If you have ever seen the TV show "Buying Alaska," you know one of their opening lines is...In Alaska, the real amenities are on the outside. The same applies to Kure Beach. When your trip brings you to Kure Beach to enjoy all those amenities, I invite you to make the most of your trip with a stay at The Heart of the Sea.
The Heart of the Sea is like no other at Kure Beach. Ground floor….corner unit….no stairs….with parking less than ten(10) feet from your front door! While not considered “handicap” approved, access to our unit with no stairs makes for the perfect vacation home! Step out your door and enjoy all that Kure Beach has to offer!!
The Heart of the Sea is as close as you can get to the ocean at Kure Beach......unless you are in it! The Heart is ten(10) steps from the beach access. The beautiful bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed, 2 night stands, chest, and wall mirror....double closet with plenty of storage space... and a VCR and 25 inch TV.
There are 2 bunks in the alcove with storage drawers for all those bathing suits and stuff the kids will want to bring! The living room furniture is so cozy and comfortable. You can sit in a favorite chair, on the sofa or in the recliner and still take in the amazing views without leaving the house! Charter Spectrum is both the internet and cable provider. You can enjoy the Spectrum Bronze package on the 42 inch smart TV.
One bath....with tub and shower combo, lots of counter space and a washer and dryer for your convenience .
Your fully equipped kitchen has a Mr. Coffee maker and a Keurig for your favorite cup of morning Joe. A built in microwave and counter top toaster oven are included for your convenience. Complete kitchen supplies are there for your use if you decide to eat in, possibly enjoying some of the locally fresh seafood.
You will have a 180 degree view of the 41.1 million square mile Atlantic Ocean! Standing on the deck at 11' above sea level has been described by guests as standing on the bow of a ship Can it get any better? Yes! It can and it does! Sit in the one of the two hammock chairs on the deck once and you will never want to leave this island paradise! A fixed table bar on the deck allows for dining on the deck while watching and listening to the mighty Atlantic. A charcoal grill for your use is located in the sand yard. Watch the dolphins play as you enjoy a meal on the built in deck bar! Don’t miss a thing trying to peer over the railing.
When in the mood for sand and surf, bring your beach chairs and umbrella from home or utilize one of the local rental companies, that book you've been wanting to read.... and sit on the quiet beach that is literally seconds from your door! Let the magic happen!

The NC Aquarium is 1 mile away. The Civil War rich Fort Fisher is adjacent to our property. This property includes approximately 1/4 mile walkway where you can revisit the protection the fort provided the Port of Wilmington. Take time to visit the visitor's center and view an audio visual program telling the history of Fort Fisher. The grand opening is tentatively set for Labor Day weekend for the 25 million dollar renovation to the visitor's center. The ferry is app. 2 miles away! For $7, you and your vehicle can cross the Cape Fear River to the amazing little town of Southport.

What an incredible place to spend a few days. When you look at the pictures you kind of wonder, “Can it actually be THAT close to the ocean?” The answer is a resounding yes. We have never stayed anywhere so close to the water. It’s honestly kind of wild. We loved the location, the layout, the check in process, all of it. The host even sent an email with links to restaurants and things to do. If you’re looking for something off the regular touristy path…a little more out of the way…a little different…you should book this propriety now. We loved it. The sunrises on the deck were unbelievable. We wholeheartedly recommend!

We loved our stay at the condo! Family of 4 with two children (8,11). Steps from the beach, close to restaurants/shops, and everything you need for an amazing beach vacation. We loved sitting on the porch watching the waves and taking a break from the beach. Pool was great for the kids and the condo was just what we meeded.

It was great to be so close to the ocean. The condo had everything we needed. The kitchen was great and my wife was so happy that there was a laundry machine. The living space was very comfortable we will be back.

This is our second stay and it is such a great property. You cannot get closer to the ocean, and being able to watch and hear the surf right from the balcony hammocks is just heaven!

The place was super cute, even had a small bunk bed for kids. Perfect size for the two of us with a great spot on the beach right outside the unit. The view from the deck was amazing and we could hear the ocean from inside. Quiet location but it was a short ride to the boardwalk area. I would go back for future visits and the view!

We came to celebrate our 45th wedding anniv and wanted somewhere quiet and on the beach. The Heart was perfect! Excellent customer service from start to finish. We watched sunrises every morning on the covered deck and listened to the waves all day. We definitely 100 percent recommend staying here and home to come back often to Kure and stay here. Would give 10 stars for The Heart!! Only thing is you have renters above you and you can hear them sometimes if walk heavily But nights were quiet and we both slept great in comfortable bed. All reviews are true!!! The Heart is better than one can describe. Try it for yourself if you want a little bit of Heaven on Earth. Thats how we felt watching God paint beautiful sunrises over the ocean each day!!

