Excellent as the weather was good but might have struggled if the weather had been bad . We were looking for a relaxing

A great location , helpful staff and great views. Breakfast was excellent

There was a lack of atmosphere in the lounge at night . A piano might have added more atmosphere . We stayed 5 nights and the short menu didn’t change so we only ate dinner once . At lunchtime and early afternoon there were no snacks available. Gazpacho soup was delicious but not as light lunch every day . Probably a hotel for a two night tourist break rather than a relaxing holiday break.

A home away from home

To begin with the hotel has a modern design. Very easy to navigate the interior of the building. It has some fantastic vies over the sea. The staff are very helpful and genuinely caring. The food at both breakfast time and dinner times is very good and of such a variety that someone with dietary preferences can find something suitable. The closeness to the old town is really a plus over the other pluses. It’s too bad that the weather did not permit experiencing the beach in this property. My room was a spacious sea facing room and the bathroom was equally spacious. I can’t single out any one staff member in particular. Every one I interacted with were very friendly.

I can’t say that the term did not like applies to my experience in the property. There was nothing I did not like. But somethings could have been done better for sure. I used the spa and had to request for towels and slippers. These items are usually kept in the locker for customers but here the lockers were completely empty. My room overlooks a terrace that overlooks the sea. Privacy would be an issue if the shutters are opened. So although I had a sea view, I could not leave the shutters open to wake up to the rising sun for example. But that gives me the impetus to leave the room early to enjoy the view in another spot in the hotel.

Highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, comfortable, and really nice staff. Good food. Great access to beach and nice to have sun beds. Only 20 minutes walking distance from the old city.

Fantastic views in modern hotel

The hotel is in a very special location with magnificent views. The private/public beach is good fun. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The dining/bar options are faultless. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and professional.

The exterior of the hotel is very ugly. 1980s style blue glass and chrome. If I hadn't already paid for the hotel I might have told the taxi to keep driving. All is well however, once you enter. It has had a very tasteful, modern refurbishment, and when you see the views, you almost forget about the blue glass

Wonderful stay, staff is very helpful and professional.

The loccation was perfect, outside the old city so it’s more private and not so busy, but only a 20 minute walk to get there. Great breakfast buffets!

This was absolutely a wonderful stay and sets the bar high for future visits to other locations.

The room was very comfortable and high quality. I was able to open the patio door at night and let the sea breeze waft in and cool my room. I was able to look out from my balcony at the sea and beaches below.

Somewhat of a walk from the Old City. However, this was not a big deal.

The food was absolutely excellent for Breakfast and the dinners and lunches - service excellent as well. Very attentive staff

I really have no complaints; the restaurant was even able to accommodate us for dinner one evening on very short notice and when they were fully booked!

Beautifully decorated and welcoming staff. Location is excellent. Beach is fantastic. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice. Cooked breakfast prepared to order with gluten and dairy free options.

Perfect stay

Very lovely, cozy and modern hotel. Near city center, 10-15 min to walk to, with private beach and all SPA facilities - everything you could wish for! Comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was really good, compliments to the kitchen. Staff were very helpful keeping room clean and tidy.

Strongly recommended!

My room faces directly to the sea. The view is fantastic. The location of the hotel is great. It is not too far away from the port nor the old city. Both are in walkable distance. The hotel is also reachable with car. Therefore, it would be recommended for those who have heavy luggages. The beach under the hotel looks beautiful. Though not at the proper temperature during my visit, it should be great to swim there, just telling from the appearance. The room is super super clean. The staffs are freindly and very helpful. It is an enjoyable stay. The offered breakfast is good.

Fantastic view

When I arrived hotel, they gave me an upgraded room. The view from the room was amazing facing ocean and beach. I stayed 3-days in this hotel. I always liked to have breakfast. It was really nice meal there.

It was one of my best trips ever. Dubrovnik is beautiful town, but stay in hotel Excelsior make trip even nicer. I booked initially Bellevue hotel, but they wrote me on time that hotel will be unexpected closed during my stay in Dubrovnik and if I accept to be in Excelsior hotel for same money. It was very nice, they ask this. They gave me similar room with amazing view in Excelsior hotel. Experience from Excelsior hotel is just perfect. Very nice lady Vesna welcome me nice and any time I saw her was sincere greetings and what ever she could help she was ready. Location perfect, food, beach, wellness area, big swimming pool, music every night but choice of very quality musicians

Took a long time for the water to get warm in the shower - I felt a bit wasteful waiting for it to warm up. This is all I could come up with for 'didn't like' though!

A wonderful hotel in a stunning city

What a wonderful hotel. The breakfast was fantastic, and the food and wine in the restaurant for dinner was simply stunning. The view from the room was beautiful and the room itself was a good size with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and attentive, they also seemed genuinely happy to be working there which gave the whole hotel a really positive feel. The drinks from the bar were excellent, as was the bar food. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Old City which is the perfect distance to escape the noise and bustle but still be within striking distance, and there are also plenty of taxis available. The indoor pool area was quiet and relaxing with a lovely warm jacuzzi and plenty of sunloungers. All in all a wonderful stay and a hotel I would recommend to anyone coming to Dubrovnik.

Very little to fault here, I only wish we had stayed longer to take full advantage of the hotel facilities.
