Romantic birthday

It's always a pleasure to stay and we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Hunstanton. Every .member of the team are friendly, welcoming and attentive. The level of service cannot be beaten. The hotel is in a prime location with ample secure parking. The hotel is recently decorated and is tasteful and stylish, it's spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The food is well cooked with quality ingredients. The bar has a great choice of beverages at a very reasonable price.

Having to leave to come home!! We have already started to look at our calendar to book our next stay

I really wished I had booked a different hotel

I really liked the bar/lounge area. We ave been in the area many times but this is our first time staying there.

Our room was really small and had too much furniture in it. There was a huge dirty finger nail on our carpet and the website said the rooms are airconditioned but they are not. The windows only open a small amount so it was hot and muggy. We could also hear all the noise from the arcade until late in the evening,

Nice comfortable stay

I like the Seaview from my window and the bed was comfortable. Would use the gold line again. Many thanks to the staff who work there

A mattress too far

Fantastic location with great views of the sea.

Everything was fine with the room EXCEPT for the mattress, which was totally knackered. Why on earth wouldn't they replace it?

good location Good, good room and facilities, bad view, poor paid parking area, no lift.

Breakfast OK but pricey. Not included in room rate. Only had 1 Breakfast on 1st day. Bathroom facilities brilliant. Lounge good. Parking extra and not good. No parking bays and very limited.

Our room overlooked the bins. The parking was not free and very haphazard. Really could have done with a lift.

Lady on reception was lovely and tried her best to help . She waived dog fee and 5.00 bar bill

Excellent location and dig friendly have stayed before . Lovely staff and nice relaxing bar area . Loveky breakfast . Comfy beds.

Heating broken in room so was given extra duvet and oil heater. No parking space as agreed . Not on ground floor as agreed . Tried to add additional fee for dog not previously mentioned . Dinner was awful

Good price. Staff were friendly. Clean and comfortable room.

When in the restaurant the staff were slow taking my order. At breakfast I had to wait ages before my order for a cooked breakfast was taken. It was assumed I was going to eat something before my order was taken. I didn’t eat anything after I had collected my coffee. I had to wait quite a while in the evening before my order was taken or I could pay! Other than that the food was good.

A lovely stay at The Golden Lion - we would definitely stay again.

Lovely room with wonderful view. Large bathroom with bath as well as shower. Good sized towels. Heated towel rail so towels could be dried between uses. Breakfasts and evening meals were all very good. Good beer at a reasonable price! Slight problem with blown fuse - dealt with really helpfully by lovely night manager and daytime Receptionist.

Would have liked a little packet of biscuits to have with morning tea/coffee. Everything else was great!

Nice enough stay, great staff but small things need to be done to update it.

Great location, beautiful old building. Lovely staff.

The hotel needs updating.Our bathroom in room 115 was very dated and had a few things broken that cuold be easily fixed ( plug not on chain, toilet flush button missing, cold tap top missing and a really old and shabby blind in the window. In the restaurant at breakfast we noticed some bits of food left on the floor from the evening before. This is a lovely building with great features, a little bit of investment and care it could be amazing .

One night stay - wish it could have been longer.

We upgraded to a sea view room. It was a very large room and the view was lovely. Hotel is very central to the beach and attractions. Restaurant service was good and we enjoyed the breakfast.

My granddaughters and I had a great time and breakfast was first class.

The 2 rooms both had sea views and were very comfortable and clean. My superior romm was huge and well appointed.

Some staff quite miserable, particularly the bar!

Rooms were very dated, you could hear people talking no sound proofing any all very loud, creaking floorboard and toilet hit the door as you open it.

Superb

Location is excellent and all the staff were incredibly helpful and kind. Rooms simple - but have everything you need and wifi works great. We were travelling with our dog and he was welcome in all areas except restaurant (you could eat in bar though). Finally and very grateful for this, but when we had to cut trip short, hotel was understanding and only charged us for nights stayed! Amazing!

Parking is a bit limited on hotel Premises, so we had to pay for parking behind theatre across the street. We liked our sea view but please note in windy days - will make some noise as wind hits building/windows.

Lovey stay by the seaside.

My husband and I and our dog Mutley stayed at the Golden Lion as we needed a base for a few days whilst we visited some childhood memories The hotel is very comfortable, dogs are welcomed the only area that they cannot go in is the dining room. You can leave your dog in the room whilst you go to breakfast or you can eat in the bar area. Breakfasts were buffet style for cereals and pastries etc. Hot breakfast items were cooked to order, were tasty and very well cooked. Main meals were traditional pub fare, but good value. Our room was very comfortable, and was serviced every day. All the staff were really friendly, helpful and welcomed Mutley!! There is a car park for the hotel at £6/day, but there is free parking directly outside, you just have to be patient and wait until a space is free, but that was never more than a few minutes Top tip - We dumped the car and used the excellent bus service from the terminus in town using the coastal service to get to Kings Lynne and to have a good look at the countryside This is a well located hotel close to good beaches (old Hunstanton a 25 minute walk) and to drive out. We had a lovely stay here, I would fully recommend a stay here.

Loved it

The staff were extremely helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble, even with our dog. Room was very comfortable, large and great shower. Breakfast excellent, great dinner menu and we’ll stocked bar.

Great hotel!

The hotel was lovely, the views from hotel are superb!! Reception staff amazing, from arrival we were made to feel very welcome. The room was specious and very warm.

Breakfast! Very everpriced, coffee was awful, tasteless, becon hard, vegan sausage also dry and overcooked,same pouched egg. I wouldn't buy breakfast again, as massive waste of money.

Surprised that bed was not made during our stay. Queried this with reception to be told it was because we left our PJs on the bed - never experienced this before!

good location but dirty rooms and no communication from the hotel

location was ideal for what we wanted/needed

I emailed them asking about where to park, what time we could check in and what time the restaurant was open, they didn’t reply and when we got there we were told the restaurant wasn’t open and was only doing bar food. the room wasn’t clean and have taken pic of why.
