Sunrise to sunset, Esmeralda Del Mar (EDM) features breathtaking scenic views of the crystal clear emerald and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. Completed in May of 2017, EDM is a Tropical Modern design family home located on the beach, five miles North of San Pedro Town on Ambergris Caye and a ¼ mile from the largest barrier reef in this hemisphere. The home was custom designed and built to be a memorable place for family and friends to relax, have fun, catch up and share life's special moments.
The Main House features two floors and three spacious outdoor living and deck areas (there is even a rooftop deck!). The top floor welcomes guests with an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, a master bedroom with an attached luxurious bathroom, a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious living room, dining room and an executive office*(see note below), all with an ocean front view! This home was designed with outdoor living in mind, so the top floor includes 800 square feet of deck for your enjoyment and access to the rooftop deck. The Rooftop Deck offers a stunning 360 view of the Caribbean and the surrounding Island (A perfect place to gather at sunset or sunrise!) The first floor features an open floor plan and two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room and dining area, all ocean front views. In addition to the indoor living space, there is 700 square feet of deck space, a private pool, deck, and walk-out beach access.
The details of Esmeralda Del Mar are unparalleled. Each bedroom suite door is hand carved by local artisans, and each king bed is handmade with Belizean mahogany, accompanied by memory foam mattresses and luxury bedding. The large bathrooms feature hand painted double sinks and large walk-in closets offer ample storage. The kitchens are generously appointed with stainless steel appliances and high-end, plentiful kitchenware for groups who enjoy the option of cooking or cooking together. The living rooms feature entertainment centers. The top floor includes a 65” Samsung Smart Ultra HD Flat Screen TVs with a Sonos Sound Bar and the first floor features a 60” Samsung Smart Ultra HD Flat Screen TV with a Bose Sound Bar.
A separate private Casita, within steps of the Main House, is included. The Casita features a bathroom, queen sized bed, kitchenette, living room, Smart HD TV and covered porch. This beautiful addition to EDM is nestled amongst the palm trees, with an ocean view for your enjoyment.
Both the Main House and Casita are air conditioned and have ceiling fans throughout. Property is served by a central purified water system (so you can drink the water!). Guests also have access to a washer and dryer for convenience.
For your enjoyment we have three kayaks, two bikes, two stand-up-paddle boards, on site for guest use.
EDM offers complimentary pick up service at San Pedro Airport upon arrival.
There are over a half dozen restaurants/bars within a 20 minute walk along the beach from the home and at least a dozen more within a 20 minute golf cart ride along with several larger boutique Belizean resorts which also have restaurants and bars. Several grocery stores (Belizean size) are in the area with two that deliver. If you wish to eat in but not cook, our caretaker’s wife will prepare excellent Belizean meals upon request.
Our beach is soft white sand with a gentle slope into the ocean. The ocean bottom in front of Esmeralda Del Mar is all natural and is generally soft sand, turtle grass or similar marine vegetation. We recommend beach shoes be worn because it is a living sea bottom with vegetation, sea life and some shells. Depth can range from under a foot at the shoreline to six to ten feet at the reef depending on the tide and other conditions. The slope is gradual.
If you go in the ocean, please note it is the swimmer’s responsibility to be aware of boat traffic at all times and especially around docks and between the end of docks and the reef. Both recreational and light commercial traffic does occur between the shore and the reef from time to time all along Ambergris Caye. Swimming after dusk is not recommended.

This house is stunning. We had an amazing time and would hands down book this home again. The caretaker, Ben, and his wife were excellent hosts. They both did an amazing job cooking the fish, lobster and crab that the gentlemen in our party caught earlier that day. We definitely hated to leave!

