As amazing as the photos on this listing are, they don't even really do justice to how spectacular it is. The view is as good as you can find anywhere in Hawaii, and we watched sunset every evening from the lanai. Easy access to lots of beaches without ever needing to go into Kona.

The home is very well equipped and exceptionally well decorated with a variety of original artwork. It feels like a home rather than a rental.
The on-site (downstairs) caretaker, Vee, is very caring and helpful without being intrusive.
This was a very relaxing place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at Kona Paradise. Just walking to the door makes you feel enveloped in aloha. Those 180 degree beach views were as advertised. Every night we were on the lanai watching the sunset. Love the sounds of nature throughout the day. Very comfortable, clean, great instructions and friendly assistance if we needed it (we didn't!). Beach gear (towels, water shoes, snorkel gear) available for use. Loved it!

My husband and I recently stayed at Michele’s home in Hawaii and we had an amazing time! The home was exactly as listed, the amenities were plentiful (it had everything we needed), and the view of the ocean and sunsets from the deck is gorgeous. This neighborhood is a little quieter and slightly farther away from Kailua-Kona than others, but that’s exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend Michele’s home to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful time on the island. Thanks again, Michele!

Perfect stay for my wife and I, and a friend. The views were just as shown, we enjoyed our mornings on the deck having coffee and breakfast, then at the end of the day, sunset. The pictures were all as shown. Vee, our hostess was a delight. We would love to come back here next time.

We were celebrating a fiftieth birthday and a 10 year anniversary.
Upon arrival, the homes grounds were beautiful. The lanai was awesome with wonderful 180 views of ocean. I as well as my family literally could have spent the entire time there. The home was quaint and homey. The art was great.
As mentioned by many, there were several critters. Coqui frogs and geckos especially. The coqui frogs were crazy and the geckos everywhere but did not bug us. My sister was wary at first, but ended up naming 2 lol.
The on site host, who stays in the downstairs portion of the home, separate entrance, was so nice and sweet. She provided great recommendations.
The owners were very responsive to our questions.
The homes rely on rain water so you need to be cautious of that.
We would all highly recommend this home for families or couples. If you can, try to get any food or necessities in kona as the home is not very close to stores as mentioned many times.
The black pebble beach down the road from house was beautiful and nobody there when we went. Apparently there was a rough surf during time there so we couldn't swim there, but the views, waves and rocks were beautiful.
We want to thank the owners and host for allowing us to stay in your home. It was such a wonderful experience.

The house was nestled on the hillside overlooking a spectacular ocean view. The house is lovely with tropical gardens surrounding the home with songbirds by day and peep frogs at night. There is always a beautiful breeze to keep you comfortable on the huge deck that extends the living space. Great home to relax after a day of exploring. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms and great common spaces with a nicely stocked kitchen for meal prep. Thank you Ron and Michele! We loved our time in your beautiful home.

What a pleasant and enjoyable experience to stay in your lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. The views and sounds are stunning. You have a great host to greet your renters. Vee is a gem, treasure her.

I stayed here with my husband and our 3 kids (ages 20 months to 7), and we had a great time. The property is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many beautiful flowers and interesting plants. The house was well stocked and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and welcoming.
You may notice in the listing there is no air conditioning. We truly did not need it, and the place was a comfortable temperature throughout our whole stay.
Some things to be aware of (and these are not complaints by any means. Just things to know before you come): The place is not close to very much. Make sure you stop at a store on your way to the place because there are not stores very close by. You’ll need to plan to drive to pretty much everything you want to do. Pebble Beach is close by, and we caught a lovely sunset there.
If you have a toddler or small kid you’ll need to plan to watch them well on the balcony just because it’s high up. We had no problems of any kind and the home is safe. There are some beautiful decorations that you may want to move out of reach of little hands while you are there.
We had a great stay and overall recommend this as a great option for your vacation.

Amazing place to stay on the Big Island, set in a veritable Garden of Eden. Beautifully decorated, furnished, and hosted, the house is quiet, with beautiful ocean views and spectacular sunsets. We were lulled to sleep every night by Island breezes and the chirping of tree frogs. We loved every second of our stay and we would love to stay there again. Great location too.

Beautiful view and surroundings. Had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of room for our family. Will need a car if wanting to see other areas of the island. Would highly recommend.

