About this house rental
Stanley is a picturesque and charming town that any traveller will delight in. The entire town has preserved the character of yesteryear in its architecture The Lodge, built in 1915 is a house perfect for a family, group of friends or couples.
All you need to bring are beach towels and what you are going to eat and drink.
Charming Historic Masonic Lodge. Ocean views, the beach, The Nut, Tarkine Forest Adventure, sleeps 8. Escape to this very comfortable well-appointed private residence.
Please note, you will need to bring your own firewood to the property.
NOTE: The nightly rate at The Lodge is priced for couples – doors to unnecessary bedrooms will be locked. Additional guests incur a $60 per person, per night fee. Please enquire for special weekly and family rates. When booking, please state how many people will be staying at the property. For example: 3 adults = 1 couple and one single or any other combination. This will help the cleaning team for set up and cleaning purposes.
This 3-bedroom house (two queens and two singles with trundle beds) boasts a beautiful bathroom with claw foot bath, stunning entry and hallway, but best of all a wonderfully large living area with a fireplace and a fantastic view of the Nut for you and your friends to relax in. If the sun is shining, take advantage of the cleanest air in the world and sit yourself on the back deck; look over the back fence to the beach and Bass Strait or up to the omnipresent Nut that truly marks Stanley out as a spectacular getaway destination.
All the modern facilities mix with undeniable, old-school charm to make your stay comfortable in this historic building. You’ll be very glad to have an electric blanket to keep you toasty as you devour a book in bed! If you have children, they will delight in their very own cubbyhouse with table and chairs of their own or the local park just three doors down the road.
NOTE: The nightly rate at The Lodge is priced for couples – doors to unnecessary bedrooms will be locked. Additional guests incur a $50 per person, per night fee. Please enquire for special weekly and family rates to ensure the correct room setup and cleaning arrangements.

Guest access
You have exclusive access to the house for your entire stay. Doors will be locked to unnecessary bedrooms; so if a couple stays, one bedroom will be available to you for your stay for example. Once your full payment is received you will be sent access details to enable you to get the key to enter the property on arrival.

Complimentary WiFi is available at The Lodge.
Small dogs are welcome but please notify us BEFORE booking so we can arrange a special offer to accommodate your fury friend. If you choose to bring a small dog, there will be an additional fee of $150 added to your booking. Dogs MUST NOT be left unattended in The Lodge; please keep them off the furniture. Please bring your own bedding for your dog.
The hot water system and stove are powered by gas. If either are not working, go outside to the gas bottles and switch knob from one gas bottle to the other. If both gas bottles appear to be empty, there is a shifter in the second drawer to reconnect the third gas bottle.
For your added security, "The Lodge" is only managed in Australia and we never request payments be made to overseas accounts.

Terms and Conditions of Holiday Letting
1. There are to be no parties, nor any other types of functions held at this property
2. Each guest is expected to behave in a manner which is conducive to the safety, comfort and convenience of other guests within the property and surrounding properties.
3. Disturbance of neighbours (immediate neighbours have office contact details), including excessive noise, is prohibited and will result in termination of rental. includes noise outside after 10pm.
4. A breach of house rules includes: any extra people on the premises at any time; noisy, offensive and/or unruly behaviour; damage to or destruction of property; improper or unseemly conduct; any act or omission which, in the opinion of the Manager, adversely affects or brings discredit upon the Manager, the owner or other guests.
5. The property is let for only the number of persons specified and agreed in email correspondence. These particular individuals are referred to as guests. There must not be any additional person on the property at any time.
6. It is a requirement that you leave the property in a clean condition, similar to that in which it was found. Your rental includes a general clean. Excess charges will apply if you leave a mess. You are responsible for the cost of stain removal for walls, carpets and upholstery, such as beer, wine, food, muddy feet, extreme sand or excess cleaning required for the kitchen.
ALL kitchen items must be put back where they belong, no dirty dishes left behind on your departure day. Please also make sure that ALL items you have washed up.
Please DO NOT rearrange kitchen items.
ALL rubbish needs to be taken outside. Excess rubbish that does not fit in the bin must be removed.
Please DO NOT REARRANGE cupboards or furniture. Please leave the BBQ clean.
Damage, breakages, theft and loss are the tenants’ responsibility during their stay and if noted on inspection by our cleaners/managers will be charges against you.
7. This is a NON SMOKING residence. Smoking is not permitted indoors. Do not smoke inside any area of the residence. Please be a courteous smoker if you do smoke (outside only) and ensure the wind does not blow it inside. DO NOT leave cigarette butts, dirty ashtrays or put butts in the garden planters.
8. Booking website controls all payments and cancellation policies. Please refer to these conditions.

What a perfect place to stay! It was within walking distance of Stanley main street, wonderful view of the Nut and beach.
The house had well appointed sitting areas, plenty of kitchen equipment, comfortable beds and large bathroom.Accolades to the owner for the thoughtful and tasteful decorations.
Would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.

The property is perfectly situated in the township of Stanley with everything being in walking distance. The Lodge is spacious and was well fitted out with all that we needed to make our family getaway a memorable one.