This property is nothing short of stunning. The architecture and decor are thoughtfully designed to somehow stand-out but still harmonize with the surroundings. Every room is a testament to meticulous attention to detail, with stylish furnishings and vibrant local artwork that reflect the spirit of Belize. The woodwork is amazing!
The outdoor spaces are truly spectacular. We spent hours lounging by the pool and on the terraces, which offer breathtaking views of the the barrier reef. We loved hanging out on the rooftop in the evenings to enjoy big beachy breezes and a 360 degree view of ocean, lagoons and sunsets. The shade of the trees throughout the property and the well-cared for sandy landscape made outside as comfortable as inside, even during peak heat of the day.
The owners and property management team clearly put a lot of thought into the guest experience. Anything and everything we needed for a worry-free stay was taken care of. A special mention must go to the property's caretaker and his wife, Benjamin and Addey, who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. We arrived to warm smiles and genuine hospitality. They were always available to assist with any request, offering valuable tips on local attractions and helping us arrange activities. Addey cooked dinner for us one night, and it was our favorite and most delicious meal of the trip!
Our stay at Esmeralda Del Mar was a dream, and over too quick. We love the North San Pedro area hope to return soon!!

The home is beautiful! Great location. We had 6 adults and everyone had plenty of space and privacy. The caretakers Benjamin and his wife are wonderful! From coconut water in the afternoon, cooked meals in the evening to arranging afternoon massages, they are superb. We can't wait to return!

I cannot say enough great things about EDM! The house is absolutely gorgeous and Benjamin and Adi (onsite caretakers) were wonderful. The house has a whole home generator, which was huge because the power went out daily. Other houses around us were without power while we had full power. The house is about a 25 minute golf cart ride from San Pedro which was far enough away from the hustle and bustle. If you are considering a trip to Ambergris, I highly recommend this house! We can’t wait to return.

The house was one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful house, new and well appointed. 3 master suits in the house and 1 in the casita. Plenty of room for 5 adults but could easily host twice that. Always nice to come back to after a busy day of scuba diving or fishing. Plus scuba and fishing companies pick you up from your dock, very convenient. On site property manger, Benjamin & his wife Adi were amazing. Adi’s Home cooked Belizian dinners were great!
Only suggestion would be to have some beach games available on property. We loved our family getaway to Belize!

We had six people stay at the house and we loved the place. This was exactly what we read in the description. The property is kept very clean and the property caretaker Benji was great very pleasant and accommodating. The views of the ocean from the pool area and on top of the house were amazing (sunrise and sunset). Addy cooked for us a few times and was very good. If you want excursions Benji can suggest someone. We had a great time Fishing, snorkeling and late lunch prepared from what we caught. You can have golf carts delivered to you when you get there. In all a great time and would recommend it to all.

We have stayed on the island several times over the last few years and we can without a doubt say that Esmeralda Del Mar is the best property by a land slide.
The interior and exterior of this property exceeded our expectations and the views along with the surrounding landscape were second to none. Benji the caretaker was very accommodating and helped with setting up the room for our infant on his first trip to San Pedro.
There are several restaurants close by and a very convenient grocery store nearby on the main road north. Ask for IAN at Sundeck Restuarant and bar (just north of the property) for your local tours/diving excursions around San Pedro. He is a true Waterman and can provide a ton of insight for visiting anglers/divers as well as prepare your catch for you.

This is an amazing property! Benjamin and Aji made sure we had everything that we needed. Would recommend to anyone with a group to book this property. Liked the location away from town but easy to get to restaurants and other shopping in town via golf cart. Did we enjoy Esmeralda Del Mar? You better BELIZE it!!

We had an amazing week at this property! Benjamin and Adi were fantastic. It was about a 25 minute cart ride to town and about 20 minutes to Secret Beach. There were several restaurants nearby and our favorite was Tropical Escape just two doors down! There was sea grass on the beach so couldn't swim there but we enjoyed the pool everyday. You could watch the sunrise and sunset of the rooftop everyday. We had Adi cook for us two different nights and the meals were fantastic! All eight of us enjoyed the stay!!

