Basic, friendly

-Several cottages around an large garden with a nice swimmingpool, on a compound you won't notice from the street, behind a building. The garden is well-kept, the swimmingpool probably the main attraction here. It's all a bit in hippie style. -Our cottage offered basic comfort (we had a small one). Aircon in the bedroom, a fridge, microwave. Some basic cutlery. Rather crampy, but ok for us. -Wifi ok, no parking on the compound but on the street, should normally be possible within 100m. -Supermarket: 5 min. walk. Some pizzeria's within 10 min. walking. -Lovely beaches in Terrenia, a 20 min. ride -Owners are friendly

-It's all a bit outdated -Realize there are several dogs and cats running around freely. It didn't bother us, but will not be appreciated by everyone -You will have to travel to vist places like Lucca and Pisa, and traffic is dense. Count for Lucca a 40 min. ride, Pisa 15 min. -The swimmingpool is deep, not for those who can't swim. -Our bed not for persons > 1.85

Comfortabel en rustig verblijf op een steenworp afstand van Pisa.

Fijn, groot appartement in een mooie, rustige tuin, met zwembad.We konden gratis voor de deur parkeren. We hebben de bus, die een frequente dienstregeling heeft en erg goedkoop is, genomen naar Pisa.. Geen parkeerstress!

Exceptional

Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere, remote location with no nearby bars or cafes. Local supermarket easily accessible. Super gardens with orchard and lovely pool. Apartment very clean and private. Oven and hob were perfect for self catering, bbq available although we did not use it.

Pool was quiet for us all week so had no issues with sunbeds, but feel that more sunbeds would be good as it would get full quickly if other guests decided to have a day at the pool. Was perfect for us using the bus/train for occasional day trips but be aware that there are no local attractions so you do need to use public transport or have access to a car. Lush gardens + heat = mosquitoes, so take some bite cream

all in all, a wonderful experience

the accommodation is big, clean and well equipped, the area outside is large, green, peaceful and quiet, the pool is clean and the pool area is the best I've seen so far

mosquitos ... but what can you do about that :)

Superb

We loved the owner, Ivone - a fantastic person. Her animals (dogs, cats and a bunny) were visiting us - we loved it. The swimming pool and the garden are spectacular. Great transport options, if you don't want a car (buses to Pontedera and Pisa, trains to Viareggio and Florence). There is a great supermarket nearby (Penny Market) and a lot of small shops with food and bus tickets. The house is well equipped, so you can even cook or bake for yourself (plus you have an iron). For eco people - they are recycling, so you have got 5 bins in the house. The place made our stay pleasurable. We will definitely come back.

The only thing that was negative, was too little privacy between the appartments - i could easily see my neighbours and they could see me. The son of the owner brought very loud guests over the weekend that took over the swimming pool and were behaving inappriopriately, but that wasn't the owners fault.

What I was looking for

From the outside is just an ordinary villa. Stepping inside and you will be in a incredible place. A huge Italian garden, with gazebos and big trees. You'll see a small dog, three cats and a rabbit all roaming free. At the centre is a decent size swimming pool for a swim during the warmest hours. Common areas were quite and relaxing. Perfect for reading and have your own privacy.

Nice complex but not a great location

The complex is nice, the outdoor areas are good but so many mosquitos.

The location was quite frankly awful, there’s nothing to see or do in Cascina, and very little to eat too! Without a car it’s impossible to do anything. Kitchen is ok but no cooker or condiments to use. If you want self catering and a lounge by the pool you’ll be fine, but even for us the weather was bad the whole time so we couldn’t swim or do anything. Good thing we had a car.

unreliable internet connection, not a good option for business travelers, ok for romantic couples

Pool was nice and green area pleasant. The mother who lets you in and gives you keys is very friendly, though it seems any "business" aspect, such as payments, etc. are all delegated to the men in the family.

Very poor and UNRELIABLE internet connection. :( On my first of 3 stays there, I had to convert to an expensive phone call w a S American client when zoom did not work, Continuous buffering when trying to stream. Even at 2nd and 3rd stays, AFTER work done by their technical person, the connection kept going and coming. For my 2nd time, I got a NON working TV, they came and fixed it in the middle of dinner but would be more organized if they did a quick spot check before people come to correct these issues. On first stay, son came by for payment late and in middle of dinner. It seems the very nice mother "doesnt have the training necessary to know how to use the pos machine to take a credit card payment" (this was the official excuse). It seemed they really needed a handyman to fix things, but son who is a lawyer and works late very day in nearby Pisa told me that in this small town (Cascina) where they are from, "you can trust no one". I went out and unloaded suitcases, etc from my car as I had foreign plates.