It’s better than the pictures and description! You can’t get closer to the water and the views are spectacular! The sounds of the waves, the sunrises and sunsets, all of it! Even from indoors the views are amazing. Rita and Steve were super helpful and responsive! They’ve got a gem of a place!! I met my best friend of 36 years there to celebrate our 50th birthday and it couldn’t have been better! I hope to come back one day again!

This was the BEST place for a much needed getaway!! We enjoyed having a relaxing dinner every nite on patio ocean view no crowds no wait! Steps away from the beach everyday toes in the sand and relaxing! Morning coffee with a beautiful sunrise and a good book. Just couldn’t ask for a more comfortable home away from home. We will definitely be back!!

Heart of the Sea was the perfect spot for a teen’s birthday weekend. Mom enjoyed the ocean views with coffee in the morning and the kids loved how easy it was to walk to the beach.

Host was friendly and communicated promptly, and the home was clean, comfortable, and safe. The hammocks on the porch were by far the favorite, especially for a mid day nap or morning coffee. We even got to see dolphins from the back porch!
There were plenty of amenities, including books and dvds with both adult and kid friendly genres. Many local food options if you don’t want to cook.
Highly recommended for a relaxing and private get away on the beach in a quiet neighborhood but still within a short drive to the livelier crowds if that’s your vibe. It’s a must stay!

First let me start by saying the pictures do not do this beautiful place any justice. The view is breath taking , truly the closet I’ve ever stayed ON the beach! The property was so clean and quiet. You have the entrance to the beach right beside your front door. The hammock swings are my favorite part of the whole place. We ended up ordering take out and enjoyed it on the swings with an amazing view. They have a closet FULL of sand toys you can use . I wish I could post the 1,000 pictures I took of the view in just the one night we stayed at your property! The pool looked nice and very clean. If you go to this property the aquarium is possibly 5 minutes away so I would suggest checking that out!! I have already recommended this place to so many people and hope every one of you get to enjoy this place at least once in your life time!!

We stayed 3 nights and it was amazing! Perfect place for a quick Mother/Daughter get away. Sunrise from the ocean front deck was stunning. Plenty of streaming apps already loaded to the tv (one of our days was a little rainy and this was great for us!). Clean and convenient property. Everything listed was in working order and as described in the listing. We felt very safe staying at this property. Great communication from property owner/manager.

This condo was exactly as pictured. It had everything we needed. It was so clean. This place is right on the ocean. Like steps away. We enjoyed watching the water and waves and the moon shining on the water at night. Beds were very comfortable. Restaurants are a close drive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our quick weekend trip. The location exceeded our expectations, with the ocean right in front of the porch. It feels like being on a ship. The unit is well-maintained and matches the description. Communication with Steve is easy, and he responds promptly. We would love to come back.

The place was perfect for our stay. Comfy and welcoming. The views do not disappoint and you are on the beach. I loved being here at the quiet time of the year. We were visiting family in Wilmington and this location was a perfect “escape” for ourselves.

If you want a stay ON the beach this is the place. You can't get any closer to the water without getting wet. It was great to come out your door and be on the beach in 10 steps.Being February we practically had the beach to ourselves . The Heart was one of the cleanest places we have stayed in. It had everything we needed and made our week perfect.

It was amazing being right next to the ocean. A nice surprise to be within walking distance of the trails and sites at Fort Fisher. The unit was cheerful and clean and very well equiped. The host was great to work with. I'm looking forward to going back as soon as I can.

Our vacation was the last week of October and it was perfect! The condo is clean, decorated nicely, recently updated and the host responded very quickly to our questions. I highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing time by the ocean!

My wife and I wanted to take one more beach trip in early September to officially close out summer. We found this absolute gem, and when I say ocean front, it doesn’t get anymore oceanfront. Easy to locate, clean and charming. We were more than happy and will absolutely be back next year. Thankful for good property manager/owner too.

Year two was just as perfect as year one. The tide was a little wonky and there were limited hours the deck could be used but we used the picnic table out front. The view was perfect to watch the crazy tide even from in the condo.

The views absolutely wonderful! As for the food, Shrimp and grits was the favorite .

Our stay was excellent, despite tropical storm Ophelia. The owner checked on us to make sure we arrived safely, kept us updated when we lost power for a bit, and even extended our stay to compensate for the temporary loss of use we experienced. Highly recommend!!

My husband and I enjoy our stay at the Heart. The ocean view was amazing. This is the closest you can stay to the ocean without being in the water. The place was very inviting and and had water views from standing in the kitchen to standing in the living room with surrounded views of the ocean. Very relaxing stay. Can't wait to come again.