The house was perfect for the nine of us, two floors of living spaces and a Casita. The very top floor (48 steps up!) has a place for three hammocks overlooking the Caribbean Sea and coral reef.
More great things….the living spaces and all bedrooms have very efficient air conditioners and fans. Both family rooms have satellite TV’s with Netflix, etc., and the WiFi works great. The house is equipped with a generator if you lose power, and has 3 kayaks to use since the reef keeps the larger waves at bay. The caretaker, Benjamin, is awesome and is always there to make your stay more fabulous. There is even a breakfast burrito guy who pedals his delicious wares every morning between 7-7:30 if you chose to partake.
The property is about as close as you can get to Secret Beach which every visitor should spend at least one day at. The beach isn’t so secret, with a number of restaurants and bars, but there is NO sea grass, just an incredible expanse of crystal clear Caribbean water.
Visitors need to rent golf carts! San Pedro is a 15 min golf cart ride with many a side bar on the way to town. The airport is a 25 min ride. Excursions to the Mayan ruins and cave tubing are done off island and snorkeling/fishing excursions get picked up on the private dock on property.
We had massages on property (set up by Benjamin) and hired an incredible Chef, Alex from Exquisite Eats, for a few nights. We would all return in a heartbeat. Thank you Esmerelda Del Mar!

The pictures don’t do this property justice. It is an amazing place, the beds and bedding are so cozy I had to order the same pillows and sheets to have at my home. The caretaker Ben keeps the place impeccable and is extremely helpful in every way. His wife Adi cooked us delicious meals, and we enjoyed having their family over for dinner as well! Their family made our trip even better!! While we never met Janice, she was on top of things when Tropic Air changed our flight without notification and was very helpful in coordinating things and answering questions before our arrival. We will definitely go back!! Thank you!!

There aren’t enough words to describe the most peaceful, pleasant, adventurous experience we had on our first time to Bélize — thanks to Janice, Benjamin, and the lovely guides and drivers they connected us with the entire trip. Everything was highly coordinated for us which made a HUGE difference for convenience and enjoyment.
Not only did the house itself and pool and dock areas exceed any expectations that we may have had in our minds (worth mentioning the best sleep we’ve literally ever had on vacation), but Benjamin the caretaker was simply the biggest cherry on top, with his knowledge of the island, the food (HIGHLY recommend spending a little extra for his wife to cook you a home cooked Belizian meal!), and just the joy he exuded when cracking open coconuts for us to have fresh coconut water and meat. We even named a new at-home coconut cocktail after his son!
Everything about our stay and the exploration of this precious gem of an island was perfect. It’s a one stop paradise on the beach that feels like a gigantic, welcoming hug. Thank you for the best stay and trip - we can’t wait to come back and stay even longer next time!

This home is everything they advertise. Our family had an amazing stay and would definitely stay here again. The groundskeeper and his wife went our of their way to make this an amazing stay. They prepared amazing food for our entire family. It was a week of paradise.

Returning from an incredible week staying with Janice and the Esmeralda Del Mar group! amazing property, location and care. Benjamin is really a wonderful home attendant and did an phenomenal job tending to the property all week. He even made us fresh banana bread every morning to be included with the fresh tacos and tamales every morning that come by the house for purchase!
The docks are a short boat ride away from some of the best fishing in the world. As a traveling angler, rarely do your guides pick you up and drop you off in your backyard! Absolutely a dream come true.
The rental also helped us acquire golf carts for our stay which they had positioned at the home upon our arrival. Additionally coordinating our flights with tropic air and taxi from the San Pedro Terminal to Esmeralda Del Mar.
I really cannot recommend this property enough and hope to be lucky enough to return back one day soon!

Rented this property for a week’s getaway for three couples. Plenty of space for everyone to hang out as a group or spread out for a little quiet time. The decks and patio, pool area and top look out deck offer incredible views from any given spot. Beachy area is beautifully kept and so relaxing. We enjoyed the bikes and kayaks, and there was plenty to do and see nearby.
Benjamin and Adi are friendly and helpful and the homemade meals they offer amazing! The house sparkles! Definitely recommend EDM and would rent again!

We had an amazing time in Belize. Janice was incredible at helping us coordinate transportation, food, and activities prior to our arrival. When we got to the house Benjamin greeted us and showed us the property. The golf carts we reserved and food previously ordered were already at the house and put away for us. Benjamin was around keeping the property clean and tidy and was always available for questions we had. On our departure date our flight out was completely cancelled. Both Benjamin and Janice went out of their way to help us coordinate our new departure. The home is amazing and the staff went above and beyond for us. I would highly recommend staying at EDM.

