air conditioned apartment however there was no air conditioning in the living areas and the air con in the bedroom barely works to cool down the bedroom let alone whole apartment. Upon contacting the Manager with our concerns she stated that none of the one bedroom units had air conditioning and her alternative solutions were not acceptable and refused to refund our money.

Good location for between main attractions.

The room was located at the back of the property overlooking the pool and tennis courts. It was fairly quiet as it was away from the road. There was a good amount of space in the unit.

Upper level units are accessed via stairs which became tiresome when lugging our bags up and down. It could be an issue for people with mobility issues. Would have preferred a less transparent privacy screen to the next apartment where a woman was regularly having phone conversations on her balcony just a few feet from us.

We went and stayed at the islander for a friends wedding weekend. It was the perfect location and the apartment was well

Pleasant

Location - close to a few eating places.

check in process - did not have key in the key box and got the wrong key initially. Make sure your check-in is during office hours to avoid any issues. I arrived finding key box outside the office empty as the key was left on the office desk inside and tried to contact the out of hours mobile which were directed to the voicemail and never got any reply. In the end I got the key and the person was helpful but the process was stressful as I was thinking we might need to sleep in the car for the night! Other than that the stay was good.

Dissapointing

Location is good. Grounds are nice. Quiet

Room was not as advertised photographically. Room decor needs some attention. There was an un-desireable smell in the room which we could not work out where from. Possibly bathroom drainage. Thankfully we brought a scented candle which partially masked the smell. Washing machine or sink drained out onto floor of bathroom, had to mop up the excess water, we were unable to ascertain source of leak. Maintenance issue.

I wouldn’t book again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

No much to like.

They didn’t have car parking, didn’t notify or was clear before checkin. Their solution was on the street parking, difficult if issues with mobility issues. Didn’t have lifts, I was travelling with someone who isn’t comfortable taking the stairs. Didn’t even have lighting on the stairs (the emergency exit - path) No smart TV - sometimes have SBS coverage issues not all the time (if they had smart tv - would solve this) The walls are super thin can hear everything happening next door. Couldn’t find the Wifi and on checkin they didn’t provide and couldn’t find staff to ask, because of the time of hours

Just perfect for us for the weekend.

Check in was easy and manager rang us to say that our room was ready before time and we could book in earlier than expected. Lovely host. Very clean and super comfortable. Good value for money and centrally located within easy walk to coffee shops, bowls club and hotel.

No staff on hand if needed assistance. Quality Room for the price was to much. No power points at bed side & to charge gadgets & for lamps. I feel the room looked very tired & in desperate need of an upgrade. When booking the pictures showed a balcony but it didn't deliver so deception in advertising. You need to be more open & honest.

Needs improvement

Facilities were great, pool and gardens well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful. A sound property that has the potential to be a strong 3 star motel, but is just too rough around the edges and needs a solid updating inside. Great for families and food location.

The apartment was very outdated and needed some love. Filthy stained couch with black mould that ran in the carpet, walls and sheers. Needs aircon or fan in main living area as top floor apartment so very hot. Cockroaches were everywhere at night, made you feel rather gross. Curtains or blinds needed throughout which would also assist with the heat, and privacy. TV teeters on an old wooden table, wouldn't take much to put on the wall or get a bigger table. Only 2 instant coffees for 4 day stay. Finally, there were trades working most of our stay and came in and out of apartments over the 2 days which was frustrating with a toddler. Car park is also very tight and on 2 occassions we were not able to use it as the roomkeepers had put their cleaning trollies in there. Fridge also appeared to not work for the first 12-24 hrs but cooled eventually, might need replacing. And lastly, the wifi modem is in the main bedroom right next to your head which isn't great for sleep. Not a moan as such, but room for improvement and would stay here again if there was a bit of effort put into tidying the apartment up. Staff were great :)

Perfect place to stay when visiting Straddie

Although a little dated, the accommodation was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed for our two night stay. The swimming pool is lovely. Extremely good value for money.

Lovely low key and quiet and in a great location if you have a car

Tranquil

Wonderful stay. The staff even before arrival were considerate and helpful. The room was a good size, very clean. The location was excellent. And we enjoyed the facilities, the pool and tennis court. Everything I needed was in the room.

great weekend & staff very friendly

Went for a weekend with family & had a good time, room needs updating but was comfortable. There was games in the room.

Wifi was limited on the island. Room needs painting & curtains replacing.

Lovely stay in older style resort

Great spot in the middle of the way to the Point Lookout cafe/icecream area. You can definitely walk if you bring the right shoes and watch the time of day. Bus stops very close. Home Beach is across the road and up/down a bit. Close to bowls club for the weekend markets, the lovely cafe for breakfast/lunch and the Mexican Cantina for dinner (we never made it to the lookout this trip!) - which was an appreciated recommendation on check-in. Room was lovely and great to retreat back to in the heat of the day. Had everything we needed. We were a couple and enjoyed our stay and I can see how it could be fun too with kids. Next time might have to try the tennis court!

A Blissful place to have a relaxing holiday with our young family.

The gardens were beautiful and the whole atmosphere was just like staying with a old friend. The room was huge and beautifully updated with the times.

Our only negative was the stairs, but it did give us some good exercise.

Pleasant and clean in a convenient location.

Very clean and a great location. Pool and tennis court were great for kids. Well equiped kitchen. Apartment was spacious and had everything we needed.

Would have been nice to have some softer linen like a nice soft duvet. We only had a sheet and blanket on the beds.