The rental is the upper unit in a lovely home, in a gorgeous garden, in a "real" neighborhood called Kona Paradise. The caretaker lives in the bottom unit, and we had all the privacy we wanted, esp as the house next door had no one staying in it.
The house is 20 min south of Capt Cook, perfect for day trips over to Hilo and Volcano National Park. 20 min drive for groceries, restaurants and gas.
The house is very well furnished--nothing felt worn out, or cast off. Two comfy chairs on the deck, along with a table that seats six. Great view of the ocean in the distance-- with a few power lines visible. Spent most of our time on the spacious deck (with the geckos), and at the end of a day of sightseeing, were grateful to come home to such a peaceful, beautiful setting. Extra bonus: all the birds singing in the morning and frogs croaking at night. Bring mosquito spray for evening use.
No a/c and a/c wasn't needed.
The ad doesn't promise housekeeping goods beyond a start-up supply, but we found four extra rolls of toilet paper, plenty of dishwashing liquid and dishwasher tabs, liquid hand soap, two rolls of paper towels, a new dish sponge, and abundant laundry supplies. There was a small amount of aluminum foil, no plastic wrap, no baggies or napkins. + supply of left-behind spices, oil, vinegar. Thanks for all the dishtowels. One welcoming bag of coffee. Lots of snorkeling supplies, and at least two boogie boards-all in good shape. Many bath and beach towels. Delightful overall.

Great view from large veranda and windows in living room. Just up the hill from nice beach suitable for snorkeling, sunbathing and boarding. Bed was very comfortable

This place is amazing! We checked in after dark so didn’t get to see the view until morning. The wrap around porch with sliding door from each bedroom leads to the front porch with expansive view of the ocean. Captain Cook is about an hour from the airport. Truly a paradise in a quiet neighborhood. Closest restaurant and grocery store is about 25 minutes so you need a car for sure. Windows open all week. Beach gear, laundry and outdoor shower a plus. Great location to begin your exploration of the big island!

This place is absolutely gorgeous! The views, the garden and the hospitality. We had everything we needed. Our son loved watching the geckos and looking for critters in the stunning garden. We were serenaded by coqui frogs and birds at night and slept like babies. Vee is the hostess with the mistress. Definitely much better than staying in town.

We were so grateful for our hosts, who did so much to accommodate us. We especially loved being out on the incredible lanai!

Had a great time staying there. The house was very nice and beautifully decorated. The grounds were beautiful. It was what we were looking for: quiet, private and laid back. It was a nice touch that they had the basics like dish soap, paper towels, etc. to start out with. Amazing view from the porch! We were a little concerned about not having AC but were assured by the owner that at this time of year with the elevation it would be cool for sleeping and she was right! We slept under the blankets and awoke to the sounds of birds in the morning. They had an on-site house caretaker on the first floor which was nice if there were any problems and also we didn't have to worry about someone stealing of things. The local black rock beach was beautiful. We didn't swim there, but went down for sunsets a couple of times. There are a couple of beautiful beaches nearby also. They also had beach chairs and boogey boards that we could use which was good. The owner also called to make sure that everything was alright. We stayed for a week and loved it. Would definitely come back!

Gorgeous morning and evening views! Nice neighborhood with singing birds to wake up and Coquí frogs after the rains. Mahalo to the hostess Vee for the great support.

Honeymoon stay
This was a FABULOUS property! The gardens, view and home itself were amazing - as was the host. We loved staying here. It was our first trip to the Big Island and we didn't realize quite how much driving we would need to do staying here (our inexperience). If you plan to sit on the deck and take in the views, this place is about as perfect and relaxing as it gets!

Terrific Big Island destination!
We just returned from a wonderful week long stay at Kona Paradise. The weather was ideal and the property was delightful. Michele was extremely responsive in the booking process as well as during our stay.
The tropical gardens are absolutely amazing and the ocean views from the deck are gorgeous. Every evening we had a different but beautiful sunset. The kitchen and the activity closet are extremely well stocked with just about anything you could possibly want for cooking and for water activities.
We would highly recommend staying at Kona Paradise!

Beautiful
This property is the quintessential Hawaiian residence, the home is beautifully decorated, very clean, the view is spectacular and the hostess is very accommodating, friendly, helpful and works hard to keep the wonderful trees and plants on the grounds in excellent condition which truly makes you feel like you are visiting paradise. The lanai is terrific for watching the sunset, spotting whales or having morning coffee. You are out of the congestion of Kailua-Kona, close to historic Kealakekua Bay and the black sands of Ho'okena Beach. There is an ample supply of beach chairs, snorkels, coolers, etc. We felt fortunate that we were able to find this property.

Amazing Place to Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed out time at this lovely home. The view cannot be beat! I loved falling asleep to the sounds of the frogs and birds every night (it was even better when it rained). The owners for very quick to respond to any issues that came up.

Beautiful views, lovely accommodations
We had a great stay at Michele’s place. The accommodations were clean, private and remote. We had spectacular views of the ocean from a beautiful, wrap around porch.
I worked during the week on East Coast hours and had great internet service and enough room to work without disrupting my wife.
There is a pretty cool Pebble Beach at the bottom of a pretty steep road about 1/2 mile down the hill (and 3/4 mile walking up….felt like that!).
The location is 20-30 minutes away from places to eat on winding roads.
I would definitely recommend Michele’s place.