First of all, the villa looks EXACTLY as pictured. Absolutely stunning, and in an area that is developing rapidly - restaurants and the LOVELY Winey Gringa for supplies are very close. The pool is incredible and the setup is perfect for larger families/groups that may want more space to themselves.
Benjamin and Addi couldn't have been more lovely as our caretakers. They went out of their way consistently to make sure we had whatever we needed; when Benjamin learned we were getting married on site (very small ceremony of only 6), he and his wife made us a cake to congratulate us. So sweet. His wife also taught my mother and aunt in law how she makes her INCREDIBLE ceviche; they loved the experience!
Sargassum does continue to be an issue on the entire east coast of Ambergirs; so be prepared to deal with that as you would at any location on that side of the island, when it's occurring; however, Secret Beach is a quick trip if you want clear water guaranteed!
We did have some communication issues with management re: a/c outage and pickup time, but I was incredibly impressed as they continued to communicate with me even after I arrived home, and are genuine in their desire to give their guests the absolute best experience; I have no doubt that they not only took my comments into consideration, but are actively working on permanent solutions so they won't run into these issues again. Reef does seem to genuinely care about and value their guests.

Communication was Excellent right from the booking to the day we had to leave. Between Janice ( property manager) and Ben ( property caretaker) we were organized and well taken care of! Property was amazing and welcoming ❤️.Esmeralda Del Mar was definitely one of the nicest properties . Ben’s wife Adi made us a delicious Belizian dinner one night along with some other yummy things ( refried beans and banana bread!). Jumping off the dock and swimming with the rays and fish was awesome. Clinton and crew at Ali Mermaid adventures ( recommended by Janice) were trustworthy and made sure we had some amazing adventures snorkeling, fishing and hidden gems . Can’t wait to go back!

We had a wonderful stay at Esmeralda del Mar. This was our first time to Belize and we appreciated Janice's help with planning the details of our trip. She also provided additional recommendations for excursions while we there. Benjamin gave us a warm welcome to the house and we looked forward to his smile everyday. He was also quick to offer us fresh coconuts to enjoy.
The layout of the home was perfect for our group that consisted of three families. There was plenty of room for us to be together, play games, share meals and also relax. I hope we can go back soon and would highly recommend this house to friends and family.
The house is nicely appointed for anything that you may need during your stay. Benjamin was also available if we had questions or wanted to use the kayaks that are available. We loved our time at Esmeralda del Mar and hope to visit again in the future.

This amazing home is absolutely stunning!
From the minute we arrived to the second we left we felt at home and well taken care of. Benjamin was a absolutely wonderful caretaker/host. He was always available for advice, recommendations, and hospitality. This home is more then beautiful, and we were pleasantly surprised with the stature and details in everything.
The grounds are prestine, the amenities are next level and your feel like your on top of the world staying here. We would all recommend the is beautiful home to anyone.

Esmeralda Del Mar is a beautiful home, and we spent a week there with friends, all of us first-timers to Belize. Our transfer driver was there to meet us at the San Pedro airport, and it didn't take us long to unpack and start taking in the amazing views this home has to offer. Absolutely loved (a selling point for us for sure!) having 3 king bed suites that all face the water, and the beds were so comfortable! The grounds are beautifully maintained by Benjamin the caretaker, and he and his wife (Adi) cooked for us 3 times (the yellow ginger snapper was our favorite). Benjamin was friendly and helpful in every way...we definitely felt cared for...he told us he was "born for this job", and we couldn't agree more!
The beach area was beautifully maintined on the property, and we were hoping/assuming that the neighboring properties would be the same...not so...lots of seaweed and trash, that made it unappealing to go for beach walks.
Getting around on golf carts was an adventure for sure! Nice having a little market nearby (homemade salsa and baked goods), and we drove into San Pedro two days for lunch & shopping. We booked snorkeling and fishing trips with Clinton, and also had 2 masssage therapists to come to the house.
Having WhatsApp was super helpful, for communicating with Benjamin and Janice (property manager), and we also used it to communicate with Clinton re our snorkeling trip, etc.
Just needed to add the proper area code.
Hurricane Lisa interrupted our stay mid-week, but EMD is built like a fortress, and we were totally safe there. It was labeled a Level 1, and Benjamin updated us often on the trajectory and what to expect. He encouraged us to get some extra groceries, as restaurants and markets would be closed. Janice came and met with us in advance of the storm to inform us of our options, which was very helpful to calm our nerves, and we chose to stay. Again, we felt very cared for!
We ate fresh seafood every day...such a treat! Wish we would have bought duty free alcohol at the airport, as it's more expensive on the island. We were glad we brought as much cash as we did...easier to pay Benajmin & Adi for meals, bicycle breakfast burrito guy on the beach, massages, tips, etc. Thank you giving us a taste of island life and memories with friends!

