About this house rental
Oriental is all about slowing down and relaxing….and that’s what we hope you do at our turn-of-the-century home. Its been a place where our family has made memories for over50 years! Everyone who visits gets a sense that this home has been well loved and lived in….its NOT fancy but its comfortable and inviting. Whatever you do, DON’T RUSH…it's a small town built for long ambles, a bike ride or a little tennis or pickle ball….and of course Sailing. Oriental is the ”Sailing Capital of North Carolina”. The Neuse River is within site of our front porch.

This house is great! It is spacious, peaceful, and homey. The photos and description of what to expect are very accurate. It has a great, historical vibe that makes you feel right at home. The bedrooms are very large and comfortable. The kitchen is very functional and has most everything you need to cook meals. We also used their gas grill that worked well for our purposes. We really loved this place and highly recommend it. We will try to rent it again in the future.

We enjoyed staying in this historic 2 story home with lots of room for reading and relaxing. Just 2 blocks from the river for a morning and evening stroll. I would book again. Thanks for hosting us!

This older home was perfect for our family with 3 kids. Great location one block from the beach, one block from a park, and a few blocks from the shops on the main drag. The upstairs shower leaked through the ceiling, a known problem the owners were working on fixing, but we were fine using the other shower. We will definitely be back.

I love the old house, especially the wooden floors. Everything was easy and convenient here. We had no issues and really enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful experience staying here with family for the weekend. We have 3 kids (4, 6, and 9), and my parents joined us too. The kids shared a room and each had their own bed, with a bathroom just next door. The 2 living areas made it easy to spread out when we wanted to. We loved the proximity to the little beach, park, and town dock. We hope to stay here again in the future!

It was everything you could ask for in a vacation home. We had everything we needed and the host was very accommodating. We fell in love with the screened in front porch. This will be one of our highlights of the year.

There were 5 of us ages 60-70. The house was perfectly comfortable for us and could easily have accommodated two more. The two of us who didn’t care for stairs could use the downstairs bedroom and bath. The short walk to “downtown” Oriental was just right and the owner’s recommendations for eateries and shopping were spot on.

Loved this place. Like my grandma’s house. Could walk everywhere. Used the kitchen a bunch. TV easy to navigate. WiFi worked great. Highly recommend.

Such a comfy home in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed card games at the big dining room table and water fights in the yard. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was extraordinarily well stocked. I would recommend this place!

This historical home has lots of character and personality. The owners have made it very comfortable. We were there in mid-July, and it was typically hot. The AC works great, and when it cooled off in the evening, we enjoyed the screened in front porch and the rocking chairs. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need. We were especially grateful for the "mudroom" in the back of the house when our grandkids came in from sailing camp each day! Oriental is a delightful town, very pedestrian and welcoming. Several places have music on the weekends. Highly recommend,

We loved staying at this historical house in Oriental. The host was very helpful and prompt in responding to all of our questions. This home was perfect for our family of 6 and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely stay again!

Quiet neighborhood, close to the pier, small beach and playground.
Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and cooking utinesels.
Beds were comfortable and everyone had plenty of space.
There were a fair amount of roaches but the host does advise you in the paperwork they are doing their best to remedy the situation.
Would recommend staying here.

Our family stayed here for a wedding at a nearby venue. We were pleased to find a main floor bedroom so our elderly parents didn't have to negotiate stairs. We spent time relaxing in the cozy family room off the breakfast nook. This home has room enough for a large group to spread out. We are sure to return .

We were in town for a weekend for a family event and stayed at the property. We were mostly out and about and at the house at night to sleep. The beds were very comfortable, the house was spacious for 3 adults to all have their own space. It was in a great location to walk to the water and walk into town to the coffee shop. Very quiet neighborhood as well, so we slept comfortably. Owner was responsive and accommodating. Overall a great rental experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this unpretentious farm house with cozy corners, vintage and antique furnishings and loaded with all we needed for a long weekend. Neighbors are friendly and you can see the water from the front porch. We will definitely be coming back. A big thank you to the kind owners.

Large old home with lots of character and charm. The outside picture doesn't do it justice. Great neighborhood that is so quiet you can hear a pin drop which is exactly what we were looking for. Coffee at The Bean is close enough to walk . Two minute walk to the water.

That’s right a hidden treasure! Oriental has put the rest and relaxation back in vacation!
My family and I enjoyed many walks around the community, sitting at the waterfront park, going to the coffee shop, getting ice cream, and swimming at the beach around the corner!
We loved attending church! The Parish was welcoming and joyful! We were invited to Ms. Faye’s house for watermelon on the lawn and all 800 neighbors were so friendly!!
We drove to Atlantic Beach for the day and went to Beaufort the next day and had a great visit! However we were glad to leave the crowds and return to Oriental for rest and relaxation!
If you are looking for a joyful community that’s welcoming and beautiful then Oriental is the place!! A true hidden treasure!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property in Oriental...we enjoyed it so much, that we already plan to return in August! The neighborhood is quaint, the view of the river so peaceful...it was such a relaxing trip. If you book, I recommend grabbing dinner at Silos and making the short trek to Stryontown Beach. This little beach was secluded and one of the trees hosted a Osprey nest! It was truly one of the highlights of our trip!

We arrived in a downpour and the puddles in the front yard could have been a bad sign, but from the moment we set foot in the house, everything was perfect. Incredibly well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, comfortable rooms for TV viewing or just reading, lovely front porch. Very relaxing week. Thank you Mary!!

We traveled from Mississippi to visit family. We had an awesome time. The house was just as described, very clean and had everything needed. Very quiet and relaxing. The owner, Mrs. Mary is very responsive. It was Me, my husband and our 5 babies. This house was just what we needed to slow down and relax. We hope to plan another visit and would love to stay again!
