About this house rental

Your year round mountain retreat is in awesome Tahoe Donner on the golf course - great for summer and winter! Just a 2 minute drive (or a refreshing walk) to Trout Creek Rec Center, The Lodge (golf and great dining) and Z Marketplace & Deli.

Our home is ideal for large groups or multiple families. It has five large bedrooms (2 en-suite) and four full baths. In addition, the large square hallway upstairs has a trundle bed. Beautifully decorated and equipped, this is your home away from home!

The Town of Truckee has recently implemented Short Term Rental rule and policies. A binder with house rules, check-out check list and HOA short term rental rules is on the kitchen counter. If you would like a summary of the Short Term Rental Rules, please message the host prior to confirmation of your reservation.

WHEN YOU STAY AT OUR HOME YOU ARE AGREEING TO ABIDE BY THE TOWN OF TRUCKEE SHORT TERM RENTAL RULES AND OUR HOUSE RULES.

Please pay particular attention to the strict rules for Quiet Hours 10 PM to 8AM every day, as well as garbage handling instructions (which are also posted in the binder as well as on the door going into the garage from the house. Fines may be assessed by the Tahoe Donner HOA for violation of short term rental rules that start at $500. You are responsible for any fines assessed as a result of your stay.

We are on a level lot with access to the house directly from the driveway or the garage – no stairs to enter! The entry into the house via the front door has a vestibule for removing boots and coats with a second door to access the living room. The large living room has a tall vaulted ceiling, plenty of comfortable seating, gas fireplace, 55” 4K Smart TV with cable TV as well. There is also DVD player and dozens of movies in the living room and downstairs bedroom. Challenge your friends to a game of chess at the chess table or play numerous board games.

Adjacent to the living room is a dining room with a large table that can accommodate up to 12 people. There is also an adjacent kitchen counter top with seating for 3. Access to the large back yard deck is outside of the dining room. In the summer the deck has two tables with chairs and umbrellas. Extra out door chairs with attached tables are in the garage. We have a horseshoe pit in the backyard with lawn chairs to enjoy the game or watch the golfers The hot tub is adjacent to the deck stairs as you enter the back yard. NOTE: The hot tub is not sheltered so in the winter it will get surrounded by snow which may limit access to it.

The kitchen has granite counters, gas stove and oven, microwave, side by side refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and walk in pantry. The butcher block island and a well-equipped kitchen will please any chef. Side by side windows extending the entire length of the kitchen counter provide great views to the backyard and golf course.

Rounding out the first floor is a bedroom with a queen sized bed and adjacent full bath with shower. The hall way from the kitchen provides access to the garage.

Upstairs are four large bedrooms, all with vaulted ceilings, and three full bathrooms and a large laundry room. Each master suites (two in total) have king size beds and en-suite bathrooms. Both have tubs and showers, one of them has a large Jacuzzi tub. The larger master has a 55 in wall mounted 4k Smart TV. Bedroom number three has set of 4 bunk beds with a 50” 4K Smart TV for gaming and movies. The fourth bedroom has a bunk bed with a double bed on the bottom and single on top. In the square hall way upstairs is also a trundle bed with two single beds (the trundle bed is in the upstairs hall way so it’s a public space.) Our home is approximately 3200 square.

In the winter, the driveway is cleared by our snow service on snow days. If you have multiple cars on your visit, please be aware that cars may need to be moved to allow clearing of the entire driveway.

Pets: We may allow a single, house broken pet WITH PRIOR APPROVAL- please message the host for approval. There is an additional cleaning fee of $50 per pet.

RULES FOR CHECKING OUT – CHECK OUT TIME IS 11 A.M:

Here is your CHECK OUT CHECK LIST (part of the House Rules). This check out list is printed and in a small binder in the kitchen please take a copy so that you can use it to assist you in a smooth check out.

- Please put all dirty pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc. in the dishwasher upon departure. Nothing should be left on the counter , in the sink or elsewhere in the house. Load the dishwasher, fill it with DISHWASHER SOAP ONLY (Please DO NOT use dish soap like Dawn or similar as it will cause the dishwasher to flood). SANITIZE YOUR DISHES BY TURNING THE DISHWASHER ON BY PRESSING “ANITBACTERIAL” AND THEN “START”

- Please put any clean dishes, pots, pans and other kitchen items back where they belong according to the labeled drawers and cabinets in the kitchen.