We had an absolutely fantastic time! The property is extremely clean and well cared for. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Benjamin and his family are the best! If you want some great food, have them cook you dinner! P.s. Remember to bring your bug spray.

We travelled to Belize as a family of 3 adult siblings with spouses. First, the house... Beautiful and perfectly appointed! Loved the local art throughout! Having a king suite for each couple is essential for our group and we were ALL very comfortable with as much privacy as needed. Where this house is situated on the beach is perfect with beautiful landscaping and amazing sunrise views! The house had everything we needed for cooking and entertaining. Having a SONOS speaker for streaming our own music was a definite plus! The only reason the TV's ever went on was for watching the MLB playoffs (GO Astros!!!) Plenty of room inside and out for all of our shenanigans! Pool time and kayaking were wonderful! We noticed halfway through our stay that the dining set downstairs is actually weatherproof patio furniture which was perfect for moving outside when needed. Truly... the house is perfect!
Having a caretaker onsite was such a blessing! Benjamin and Adi are a beautiful couple with 2 beautiful children whom we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know. We invited them to join us for a meal that they cooked for us on the last night and we couldn't have had a better time! The food was delicious!
We booked a few excursions through Clinton (Ali Mermaid Adventures) and had a fantastic time with many memories and pictures to take home with us. We flew over to the mainland to do the zip-lining, cave tubing and Mayan ruins. It was a full day of adventures with Manuel, our guide, and Larius(?) our driver who were both a delight and so knowledgable. We were sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the day.
In San Pedro we set up a couple of days of snorkeling various reefs, fishing, and a beach BBQ (complete with lobster and the fish that we caught. We had the best times with Clinton and his son, Omar, and highly recommend them for any excursion you may want!
Pre-trip communications and planning with both Janice and Clinton were very thorough and all that we needed to help us feel assured that our trip would start off on a positive note! We can't say enough about the amazing time that we had at Esmerelda Del Mar! Highly recommend this home for your Belize vacation!

What an incredible-spiritual journey, in one of the most beautiful country-sides I’ve ever been to.
From the beginning, when exploring properties for my best friend’s Bachelor party, Esmeralda Del Mar quickly rose to the top of our list. Upon my initial inquiry, in less than 24/hours, I received a response from Patricia and Janice with Reef Management. After a tad bit of research, I was convinced there was nothing like this piece of paradise, and upon introducing the location to the group, we were instantly in love with this beautiful property. Once we officially committed, Janice immediately went to work, researching dependable vendors to charter the specific excursions we wanted. All we needed to do was show up.
Upon arriving in Belize City, Janice saw to it that one of our group travelers had dinning options at the Blue Water Grill, until we all arrived. Once we did, we all boarded Tropic Air together and landed in San Pedro. Janice arranged our arrival and departure ground transportation with Reinaldo Beltran. He was energetic, dependable and knew the best places to frequent on the island. Reinaldo did warn us about the pot holes leading to the property, but it really didn’t bother us, once we arrived at Esmeralda Del Mar. O’h the beauty of the tropical plants, sand ladened pathways to this mesmerizing property. The 1st and 2nd floors are amazing. The photos really do this property justice. Every room had an on-suite and all of the amenities needed for your stay. The casita had the same amenities, but the best view was from the porch and pool, steps away from the Caribbean. Once settled, Benjamin (housekeeper) made sure our stay was stress-free. On two occasions, he and his bride made a feast for the ages. Would highly recommend that they cook for a 2nd floor meal, when the retractable doors can be opened to the sea…. So beautiful!
Our excursions where handles by Brian at Castaway Caye. Deep Sea fishing was successful and fed us for two of the four days we stayed. Kevin and Eli (fishing guides) made the trip so much fun. We had a chance to visit a few islands and explore a few awesome Shoppes and eateries. On our next experience, we took a trip inland back to Belize City to travel to the Xunantunich Mayan Ruins, preceded by Xibalba Cave Tubing. Charlie was our guide, and an awesome history teacher of this beautiful country.
A final day at Secret Beach was dampened by rain, but we’re planning a 2024 trip back to Belize!