Spent two days in Stanley and found the location of the Lodge easily as the building makes a statement in the street scape. It was close to the main town area and provided a casual walk to the beach and all that Stanley has to offer.

I really enjoyed staying at the lodge. It had everything one would need but was very homely and comfortable. It was convenient to everywhere.
The place had some wonderful features and it was a place that made you feel so much at home that you could have happily live there.

This property is great for family, a group of friends or a quiet getaway. The setting is beautiful, the attention to detail and the house itself was immaculate. I would definitely go back again with my family.

It was beautiful accommodation, with high ceilings, an amazing outdoor area where you have the view of the nut track, and the sound of the ocean. The location was perfect. There were even lemon slices in the fridge for us, which was a personalised touch. We loved the house, and will cherish the memories of our stay.

I have now stayed here several times and it is fantastic. Tastefully decorated, very well-equipped and exceptionally clean.
Being dog friendly is a big bonus.
A last minute change of dates was accommodated without issue by the owner and i am very grateful for this.

This is a great property for families. The bed configuration suited us really well. It can be difficult to accomodate a couple with 4 children. Great location. The high ceilings and period features of The Lodge made it special.

The Lodge is a former Masonic Temple which has been revamped into a large three-bedroom home. The body of the hall contains the spacious lounge and dining areas, a small study and the kitchen sits overlooking the living areas. The house is well heated and comfortable, and has all the cooking equipment you would need for a self catered stay.
The Lodge is located at the north end of the main street, at the base of "The Nut". The Stanley Hotel (great meals there!) and other eateries are all within a short walk, and the one hour walk around the township is not to be missed. Godfreys Beach is only a minute's walk away, and penguins can be found here at the right times of day.
We will certainly look to stay at The Lodge next time we visit this lovely and quiet township.

Lovely place, would definitely go back
We needed pet friendly accommodation for our dog, they allow dogs, which is great. The yard was fenced so ours could get some outside time. It's so close to the beach it's fantastic.
The place is big, and clean, with really anything you could want.
I loved it. I would love to go back again.

Perfect for us
Loved the lodge. Such a great space with a a lot of history. Would love to delve in to this more out of interest. Lodge us close to everything which was a bonus. View was spectacular and Stanley is the bomb.

Awesome time over christmas
My group of 6 stayed at the lodge over Christmas- was an amazing spot and we had a brilliant time. All rooms were very comfortable, amazing amount of space in the living room.
One thing to note if you are bringing a lot of food and drink as we did- there are just two small bar fridges in the kitchen available to store your cold items. Definitely worth bringing an esky or two if you like to cook your own food and chill lots of wine/beers! Such a brilliant spot- I would say the photos don’t do the property and it’s view justice! Simply beautiful.

Nice off-season retreat
the living space offers a nice set-up for the winter days, with rooms for everyone and different activities : a nice DVD in the TV corner, a game near the large window, a book near the fire place.

Amazing house in fantastic location
Don’t be fooled by the property frontage. Walk through the front door into a beautifully decorated historic building, yet it has all the modern home comforts and equipment you will need. Spectacular views of the nut and close to all amenities. We have already booked for next time.

Stanley getaway
We love The Lodge- this was our 6th trip. We try to go every year for a visit. It is so spacious and easy reach to everything in town. It’s lovely having our own resident penguins and being able to be close to them without them being scared, after all it is their property and we get to share it with for a few nights listening to them March up the streets and settle in under the cubby house.

Spacious house and great location
The old Masonic Lodge in Stanley has been converted into a spacious and convenient house. We were all very comfortable. Everything you can imagine you would need was supplied. There is ample and varied living space which lends itself to individuals doing some quiet work or just having their own space. I would recommend it for families with kids or a group of adults.

Perfect house in a perfect town
If you love history this is the place for you. The historic lodge provides plenty of space and is well appointed. Plenty of options for relaxing indoors and located to make the most of Stanley’s history, beaches and the nut. It even has items relating to the Masonic history of the property. Pet friendly and a great backyard was appreciated by our dog.

Location absolute!
This is our 2nd time staying here and it has been great. The location is just perfect whether it is for the beach, nut, town or park. Any issues were dealt with brilliantly and very fast. For our group it ticks and has ticked all the boxes again. Thank you.

Great getaway for couples or families
We had a 2 night stay. The property, as expected, is positioned with great views of the Nut and a short stroll to the beach. The property was nicely presented, clean and offers ample of room for families but also a great space for a couple and a fur baby or two. A lovely relaxing space and will be back!

Wonderful retreat for a short stay on the NW coast
This place was amazing! The location was excellent, the house was huge and very well equipped. We loved the ocean views, the cubby house, the spacious bedrooms, the back deck, everything.

The Lodge was absolutely fabulous. The location, the views from the lounge and from outside were magic. The cleanliness and presentation of the property were wonderful. Highly recommend anyone to stay.

Lodging at the Lodge
A fantastic place with great views and perfect location. It had everything we wanted and interesting how it was able to work with the layout of the old lodge with its main room and dais and some of its history was retained . Very spacious, clean and warm. Family loved it!