- All bedding sheets only (NOT BLANKETS OR BED SPREADS) and towels that have been used need to be put in the laundry room on the floor. Leave blankets and bedspreads on the beds. If a bed was not used, please do not strip it so the cleaning crew knows that it has not been used. If a bed spread or blanket has been soiled for any reason, please put it in the laundry room as well and notify your host.

- Please load and start one load of the dirty sheets/towels and add detergent and fabric softener (supplied in the laundry room). Both liquids can be put into the marked container in the pull out drawer on the top left of the washer. Turn on to “Sanitize Wash” prior to your departure. Starting one load of laundry helps to keep cleaning costs down for our large home.

- Refrigerator: Please remove all food and other items from the refrigerator and freezer upon check out.

- Turn off the gas fireplace by putting the Fireplace Thermostat in the OFF position. The Nest thermostat will be adjusted automatically and does not require any manual intervention.

- CLOSE AND LOCK all windows and doors and shut all window and door shades (upstairs and downstairs). PLEASE PUT THE WOOD STICK IN THE TRACK OF THE SLIDING GLASS DOOR IN THE KITCHEN FOR ADDITIONAL SECURITY.

- Hang the Tahoe recreation passes on the coat rack in the garage hallway

- If you used the Hot Tub, please make sure you have put a chlorine tablet in the skimmer after your last use AND please set the temperature to 85 degrees. Cover the hot but with BOTH covers and lock the straps into the receptacle for each. PLEASE PUT BOTH COVERS BACK ON THE HOT TUB.

- Put all garbage from the kitchen and all other trash receptacles in the garbage cans at the end of the driveway that are inside the bear proof container. Recyclables in blue, tied bags can go in the bear bin but do not need to go in the two barrels in the bin. PLEASE follow trash handling instructions on the door from the garage to the house.
To open the door of the container, there is a wrench hanging from a metal wire on the outside of the box. Insert the wrench and turn to open. When closing make sure to lock to door with the wrench. We do have bears in Tahoe Donner and we don’t want to tempt them with human garbage.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY GARBAGE IN THE GARAGE OR THERE WILL BE DEDUCTION FROM YOUR DEPOSIT.

- Turn off ALL INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR lights

- Lock interior door from garage to the house, lock door to the garage by the front door, and lock the front door upon departure. To lock the front door press ‘YALE” on the key pad.

THANK YOU, AND WE HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR HOME AS MUCH AS WE DO!

Lovely home with lots of space for families. We stayed with our 2.5 year old and several friends for a wedding. There was plenty of room for everyone to comfortably have their own space while still having gather spaces for everyone to enjoy time together. The neighborhood is lovely and we had a nice time walking around. Close to Truckee for restaurants and such. We would definitely come back.

loved the house, location, view, comfortable beds, lots of space, well stocked kitchen. We had lots of snow so it was hard to get to the hot tub, had some issues with plumbing. It was on Easter Sunday so it was hard to address promptly . All in all this is a sweet house in a great location. Owner is responsive to issues

I really appreciated the cleanliness of this home. It was spacious and included all the amenities we needed for a long family weekend. Tahoe Donner Ski Slopes are 5 minutes away and the cute town of Truckee is very close.

This house has lots of space, is easy to access from the driveway (huge plus to get your food and drinks into and out of the house at driveway level, plus not to steep while entering and exiting in your vehicle) and had everything we wanted. The hot tub is a challenge in winter, but someone dug some steps in the snow so it was accessible. They had some sleds and snow shoes which is nice, but we didn’t use them. The instructions were clear and precise. We were 6 adults and 6 teens and we did not feel cramped. Kitchen was stocked, plenty of towels, and extra blankets. This house fit our 3 families perfectly. The only minor issues was the hair drier did not work. My wife specifically asked if it was listed and did not pack hers because it is listed. The common thing with these houses is also the small cans in the bear box which is limited in size. Since we were 12, we filled those quickly but each family took a bag or two home so we didn’t want to overfill the bear box, not a big deal, but a lockable trash box in the garage would be helpful. Overall, this house fit our group very well, and we would recommend.
