No disability room that was booked, new parking charge, no option for evening meal. Staff did try to help where could.

Location Good breakfast Staff friendly and did try to sort problems, which as fault of systems of the company.

No disability room available, even though booked months ago. Had to make do and help my partner so standard room not wheelchair friendly, and couldn’t use the shower. New £16 parking charge brought in 2 days before we stayed. Was advertised as free when booked. Could not order food between 5:45 and 9pm as large Rugby party.

The hotel was lovely,room and bathroom was immaculate.The staff were amazing and went above and beyond for my family.Super friendly no matter what time of day it was.Really look forward to staying there again

Hot, uncomfortable, sleepless!

Clean, modern

Air conditioning didn’t work in room. It was 24.5 degrees. After a totally sleepless night on first night, was told it would be fixed while we were out. It wasn’t and the front desk staff didn’t know anything about what their colleagues had assured us would be done in the morning! They gave us a fan which simply blew the hot air around the room! So we had 2 completely sleepless nights.

Poor due to no AC.

Clean. Nice staff and breakfast.

Broken AC !!I booked this hotel for my wife her sister and her grandkid and the AC was broken on the hottest day of the year my wife asked them to move them but they would not and the hotel was not full. My wife her sister and the grandkid (2 year old) were sweating the whole night. I only booked this hotel because it had AC!!

Disappointing as we have stayed here before and this was nothing like our first stay which was about 2 or 3 years ago bu

Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you and the breakfast was lovely and it was very clean everywhere.

The room we had was tired and old!!! The bed was awful!! Two nights of poor sleep !!.. and we had to be contortionist to make a cup of tea in a small slit in the wall which housed a kettle and cups etc and we had no iron or ironing board and no hairdryer and had to ask for all of these things. And we had a tv which was fine but we couldn’t look for Chanel’s on it as in a menu . The table under the tv had an awful chip out of it and warm and the chair looked 4th hand. and this was nearly £200 worth of room!? The only reason we paid less is because we regularly stay away and got Genius prices through booking .com with a small discount. The hotel itself where ever you looked was very clean but sooooo tired 😴 with the furniture in the bar area looking very tired and ingrained with stains. We didn’t take any photos as we didn’t want to waste our time. But the room was number 043 at the holiday in express on the a12 Colchester .

Nice hotel in ideal location

Friendly helpful staff (although seem to be a little over stretched when busy), ideal location, bar and evening food ok and great breakfast.

*Sofa bed was made up when only 1 occupant in room and couldnt completely collapse it! *Noisy tv's in dining area. * Lack of writen instructions and advice in rooms

Near enough perfect

The range for breakfast was amazing . We had a few issues but they were dealt with straight away.

The sofa bed was the worst, most uncomfortable 2 nights ever. It was alot further than I thought. If it wasn't for the uncomfortable sofa bed it would of been near enough perfect.

Excellent value for money will be back if we’re in Colchester again

Nice and clean. Good parking and location. Staff were friendly on arrival

Great stay but there's a little hiccup

Friendly staff and breakfast was included. The bedroom was clean and we did enjoy our stay.

We had our dinner in the hotel restaurant and the waitress insisted the lambshank was pork belly. We didn't pursue further as she was adamant that she didn't serve a wrong order, however, we can clearly tell the difference between lambshank and pork belly.

the fact that the hotel was shut so after driving for 5 hours we had nowhere to stay very angry with booking . com i am waiting a refund for my costs 262£ plus my extra expenses wait ing to here from booking .com.

it could do with a better sign at the entrance due to building works going on and some better lighting in the car park as very dark

great location for visiting friends nearby, easy access from main routes.

It was very hot during the stay, the air conditioning system didnt seem to work at all, and was very noisy! We got a fan for the room to help overnight.

Accommodation good,supporting service POOR!

The area, convenient to see other parts of the countryside! We saw quite a bit of it trying to find this hotel due to NO SIGNAGE!!

Lack of signage at the entrance,which is necessary as hotel is out of sight,referring this to the reception staff they just laughed!! No food available at lunch time!Little choice at breakfast! Evening dinner..fast food at its worst,and cleanliness of tables..lacking!Overall the attitude of staff was flippant,careless which needs urgently addressing!!D

Friendly staff. No more.

Staff not well trained. Window in my room was dirty from the inside. Because of staff shortage my room was not cleaned one night. It was how I was i formed that I was disgusted by. I came back to my room just before 5pm and my room was not serviced, as the day before. So I waited 15 minutes but this time nobody came. Tried to call recepyion but no answer. So decided to go down to reception. Upon oprning the door I found a A4 size note in front of my door informing me that my room would not be serviced. I went to reception to complain. The General Manager just walked pasted offered to clran the room. I told that was not necessary but thought it was at least courteous to call me not judt dump a letter in front of my door. I asked simply to have fresh towles not a fill service. Went up to my room, waited fir an hour but no towels. So wanted to go look for some. Opened my door and the were ON THE FLOOR!!!! HOW DISGUSTING IS THAT.!!!!!! Staff taking food and drink orders did know anything about their products.
