Quite place to stay

This is a beautifully situated lodge which feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. It is perfect for nature lovers, sporty types and fishermen. We celebrated our honeymoon and anniversary there. Rebecca the manager, went above and beyond for us. She did so many extra little things for us to make our trip memorable. Rebecca and the other staff member were wonderful. They really made our stay very special. Rebecca I can’t thank enough. Rebecca listened to what we hoped to achieve with our stay. She then planned our next couple of days to suit our needs. She made our stay completely unique to us. Best of all, I over heard her doing the same thing for every other guest. The bedrooms were comfy and the bed was a dream to sleep in. The two common areas were beautifully appointed and kept clean. The rooms felt homely and welcoming.

None of your own food is allowed on site. It is a bit restrictive however worth the sacrifice. The shower is on the small side but does have a wonderful shower head.

A true wilderness escape

Beautiful building and location, lots of cool animal sightings, very committed staff doing an excellent job, there's no phone reception or internet so absolutely the place to disengage with the world.

Far more remote than we realised, long dirt road going in and no services nearby, not allowed to bring food or bev onsite (this is listed on their website but was not on booking.com when we booked or stayed at the lodge) so completely reliant on lodge for these (but the food was excellent!).

Fantastic, tranquil stay in a remote property

Great food, great staff and fantastic natural environment in the middle of Tasmania, with no other hotel/house in sight, able to view lots of local animals such as Tasmanian Devils, Wallabies, Wombats, etc. Staff was super helpful and friendly and we had a most restful expereience here.

It is a rather difficult property to access (far from main roads, bumpy dirt road on the way in), but the remoteness is definitely part of the appeal of this property and part of the reason we loved it so much. Though one needs to be prepared for it.

Wilderness and wildlife with a touch of luxury

A great place if you like wilderness and wildlife. Not a conventional, impersonal hotel but a friendly lodge. Limited menu but that’s to be expected staying miles from anywhere. The food we had was excellent and I think the smell of the lamb shanks must have attracted the Tassie Devils - didn’t expect to see one looking through the window while we were eating! Bec’s local and extensive knowledge was good to hear too.

A really surprising, interesting, enjoyable and relaxing stay.

The entire experience of Thousand Lakes Lodge is exceptional - it's very secluded, quiet, and a great way to experience the Thousand Lakes Area. We spent three days hiking in the Walls of Jerusalem National Park before we arrived, which was perfect, as the luxury at the end of the trip was very enjoyable.

the property itself was lovely.

The property was run as off the grid, there was no kitchen to access if you were hungry. Dinner was nice but if you wanted afternoon tea, if your not happy with a chocolate bar over a packet of chips you are going to go hungry. for most of our stay we felt like we weren’t welcome. we got there a little early and we felt like we put the staff out. simple request, we were told they don’t offer that or we are off the grid, using it as a Excuse not to meet the needs of the people paying to stay there. The alcohol provide while it was the best of Quality, at $30 for 30mls. the could offer a more price friendly alternative.

Exceptional

Everything! The accommodation was off grid which allowed for utter serenity. It was great to see so much wildlife right outside the door. Everything was incredible, food, rooms, views, the staff. Would recommend to all.

A very special remote lodge, a stay here is highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was really nice especially considering the remoteness of the lodge. The lounge room, the den and the views were exceptional. The wildlife was very special as well. The hostess was very attentive and accommodating.

Superb

Loved the remote location and not having a proper internet connection so that I could enjoy my stay more with connecting to the nature. Clean room, delicious food, warm and cozy interior and great staff. We were so lucky to have a some good snow fall and then a gorgeous sunrise! I’d love to go back for some astrophotography!

Warm, cosy & relaxing inside. Wildlife, nature and snow outside - The lodge is truly magical!

This was the most magical stay. The common area was so cosy with the big fire, dim lights and relaxing music. There was only 3 other couples staying at the time so it felt really quiet where you could relax on your own or mingle and get to know other people. The beds are 10/10 (a must for us). There is an abundance of activities, things to read and of course wildlife galore outside including Wallabies, Wombats and Tassie devils. The food was amazing and the host Bec was incredibly helpful, kind and made sure that everyones experience at the lodge was truly memorable. We could not recommend it highly enough. A must!

Wonderful wilderness stay

Beautiful decor - immediately felt very homely and comfortable. Modern and stylish. The location was so peaceful with a lot to see and plenty of options to explore the local surrounds at all times of day. Beautiful communal spaces and great facilities/gear that could be borrowed.