This house is amazing!!!! The full wrap around lanai is so awesome!!! The view from this house is breathtaking. It literally is surrounded by the most beautiful gardens trees flowers and statues.. a tropical rainforest!!! So many amenities available for our use. Absolutely thrilled that it was a green house and water source was itself from rain collection!!! Beach equipment was available to use. We so enjoyed our stay here and awoke every morning overlooking the beautiful ocean and seeing gorgeous sunsets! Loved the decor and all of the artwork!!!! Loved our stay!!!!

Literally a tropical dream
We came to the house after 5 nights in Oahu, and I tell you, this is exactly what we were looking for. Not to throw shade at Oahu, but this property on the big island blew everything else away for us. The garden is so well maintained and breathtaking, we almost regretted going to a botanical garden before because this was just as neat! The house is gorgeously decorated, spacious and has a ton of natural light. Thanks to the elevation it stayed nice and cool throughout the day, and even felt a bit chilly some nights. The kitchen was superbly stocked; I was very pleasantly surprised how much I had to work with for my cooking. The property is pretty far away from everything, but trust me, it's one of the best parts. The treefrogs at night are magnificent (if you don't sleep with fans, though, might want to bring earplugs. Those suckers got loud!) And THE GECKOS! Oh we loved the geckos, they're so pretty. There is a pebble beach at the end of the road, which was never crowded (very limited parking, to be fair) and was so neat. We were able to swim and snorkel and sunbathe with ease. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor shower too.
Clearly we were fans of this house. If you're even considering renting here, just do it. You won't regret it!

Great property & even better view!
This property was beyond amazing! We have never been to Hawaii before so this was an incredible welcome to the island. Very clean and well take care of. They had everything we needed for the beach! 10/10 would stay here again.

Beautiful place, perfect location for us near family in Oceanview.
My mother-in-law who lives on the island was thrilled to celebrate her 93rd birthday with us at this beautiful place. She and my sister-in-law took pictures of every room. Just a couple FYIs if you come to enjoy it: “Sounds of nature” means birds during the day and frogs at night so if you need quiet to sleep it would be wise to bring some ear plugs. I used mine but my husband thought the noise was soothing, white noise. Like most Hawaiian homes, especially at this elevation, there’s no air conditioning, having all of the doors and windows open is the most comfortable. The master bedroom is beautiful but at just over 5’1” I would have been courting disaster to sleep in a bed that is so high off of the ground. Fortunately, the other bed was perfectly comfortable, only down side was the fan wasn’t quite as good in the less fancy room. The house had all that we needed for a day at the beach and was nice enough to relax in on the rainy afternoons. We hope to come back.

Just What We Needed
We truly enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, the sounds of nature that surrounded the property, the incredible ocean views and sunsets and especially the quiet and private beach at the bottom of the neighborhood (a hidden gem). It was so convenient to have all of the beach gear we needed at the house and to be able to pack lightly because we could do a load of laundry if needed. I truly had a hard time leaving and wished I could have stayed at least another week. It was easy to drop off trash down the road, hit the grocery store nearby and the kitchen had lots of supplies and storage to help us keep ants at bay for the owners. You won't be disappointed with this beautiful home. Thank you Croci family.

Beautiful location! Dreamy view!
Our stay was absolutely perfect! Michele was very responsive with all our emails leading up to our stay and even provides great information about the area and attractions. She went above and beyond to make sure our children were happy and bought small size snorkel gear for them to use. The house is surrounded by a lush tropical garden that make you feel like you are in a jungle. The kids loved exploring. The house sits along a steep hillside, so you feel like you are staying in a treehouse with the most breathtaking views of the ocean! That was such a treat to wake up to every morning and sip coffee on the lanai and enjoy the sunset at night. The house was clean and comfortable. Michele's artwork is displayed throughout the house and was a treat to look at! The only downside we experienced was the range seemed well loved. The dials for the stove were worn off, so it was hard to know the temp. The oven also seemed to cook uneven. There is no air conditioning, but we never found that to be an issue. The ceiling fans and ocean breeze seemed to keep the house at a comfortable temperature. Michele also has plenty of beach toys that we really appreciated using... snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. The property is south of Captain Cook and Kona. We never felt that we were too far from anything. In fact, this was our fourth trip to the island (have stayed at resorts in Kona and Waikoloa) and this was our favorite stay! The house, views, location and hosts were awesome!

Cottage with a view
Wonderful homey villa perched high on a steep hill offering panoramic views of the ocean, and surrounded by lush garden.
Authentic Hawaiian country community feel. We ate every night on the lanai with almost no bugs. We had the same power/water issue that Darla G. mentions in her review below which was also quickly resolved. Communications with the owners were excellent. Truly enjoyed being out of the touristy resort area. Mahalo

Great experience. Internet worked great for 2 people working remotely.Kitchen is well equipped, maybe owner should add InstantPot! Lanai is a joy. Temperature is on the lower side due to elevation. Roads are steep though manageable. Pebble Beach is great especially when water is calm you can go skorlimg right there.
