Missing the final touch

Breakfast is amazing

Booked the executive room, and with the expensive room you expect everything to be perfect. However no batteries in tv remotes, pool on the roof to cold (fixed after 1 night) seating in restaurant all the way in the end and no spa slippers present.

Noch selten habe ich gesagt: Ich komme wieder!

Vieles war einfach nur super: Rezeption, Fittnessraum, Frühstück, Essen, Bedienung (fast alle...), Sauberkeit, Aufmerksamkeiten, SPA-Bereich, Lage, Parkplatz, ....

Mittelfristig sollte das Ronacher auch für Biker und Radler einen geeigneten Fahrradraum mit Servicemöglichkeiten (Werkzeuge, Luftpumpe, ... bereitstellen.

Fantasic spa hotel in the mountains

It is a top notch destination facilities and food was great very well run and recommended

The only issue is that there is no AC in the rooms. When we were staying it was no issue and we slept with the terrace door tilted but it could be an issue in hot days

Excellent hotel with minor imperfections

The hotel is first rate. It is in a great location, it is sparkling clean, offers fantastic food and supreme service. It is a super place to relax and unwind and we enjoyed it.

There are a few things you should be aware of, although quite acceptable by the locals we ‘merikans might not be used to. The highly advertised healing thermal water pools along with the special saunas (one of the reasons why I booked this hotel) are in a separate area to be enjoyed only by the “Nature lovers” (read nudists). For shy people like me and my wife it is off limits. The hotel is not air conditioned. This part of Austria is usually cool even in the summer but with the global warming upon us this is no longer the case. The day we arrived the outside temperature was 33.5C (93F). On our room balcony it was 32C (90F) and the room was uncomfortably warm. The outside cools down at night so sleeping with the door wide open is a must. Another problem is that the only cover on the bed is the very warm goose-down comforter. My solution was to strip the comforter and use only the comforter cover as the cover up. And finally, the TV has nearly 150 channels but the only station in English is the French news channel.

Pleasant and lovely

Stayed at Ronacher many times before and definitely planning to stay again. Pool area is wonderful. Hotel is very clean, staff polite and helpful. Place is lovely and non pretentious.

At some moments young staff seemed overwhelmed with everything. Lack of choice for vegetarians. Vegetarian meals for dinner are boring, too greasy and not so tasty.

Superb

The food was amazing . I like the majority of food and the fact that whole food was organic, fresh from local farm and the hotel garden.

The view from the room was amazing, the staff was very nice and helpful. The bed was comfortable only we didn’t like the pillows.

More money for leas value in a Motel/Hotel

They had working pool inside and outside and difficult ok saunas.

Ronacher Good to know prior to deciding to visit Das Ronacher - Therme and Spa Resort 1. Pre-fried pancakes 2. No nuts for serials 3. No waffles 4. No avocado to salads 5. No orange or grapefruit fresh juice 6. Most juice from concentrate 7. Smoothie from different fruits but so spoiled - already in process of fermentation (tried two days in a row and no worse - disgusting). 8. Limited fruit choices, No bananas 9. Only one Coffee machine, which guests have no access to. Coffee is most times delivered barely worm. 10. No kid’s menu (not even at new year’s eve). 11. No Fireworks at new year’s eve. 12. Poor new year’s eve menu, extremely limited food choices. 13. Despite early room request over the phone and promised to have a room on the fifth floor we got a too small room and then were transferred on the second day to the second floor to a larger room but now viewing over the garage and transformator/generator building. 14. On the second day we had to remind the front desk that there were things missing in the room; no soap, no slippers, no bathrobes. 15. First two days there was a madras dumped on-top of the couch in the room, which was only removed on the third day after we complained. 16. Slow room service, unprofessional and very unorganized. Had to call three times for dry bathrobes and waited 40minutes, on the 2nd call we were told that the personal must have forgotten and we asked for liquid soap for the bidet but this was completely disregarded, on the third call we were transferred to another who promised to send a colleague right away and then when they finally delivered (too small robes), we were told that they are very busy, and the person turned around and just left, last but not the least, all these calls had to be done from our cellphone as there was no phone in the room. 17.

