Good value for money & helpful staff, but not a great location!

This property deserves more guests! It is a great value for money! The staff is helpful. I paid for a bunk bed and got the entire area for myself! Breakfast was OK. The decor topclass, it is a wooden property and the sit-out, the garden etc are too good! They even have a workstation and a barbeque!

Location is slighly away from the city centre! But then it would cost a lot more if it were nearer! Also since there's no supermarket or restaurant immediately nearby, perhaps they can arrange a phone-order system with some such companies.

Great spot in San jose !

Owner is incredibly kind/helpful. Spacious dorms with lockers and curtains. Feels very safe. Well equipped kitchen. Great place to get decent sleep before a flight since it's more quiet. Also great breakfast included! They catered to my gluten intolerance also!! :)

Very little. If I'm picky I could say didn't manage to get hot water from the shower.... but maybe my fault.

Efter en lang flyvetur var det skønt at kunne slappe af. Sidde i gårdhaven og nyde kaffe og en øl.

Personalet er bare så søde og hjælpsomme. Udearealerne er super. En lille oase i midtbyen. Morgenmaden er lækker.

Fantastic stay would recommend!

Beautiful property Very friendly, lovely family running the hostel Everything was very clean & they had cool extra touches, cool couch area out the back & hammocks Breakfast was delicious Room was small but lovely & comfy Lots of restaurants close by, ATM around the corner

Was a little far from town but a cheap Uber ride sorted that out!

Clean Hostel with an excellent cooked daily breakfast!

WOW - this is a family run hostel and you can tell they care about the guests. It is very, very clean. Your dorm bed is made for you every day - how's that for customer satisfaction! Breakfast is a cooked breakfast with fresh fruit every day. I went from the dorm to a private room when I had to extend my day. The private room was spacious and clean with balcony. There is a pretty garden where you can listen to the birds (& train that passes once in a while!). The will do your laundry (small fee). Uber rides are very inexpensive from the hostel to downtown (20min walk). I recommend this hostel and would not have extended my stay here had it not been exceptional.

No full length mirror in the dorm room!

The perfect hostel to spend a few days to explore San Jose

This is the second time I stayed here and it will remain my go-to hostel in San José. The quality you get for this price is unmatched. The breakfast is good and fresh every day and it is very clean. They've added a co-working space since my last stay. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend it more.

Tolles Hostel um San Jose zu erkunden

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Tolles Hostel mit gutem Frühstück. Der Ramen zum Abendessen war klasse.

Am Morgen musste man am Bad Schlange stehen, da die Kapazität für alle Gäste zu gering ist - alle Gäste wollten gleichzeitig abreisen ;-)

lovely hostel!

A lovely hostel with super nice owners, very clean and well maintained. The garden with the fairy lights i was very pretty and the breakfast was really good :) I appreciated the opportunity to buy a SIM-Card (a lot cheaper than at the airport) and an adapter for a good price. The Wifi is very good and they have some desk where its possible to work. I can only recommend this hostel!

It was excellent and I’ll come back when I return to San Jose, for sure!😍

Lovely little hostel within easy walking distance of the National Museum and shops. I stayed in the private double room, with a sweet little balcony and private bathroom. The hosts are lovely and helpful, great kitchen for your convenience and there’s a Fresh Mart a 10 min walk away with food and drinks. Such a relaxing stay, and free coffee at 7 am.

It was a chilly rainy couple of days and I was really wishing for hotter water in the shower….

Excellent place for a stay in San Jose

Common area is really nice. Some new workstations were set up while we were there. Outside garden area is lovely. David and his team are super friendly and efficient. Laundry service available upon request. Also ramen noodle soup available for a fee - very handy and delicious! The room was clean and comfortable. Fingerprint locks meant no key to lose! Bed is massive and spacious.

Traffic noise was a bit loud, windows are a bit thin.

Recommend! Very nice, clean and safe hostel in San José

From the moment I arrive I felt welcomed. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, they have good recommendations for the city and the country. I met friendly people in the hostel and we had a nice time. Everything is clean and in good condition. I liked the open kitchen and the garden area very much. In the morning you get free coffee or tea. I was traveling alone and the surrounding area felt safe to me. It’s an easy walk to the city or to the neighborhoods escalante and California. Would definitely stay there again. Thanks again for your hospitality.

We had a lovely time staying at this hostel and will probably return before our flight back home.

Friendly staff, got good travel tips and recommendations for the city, clean rooms and lobby/ common area, kitchen to be used by guests, free tea and coffee in the morning, possible to go to the gym nearby (good and cheap), discount at restaurant nearby

Nothing really, the only thing I could think of: We left our baggage in the lobby because the staff said it would be safe there, nothing happened but we probably would have felt more comfortable knowing our bags were locked up somewhere and not in the common area.

Peaceful rest before an adventure filled 2 weeks!

A place to chill and relax.. not a party hostel!

Calm, laid back family run place in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to barrio Escalante and city center.. wifi was good, breakfast was awesome, First time I've experienced dorm beds getting made everyday with clean bedsheets and towel! The garden area was a nice place to chill. The family was very humble and welcoming.. will definitely stay again.

Loved everything about this place. The staff, the rooms, the location, everything was perfect and affordable.

Superb

The staff are super friendly and helpful with any query or problem, gave great suggestions on places to go. Everything was clean. Beds were comfy with towels provided. The breakfast was fresh and tasted delicious.

The lockers were too small to fit my backpack and not much space to put it anywhere.

Great safe and friendly place to explore the city from.

Super well run, safe and friendly. Nice rooms good value, walking distance from a couple great parts of the city. There is also used good charity box, and cooking and fridge, nice outdoor space.

The lights in the rooms were too white.

Basic but brilliant.

Great location with friendly hosts and an amazing breakfast, great way to start your trip in Costa Rica. We stayed for two nights - quiet neighbourhood next to lots of restaurants and bars. Comfy bed and nice balcony. Good value for money overall! thank you!

The room needs a little bit of an update/ shower wasn’t the best.
