This was no cookie-cutter vrbo home. This home has history, beauty, peace in spades. We stayed with our children and grandchildren (infant-5 yrs old) and the house accommodated us wonderfully. The huge screened in porch is where we spent lots of time. The lawn down to the beach was ideal for small children to play safely. It was so quiet...and the tides were phenomenal to watch coming and going. We cooked in all meals and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The owner was very responsive to our questions beforehand and during our stay.

The house was exactly as pictured, and the front porch was the whole reason for choosing this rental. We sat there every single morning for a couple hours before venturing out to a quaint town. We drove to Cambden, Rockport, Rockland, Popham beach, Bath and Freeport. I'd love to know the history behind this home. It has the best views! We had a great week here. Fred was very responsive and check in was super easy.

The bay and the house location is wonderful! We enjoyed walking around the bay at low tide or kayaking and swimming at high tide. The screened in porch was great, especially when the mosquitoes arrived. Great bird watching from the porch. Large lawn and very private setting.
House had plenty of room for us. We had six people- nice group around the dining table. Kitchen was nicely equipped. And the WiFi worked great - not always the case in Maine. The TV worked with many channels provided and there is a Bluetooth speaker in the living room.
A trip to Maine is often like going back in time - this house is vintage and weathered. Charming in it’s own way, but not your choice if you are looking for something modern. This place has it’s own special character.
The issue raised by other reviewers - the well water from the tap has a brownish color and a metallic smell. This is real. It’s not unusual for a house of this age and location to have this challenge. It is unpleasant, but not toxic. The owner thoughtfully provides a supply of drinking water.
We had a great two weeks here. Had to pull out a day early to avoid big storm Lee. Was sad to leave.

Maine stay
Great house with a lot of history. Enjoyed it very much. The only negative was a foul smell from the hot water. Other than that, everything was excellent!

Relaxing, Quiet, Beautiful area
This property was actually more impressive in person. It is right on the water and is not very close to other properties. The house was well appointed. It had everything we needed. I would recommend bringing some water gallons. The water is safe to use and consume, but it does have a yellowish color to it from the minerals/sediment. Also, there is another house on the property owned by the same owner. It is across the yard so it wasn't a big deal and the renters were respectful and polite. There is a washer and dryer in the basement of this property that is for use by both houses. It was fine, as there is no access to the living area from the homes basement. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation. We checked out Reid State Park, Five Islands, and we did a boat tour with River Run Tours out of Bath which was very fun. We would definitely come here again! Thanks to the property manager, Lisa. She was very responsive and helpful. She made some great recommendations for things to do.

Beautiful Setting; Felt like home immediately!
This was a great place! It really did feel like home as soon as we came in. The views were spectacular - and the night sky was a sight to see! Accommodations very comfortable, the wifi worked great with no problems. We had a really really lovely time. Thank you!

Great location
We enjoyed our stay at the White House. We appreciated the craftsmanship of the house and the great location. Beautiful sunrise, discrete and private beach and a lot of space for privacy. However, the pictures on the website must had been taken several years ago and in person the house needs some TLC. There is definitely a need for a new refrigerator. It was old and rusty. I do not think it was cleaned before we came. A lot of dust as well. The website stated that there was a WiFi but it was not working for the most of our stay there. I needed to do some work and was not able to do so. One may say it was a vacation so why did I need to work but I did.... It caused me a little bit of stress. Overall, we loved the property for its peaceful nature and serenity. Our dog, Max, was so happy running around. The lobsters were great too:):):)

Beautiful house in a most peaceful and beautiful setting. We had a lovely time with the family, young children and grandparents swimming, eating lobster, and digging for clams.

A week at the shore
This is a beautiful location to enjoy the beach. Great for kids because the bay is not deep. Do need to keep in mind that that tide goes out twice a day and leaves the bay mostly empty, but the kids enjoyed hunting in the mud for crabs, etc. Also know that there are a lot of mosquitos.
The view from the screened porch is exceptional. Perfect spot for a relaxing week with the family.

Wonderful Property
The minute we drove down the driveway and saw the bay at the end of the lawn we knew this was going to be a great vacation, and it did not disappoint. My family and I spent most of our days on the beach, walking the mud flats or sitting on the expansive screeched in porch. The location was peaceful and quiet, close enough to area attractions but far enough away to disconnect. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait to return. Thanks, Fred for the hospitality!

Amazing location
Our time here was far too short. The house is beautiful and the location incredible. Our boy Mitch loved the porch and yard to run around with the dog he met next door. Fred is so easy to work with and we couldn't have been happier. Thanks for providing the perfect house for the perfect week!

What a magical place!
My husband surprised me with a long weekend at this beautiful cabin. After we arrived, family members arrived. We were so delighted to have such a beautiful home, with an incredible view and sand beach! The house has everything you could need and, according to my husband and daughter, the owner was great to work with. Thank you, Fred!

Great house with wonderful water view
We rented the White House for a week in early September and had a great vacation. We wanted a dog friendly rental and this fit the bill perfectly. The yard, beach, and screened porch provided plenty space for them to run. We did day trips to Freeport, Portland, and Bath and visited Reid State Park, all close by. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. We would recommend this rental to friends and family.

