Villa Vigia is the crown emerald of Manuel Antonio. Perched atop Quepos Point, this Mediterranean luxury villa has postcard views of the ocean, beach, and national park. With 2.3 acres and over 7,000 square feet, it is also one of the area's most private and exclusive villas.
There are two master bedrooms upstairs, each with fantastic views. Each also has a king sized bed and queen sofa bed, AC, private bath, walk in closet and ocean-view balcony. The upper guest bedroom has 2 double beds and a set of bunk-beds (single on top, queen on bottom). The apartment is the odd ball out--reached internally via the kitchen, garage and laundry room--but is equally nice, with a king bed, its own kitchen, bathroom, and enclosed patio next to the gardens. Above it all is a roofed tower with some of the best views in Manuel Antonio of the beach, national park and nearby islands.
There are few properties in Costa Rica with such a perfect blend of luxury, nature, privacy and postcard ocean views! The area is largely forested, and thus there is lots of wildlife at the villa. Monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas and scarlet macaws are common sights. Within a 10 minute walk is Playa Biesanz--a quiet, cove beach good for paddle boarding and kids that don't like big waves. Within a 20 minute walk is Playa Espadilla--the main beach, and is 2km long. A quaint trail leads around the home through the rainforest and gardens. The villa has only one neighbor--behind and out of sight, which also makes it one of the most private villas in Manuel Antonio.
On the main level is a huge foyer, which doubles as a living area, a separate living area with a 72" flatscreen TV and outdoor patio, and a large dining room with a round table with enough space for 12. There is also a 'barbecue terrace' with a grill and huge pool bathroom.
Each rental comes with concierge, daily maid service (MTWTF), and a 24-hour caretaker/guard.

We have stayed at many places all over the world and have never experienced a home as amazing as this one. On a daily bases we seen 10or more monkeys, 2 sloths that live in the trees next to the pool, iguanas, birds etc. we saw more wild life at our home than we did in the national park. The house itself was a slice of paradise!! We had a group of 11 and had plenty of room, there was a daily housekeeper that came and tidy everything up and an amazing grounds keeper that was so kind and helpful. The location was perfect. We can’t wait to go back.

The house was beautiful, and the grounds were amazing. The pool was great, and had lots of space for all of us and spectacular ocean views. We also had regular visits from several monkeys, sloths, big lizards, (huge) butterflies and tons of birds (including macaws and parrots). It was like living in a wildlife sanctuary and it was really cool.
The house itself is a little older, and it’s starting to show some signs of age, but despite the age, the team taking care of the house does a spectacular job maintaining the property, and are ridiculously responsive to any issues. I think I texted Vanessa 2-3 times over the week we were there, with relatively minor (but urgent) issues, and every time Santos (the property caretaker) was addressing the issue within minutes.
Our only gripe, and we knew about it going in, was the lack of any AC in spaces outside the bedrooms. It was really hot during our stay, and it would have been nice to have a community space we could eat or just all hang out in that wasn’t oppressively hot. Again, the listing and reviews were clear, so it’s on us not knowing how hot it gets in March, but that was the only real downside we experienced.

We had an amazing stay from start to finish. They have everything covered so all you have to do is sit back and relax. Chef Sofia, Vanessa, Flacca, and Santos are so wonderful and truly add to the magic. Cannot wait to return!

Where to begin??? First, Vanessa, our concierge, went above and beyond the call of duty with our extended family of 12, ranging in age from 3 to 69. She helped us with everything with a smile, including setting up 3 tours to Manuel Antonio National Park, a boat ride, and a Sunset Sails Trimaran sunset and snorkeling cruise. She was very available, even on her day off which was her birthday! We had many requests, including several taxi rides, a Visa that needed printed out, information about the house, shopping, etc. etc. We were late on arrival and she stayed late waiting for us to arrive, and giving us a house tour, and information about staying there, such as how to keep MOnkeys out of the house! I can't say enough about her service and availability and her communication before and throughout our stay. Her English is excellent, and we probably relied on her so much since we had very limited Spanish. Thank you Vanessa!
The house, or should I say MANSION, was like staying in a castle. The online photos do not do it justice, and it has many nooks and crannies to hang out, including several dining areas inside and out. The kitchen was amazing, with everything one could imagine needing, including spices and coffee. Our sons and their families including 4 children, shared this space quite a bit, while us grandparents took the lovely apartment, which was fully air conditioned and had its own kitchen. It was quite hot (90-95 degreed) during our stay, so the pristine pool and fans in the house were very refreshing. The AC in the bedrooms was excellent as well.
The pool was incredible, and we spent most of our at house time in and around us, while the kids literally turned into fish! The first day and large family (about 20+) of Tika squirrel monkeys put on a show on the patio for us, wrestling, showing off, drinking pool water, looking for food, mommas and babies scampering around, for about 30 minutes. We also saw many white faced ,monkeys, a howler monkey, sloths, macaws, toucans, frogs, and many multi-colored iguanas on the trail around the house. Staying in Manuel Antonio was an unforgettable experience, and went way beyond any of our expectations.
The cleaning staff came in every weekday to wash towels, clean, and empty trash. We felt very pampered and sometimes told them it was not necessary to wash the towels every day. They were very friendly and quite accepting and tolerant of our lack of Spanish conversation. 10 stars****

This property is right in the middle of everything you will want to see between Quepos and Manual Antonio. Close to shopping, restaurants, bars, the beach, the marina, everything. Secluded and secure location with probably the best views of the beach possible.

