Enjoy the cozy atmosphere and comfort of this two-bedroom Seal Cove home, a classic family retreat with a spacious lawn and a wonderful location close to the ocean and the breathtaking trails of Acadia National Park.

This single-level cottage sits on a grassy, tree-lined property just one mile from the tranquil banks of Seal Cove. It's also only two miles from Seal Cove Pond and the eastern border of Acadia, six miles north of the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, and 17 miles from the restaurants and shops of bustling Bar Harbor.

Step inside this quaint country cottage to find an open layout, hardwood floors, and charming homestyle decor. Return home from a day of hiking or kayaking to relax in the rocking chair with a good book, or play a board game with your kids on the plush L-shaped sofa.

Take a morning walk to photograph the lobstermen in Seal Cove before preparing a homemade breakfast back at home in the full kitchen. This open space is equipped with plentiful cabinet storage, a gas range, a dishwasher for easy clean-up, and an eat-in dining table with space for the whole family.

Spend the colorful days of autumn playing tag with your kids on the grass or fishing for bass and perch on the shores of Seal Cove Pond. You'll also have a flatscreen cable TV, Blu-ray and DVD players, a stereo system, and a collection of movies for fun-filled evenings at home.

With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, the Lucky Stone Cottage can accommodate as many as six guests. The blue main bedroom offers a queen-size bed, as well as a futon that provides ample space for a child. The second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed, while the living room features a sofabed. The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.

Whether you spend your days hiking, fishing, or whale-watching, you'll find a washer/dryer in the bathroom to help refresh your wardrobe. WiFi is also provided to help you post photos of your family adventures.

Thanks to its scenic location on the western shores of Mt. Desert Island, Seal Cove is a wonderful place of both serenity and convenience. You'll be just a short drive from the most iconic trails and landscapes in Acadia, including the Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail (19 miles east), the vertical ascent of the Precipice Trail (21 miles east), and the Ocean Path Trailhead at Sand Beach (23 miles east).

Stop by Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor for a delicious homemade breakfast or make an afternoon pit-stop at the Jordan Pond House for lobster stew and a plate of popovers. Just be sure to visit the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse at sunset for one of the loveliest views on the entire island.

Overall the place was alright. Unfortunately, the listing doesnt describe how damp and musty the house is. There is a dehumidifier which i emptied at least twice a day and we kept windows open to try and ventilate it. I really hope the homeowner can address this issue or at least put it in the description. It could be a real problem if someone has allergies or asthma. I wont stay here again

What we liked: quiet and away from busy Bar Harbor, fully stocked kitchen with all necessary cooking supplies, Hodgdons restaurant just .6 miles away (a must!), fun Monopoly games, PlayStation, and a bunch of family movies. What we didn’t like: smelled of pets, microwave didn’t work, smoke alarm batteries were dying and would not stop chirping, the drive to the sites we wanted to see in Acadia was longer than we liked after hiking all day.

The house looks small from the outside, but the open floor plan for living room, kitchen, and entrance made it feel just right. The accommodations were nice except we could only find 2 kitchen towels and no big trash bags. There is an IGA grocery store less than 15 minutes awsy which is handy. We loved going to the Seal Cove Automobile Museum just down the road a few miles on a rainy day and checking out the quiet side of the island. It was a great location for us. We loved exploring Acadia National Park. Our kids refused to sleep in the bunk bed because part of the ceiling was coming down there maybe from a leak at some point. The windows were tricky to open. The de-humidifier was a big help. There was dense fog during our stay, so without it, it would have been extremely muggy.

The house smelled moldy and musty - we had to air it out for a full day. Kitchen was very nice and well appointed. Living room furniture was a bit cheap and saggy - you would fall into the couch and it was hard to get out of. The bathroom was a little run down looking and needed a deeper cleaning - cobwebs in the corners and dead bugs on the ceiling. Beds were comfortable but not much room in the closet and no dresser. Outdoor lighting was inadequate- no light near the step and the light at the door was an LED that took a while to warm up and turn on - not helpful. Overall it was an okay and inexpensive place to stay for a few days.

The house was a great option. Plenty of space and all the necessary amenities. The advertising of the space was truthful and accurate. It was quiet and not in the hubbub of the Bar Harbor tourist area which was great.