Absolutely Perfect
The setting couldn't be better with an ever-changing "playground" of swimming, clamming, and walking in tidal flats. The house has the perfect updates to make it both modern and rustic Maine feeling. With a screening in porch that could hold many many folks it is top notch. I'm hoping to rent this for years to come.
Thanks

Reviewer Comments:
The location of the house could not be more beautiful. The views from the private sandy beach are astounding. The house itself is well cared for and comfortable. You feel like you are staying in a friends house. There were a few bumps with Turnkey. Firstly, cleaning finished late on the day we arrived. Turnkey called in advance to apologize and offer a voucher for a free meal. I called the number left in the message back and left a message to which no one responded. The internet also didn't work at the house. Turnkey folks were pretty helpful here, but ultimately the issue wasn't resolved until the day before we left. Help included dropping by to lend us a cellular wireless access point, but also it didn't have service at the house, so it made no difference. I realize this situation was largely beyond the control of Turnkey, but I expected someone to reach out after the fact and that never happened.

The house was perfectly situated for a weekend event we were attending. The grounds and beach are beautiful and the huge wrap around porch with many rocking hairs was delightful. It feels comfortable and homey. We had 5 adults staying and were very comfortable. The sunrises were beautiful!

We recently stayed at this classic and had a peaceful few days. The house is in a quiet location with a beautiful beach out the back door. The dog never wanted to get in the car because she was having so much fun outside. The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil you could possibly need with a great view. Overall it is what I expected from a classic Maine waterfront. If I could change anything it would have been the bed comfort but it wouldn't keep me from coming back. Planning on next year with me re family members.

Best spot in Georgetown!
This was our second year at the Whitehouse. Six adults and two teens had plenty of room and comfort in this beautiful house! Tennis every day, whiffle ball and corn hole games, searching for shells and relaxing on the screened in porch every day! Trips to Bath to eat breakfast at The Starlight Cafe and shop at Reny's are yearly traditions and dinner at Five Islands a few times too! We have spent many years vacationing in Georgetown and the Whitehouse is our favorite place to stay now!

A very special spot
Kennebec Point is a very special place that is simultaneously relaxing and filled with fun things to do. Our girls immediately learned the difference between low and high tides, and enjoyed both immensely—exploring in the mud when the water was out, and swimming in the calm when it was in. We made great use of the fine sandy beach and climbed on the rocks. We successfully clammed a dinner’s worth of good-sized clams after watching and learning from a local expert. We even enjoyed a beach bonfire with the state’s easy daily permitting process, which was available online.
We could tell the house itself is a long-time family treasure-- old but clean, well kept and comfortable. We enjoyed family dinners around the table every night. The kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils we needed, and the good quality linens and towels for each room were a welcome convenience. The large screened-in porch was in constant use, and a great place to enjoy the breeze and scenery.
The ocean beaches of Reid State Park are just a short drive away, as is the fair and ample general store. We took a schooner ride in Boothbay Harbor, less than an hour away. We also hiked in a nature preserve about a mile from the house. Other than that, there was absolutely no reason to leave what felt like our own paradise for the week.
Our family likes to explore new places, but Kennebec Point surely felt like a spot where we would all love to stay again. We will always treasure our time there.

An amazing place
We had a beautiful vacation at the White House. The weather was perfect for sunning, swimming, clamming, walking out on the sands when the tide was out searching for sand dollars and shells. Just awesome there and the house was beautiful and comfortable with it's huge screened in porch, no bugs on this trip, well, some green heads, but it's that time of the year. Thanks Fred and family for sharing your paradise with us. Carl, Bonnie and friends

Relaxing, clean, comfortable
This home was very enjoyable for us to stay in! It is clean, quiet, relaxing! We had plenty of room for the 7 of us. The yard was wonderful for playing whiffle ball every night. The beach was perfect for getting some sun and when the tide was out there were a lot of shells to find and areas to explore.
The screened in porch is where we spent the majority of our time. The only hiccup was that the wi-fi was not very reliable, although not sure what can be done about that when on a beautiful island! It did not sway our feelings about wanting to stay here again at all. It was nice to unplug for a while!
I highly recommend this vacation rental !

Spacious, comfortable, restful with amazing views
Our family (four adults) just returned from one of the most restful and beautiful vacations we've ever had. The Georgetown house is very spacious and comfortable with lots of natural light. Many of the rooms look out on to the ocean which is cool. It has a huge screened-in porch with views towards the open ocean and the more tranquil Sagadahoc Bay. Comfortable rocking chairs are there for many hours of bug- free viewing. The porch was our favorite place. There is also an open air section of the deck with a new grill. We spent most of our week out there watching the tides come in and out, the fish jumping, and the migratory birds landing and taking off. With the bay practically at your doorstep it was like having your own private beach with an ideal location to launch a kyak, go claming at low tide or swimming. The house sits up on a hill so there is a pleasant breeze flowing up from the bay. The house has lots of interesting objects (including a well-stocked library) and is very clean. We highly recommend this place! It's very private though there are neighbors within walking distance. The town of Bath is about a 20 minute drive, Brunswick , Freeport, and Portland are also within a short drive. So there is lots to do but we found that we wanted to stay put in the house because it was such a beautiful place.