Excellent property just far enough away
The property was excellent and just far enough away from downtown San Pedro to feel isolated yet close enough to jump into the local flavor when called. The property was very clean and well kept with lots of options for entertaining. Having golf carts a must if you want to get out but nice to have a local restaurant within walking distance. The home has a pier which is super convenient for fishing, diving or boat activity as they will pick you up at the house. We highly recommend this property and Ambergris Caye.

The house is just as pictured. Plenty of room. We were a group of 7. The casita is an added bonus. Benjamin was a wonderful caretaker. He and his wife cooked us dinner one night which was lovely. Highly recommend this property!

Amazing!
We had an incredible time and were SO happy we ended up staying here. The house is unbelievable and so enjoyable to relax at with a group of friends as everyone has their own space. We didn't find the distance from town to be an issue at all and the golf cart rides are just another fun activity to say the least. Dinner by Adi and Benjamin was wonderful just as the other reviewers noted. The beds were obscenely comfortable, pool floats were very fun, kitchen fully stocked with variety of appliances made for cooking with a big group super easy. Highly recommend!

Wonderful time in San Pedro!
Our group of 8 (4 adults and 4 teenagers) stay at Esmerelda Del Mar was absolutely wonderful!
The home and casita were comfortable, well-appointed and clean. The pool and grounds were lovely. The caretaker, Benjamin, was attentive and helpful, and Janice (property manager) was fantastic as well, arranging all of our connections and travel to and from the island, setting up in-home massages, setting up our golf carts (and assisting us when any problems arose), and connecting us to Clinton at Ali Mermaid for excursions!
The only less-than-perfect things about our stay were things that couldn’t have been affected by our rental property or hosts. As an example, the sea grass off the beach was crazy - Benjamin raked it daily but there would have been no way to clear it all, so swimming off of our beach was somewhat unrealistic during our stay (we made our way to secret beach for that instead). The roads in and out of town are also paved with potholes - so be prepared for an adventurous ride when venturing into town….it’s a bit like a game of whack-a-mole except that your trying to avoid the holes. And lastly, though Belize is a young and underdeveloped country, it’s quite expensive to eat out. You can eat on the cheap if you go into the city for street food, and Benjamin and Addie can prepare meals at the house (which was great!), but definitely adjust your expectations to pay decent money when eating out in restaurants.
When all is said and done, our stay was absolutely wonderful - we relaxed, saw much of the Caye and surrounding areas, and enjoyed our time together while at beautiful Esmerelda Del Mar! (Also the beds were so comfortable!)

Great Vacation
The property was great, just as we had hoped it would be from the pictures. Right on the beach, property caregivers always made sure everything was clean, they have kayaks that you can take out from the beach, fishing poles for fishing right off the dock, small fish but still fun. The caregivers made us dinner one night, for a fee of course, but it was great and worth it. House is great, views awesome, pool is great to have right there, roof top sun deck was good to have also. Not a lot of crazy clubs or anything which we didn't want as we wanted to relax this trip and thats what we did. Lots of smaller restaurants around, kind of a hastle to get back to the mainland if you want to do ruins trips etc so we just stayed on the island and did snorkeling and another sunset tour. If we were going to come back to Belize we would definitely stay agian. Communication with property manager was great, she is all about helping with whatever is needed. No complaints at all, if you are thinking of staying on the the island, no better place than here. I got some cool drone shots ill try to add later.

Magical
We loved Esmerelda Del Mar. The home and the grounds were immaculate. The caretakers Benjamin, his wife Addalita and son Jahman were a tremendous help and great to spend time with. I even had the honor of learning how to cook Addalita's wonderful yellow ginger fish. We enjoyed Belize so much and it was so hard to say goodbye. We can wait to return!