Very good

Comfortable stay, the staff was really nice and did the extra mile for us, evening arranging a special birthday celebration. The location is great and you can easily start your hiking right from the hotel without moving the car. Wide selection of food and verace for breakfast and great dinner menu.

From a 5 stars hotel I would expect something more in terms of facilities and level of decoration, as well as bath products in the room just to mention one. There are more than one swimming pool but none is big enough for swimming, the steam bath room was not working during our stay and the grass outdoor was not kept clean and short in all areas. Not major things but definitely can be improved.

The spa and Therme areas are wonderful. A must. The breakfast and dinner were also great, with friendly staff and good musical surprises.

Very good

Lovely, relaxing break. Great food, huge room, lovely, comfy bed. Fantastic location for hikes.

Two small things. The room was meltingly hot and no way to turn down radiator. Plus, it was right above the bar terrace where people smoked so it was often smelling of cigarette smoke in the bedroom and bathroom which was awful. Would appreciate it if you could ask smokers to smoke away from the side of the hotel where the bedrooms are because it really affected my enjoyment of the stay.

A place to RETURN to

Quite everything... The whole SPA is just amazing (the salted pool sooooo relaxing) plus the different saunas / steam bath / Silence room etc ... [just remember that is a NUDE area so no swim suit / beachwear allowed... but obv you have the cuddly Bathrobe in your room to go around with...] Breakfast has everything, sweet and savoury buffet: Fresh fruits/ Croissants / Muffins / Cakes / Omelette on the go / Cheese / Cold cuts / Veggie ... just name it! Dinner is another plus: refined, sophisticated and fanciful... you may or may not like the formula, we just loved it!

Just a small flaw - The Dinner Menu: The Italian version on few occasions had nothing to do with the German one, the menu they would have served you, luckily my partner speaks German... so better pay attention if, like myself, you have some food intolerances.. or craving for something in particular.... all in all: better read both menus :)))

Booking customers are cheated

Only the spa/sauna. The attitude of the staff of the hotel was far away from nice

I’m very disappointed of my stay at Ronacher Hotel. First, we have been given a double room instead of a deluxe double room we paid for. Infact The room we had been given corresponded to the picture of the double room and not to the deluxe. We raised the issue to the property and they refused absolutely to change the room and to give us a partial reimbursement/ discount!! Second, we booked a double bed instead we have been given two single beds. To solve the problem they put one materas on the two single beds that was short 10 cm per side. In the third place, I absolutely NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for people with food intolerances. My girlfriend can’t eat gluten (celiaca): on the breakfast buffet they were offering some bread stated to be gluten free; only the second day after a full day of stomach pain, we have been told that the bread was not totally gluten free and the the gluten free bread had to been ordered in the kitchen!!! This is INADMISSIBLE! Not to further ruin my holiday we decided not to call Authorities. Besides, we have been assigned a dining table in the dining without windows also if we requested a change in the last couple days. I The service at the table for dinner was not adequate to a five stars hotel and the food was nothing special. It is incredible how the staff was arrogant in receiving our complaints and didn’t make any attempt to satisfy the customers. I absolutely DON’T RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO OTHER GUESTS.

Terrific stay at an amazing hotel in a beautiful location.

Our whole stay was just great, we left totally relaxed and renewed. The sauna area was wonderful. We spent ages in the warm thermal pool and the sauna rituals at the end of the day were amazing. Breakfast was terrific, lots and lots of choice. For dinner we had a 5-course vegetarian dinner that was different every day. We didn't once eat the same dish twice! As vegetarians it's pretty unique to find this in a hotel. The staff were always helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains. We will definitely be back, because there is so much more to see and of course more relaxing to be done :-)

Of course there is always room for minor improvements. We thought the mini-croissants at the breakfast buffet didn't measure up to the rest of the food and could do with an "upgrade".

Fantastic hotel with spa

The hotel is great, rooms are spacious and comfortable. The spa area is worth the stay alone and kept us more than entertained during several days of bad weather, although I would have liked the saunas to open earlier than 12.30. I was in breakfast+dinner accommodation and really enjoyed both the buffets and the cooked meals in terms of quality and variety.

I had a couple of issues with the staff - one staff member at reception was very rude and another staff member decided to just come into our room with her key and without even knocking first. Truth be told, the other staff members went above and beyond to make us have a comfortable stay.
