Work trip made easy!

We organised the rooms at late notice so our check in time was after hours. Staff without being asked accommodated us straight away and had our rooms made up and ready to go. We also had to unexpectedly book an extra night the day of our original checkout, and the staff once again came to our rescue and worked things around us so our staff could remain in their original rooms. It may not seem like a lot, but when the stress from working away from home becomes high, it’s a nice relief to have people go above and beyond to make your time as comfortable and stress free as possible.

Good location. Good value for money, however the motel is a bit old, especially the bathroom.

Location is amazing, near to the beach, good for a walk, and 5 min driving to Forster main st.

Bathroom photos advertised are not the actual photos of the bathroom, at least of the room that we were allocated.

Traffic noise, unrenovated room but that is reflected in the price

For a short stay it met all our requirements.

Staff very friendly. Easy to find; well located; walk to shops.

We received rooms which were not yet fully renovated, so some bits a bit dated and tired but it was clean and comfortable. We were also w elderly people on second floor rooms so stairs a bit of an issue.

Good location.

Location was good. The staff had made an attempt to jazz it up with nicely displayed towels and toiletries.

Very tired old motel in great need of painting, reno, improvement. Cracked and missing tiles in the bathroom. Kitchenette very cramped and looked as though it had been water damaged. We had a booked a pool view room but the pool 'view' was blocked by an awning.

We have stayed 3 times now and will be back but the upstairs rooms need to be upgraded as they are getting old. While very clean just getting old. Our shower door was broken and beds need to be upgraded.

I didn’t end up staying the night because I had an allergic reaction causing a asthma attack and drove home 4 hours

The pool area was so beautiful and well maintained

The rooms were not cleaned well still hair on the floor in the bathroom very dusty

Seemed understaffed and therefore very little communication.

Clean, tidy and very centrally located, good for a one night stay if you are road tripping and need somewhere to stop.

We were caught out in a storm while camping and took longer than usual to pack up our wet gear. I wasn’t sure if we would be able to make it to the motel before reception closed at 6pm, so I decided to let them know that we may arrive just after 6pm and ask what the check in process is in case reception is unmanned on arrival. I sent that message at 3 PM (on a Thursday, regular work day, peak time during New Years holidays) leaving sufficient time to respond. At the same time, my partner gave them a call at the number they had listed, left a voicemail with the request for a callback because we had a few questions. Nothing came back - no message, no callback. Reception was closed on arrival (just before 6). We called the number again, leaving another message, as nobody picked up. Shortly after we were called back letting us know somebody was coming over. When the receptionist/manager came, she informed us that she was just about to put our key under the door mat. She also made an out-of-context comment about my nationality when I asked why they didn’t respond to my communication, which came across rather unprofessional - she addressed my partner about it, speaking about me in the third person while I was standing right there. It seemed to confuse her as to why we would even use the messaging service on Booking.com. I’m left wondering - should I have guessed that the key would be under the door mat? For reference- I had not been given a room number prior to our arrival and had no way of knowing what door mat to check under. I think these are basics - making sure your guest receives all instructions needed to get into their room and responding to any queries they may have. Room for improvement here.

It was such a pleasure to stay at South Pacific Palms Motel.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very accommodating and helpful. Rooms were very clean. The kids totally enjoyed the swimming pool. We would definitely come back again and stay if in the area. Thank you.