Property was stunning and we had a daily parade of animals visiting us that made every day an adventure. Beaches were close by, pool was amazing. Everything was perfect. Staff were amazing. We were all sad to leave. Going back again soon!

This house is truly amazing. Really gorgeous and spacious with all the features anyone would want. The pool is WARM, and the nearby ocean is even WARMER - so fun to swim in. And the furnishings and kitchen equipment are perfect. The staff was always smiling and helping and immediately responsive. If you can visit the Manuel Antonio area and stay in this house, DO!

A Fantasy Experience
Everything about our stay was beyond our expectations - the house is, quite simply, a fantasy! The location is amazing, the animal life stunning and ever-present, and the quality of the home extremely high. The pool is the highlight and the views are the stuff of your wildest imaginings. I can't say enough good things about the property. We are still talking about it several weeks later and wish we could all go back right this moment! Simply amazing!
Our stay at Villa Vigia far exceeded our expectations. The accomodations were perfect for our family. My husband and I in one master, daughter and husband in the other, 2 teens in 3rd bedroom and single adult daughter in 'apartment'. The house and grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. No need to leave to see wildlife - monkeys visited daily, a toucan perched in a tree, and macaws flew overhead. The infinity pool was gorgeous, and the views from the pool area as well as all the balconies were breathtaking. The location is great. We were able to hike to a couple of beaches as well as some local restaurants. If you don't want to hike the hills, It's easy to get a cab.
Vanessa, our concierge, was delightful to work with. She was so well-organized, was an immense help planning our itinerary, and was always available via text to answer any questions we had.
All in all, it was a wonderful trip and we would definitely stay here again.

Impeccably clean, gorgeous villa with fantastic staff and one little flaw.
Let me just start by saying - this Costa Rica vacation was one of the best we took in a long time!
Villa Vigia is gorgeous place with infinity pool, incredible views and monkey family, playing visits every day for an amazing show of Costa Rican wildlife just a few feet away!
Accommodation at Villa Vigia are great for big family: there are 2 master bedrooms in the main house, along with one multi bed bedroom - all elegantly furnished and with gorgeous views from the balconies.
There is, also, your grand mother and her hated boyfriend's quarters - apartment of some sort with separate kitchen and laundry room, accessible via concrete steps walk through garage. That apartment is good, but compared to main house bedrooms - does not feel luxurious, as the rest of the villa.
To emphasize - this is excellent villa for large family or may be two couples with children and grandparents, but for group of four adult couples my wife and I were part of, it was a bit frustrating to deside who is going to stay in the granny's flatt.
All the people associated with this property are extremely responsive and accommodating all your needs, grounds are gorgeous... But be aware if you have four couples.
I love Costa Rica, hope you all will visit and enjoy it as much as we did!

Wonderful Stay at Villa Vigia

Fun Family Vacation - Beautiful Spot
We stayed at Villa Vagia over Christmas and loved the home and Manuel Antonio. The views from this home are incredible and the infinity pool overlooking the beach is spectacular. There was lots to do for the kids (ages 5-12) to stay busy - they delighted in the pool and all the animal visitors. We had monkeys visit daily and Bob the iguana showed up almost every day at 3 pm to say hi. This house is well stocked and has just about everything you need to make the stay easy and relaxing. Vanessa was our concierge and she organized great tours, got us in touch with a Chef who cooked dinner two nights, and answered our questions and needs during our stay. We walked to both beaches and to the restaurants, which was a good workout with all the hills and adventure with the narrow streets. It was also easy to get a cab to go out.
The one down side to our visit was the fourth bedroom is not technically in the main part of the house. We traveled with my parents and my sister's family of four and would have liked to use the fourth bedroom. Unfortunately because of the location and musty smell we chose not to use it and all bunked in the three main rooms - which are a good size. We wish we had known this and had asked several questions about this room and were somewhat disappointed we couldn't use it.

Villa Vigia took our breath away upon entering then continued to throughout our stay. We never got used to the breathtaking views, open air of the amazing common areas, and daily visits from the monkeys. Nicole, who helped with our booking was immensely helpful in helping us make an informed decision about booking the property. Vanessa, our concierge, was a dream. We hardly had to worry about a thing as she recommended and booked adventures, dinner reservations, and even rides throughout our trip. By the end, she felt like a part of our family. Staying here and our trip to Costa Rica was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

An amazing stay! We would stay again.
My sister and I chose Villa Vigia after a lot of searching and we are so glad, it was one of our best family vacations! Firstly. we were impressed by Nicole who patiently answered our questions prior to arrival.
Once we arrived, we were welcomed by Vanessa and the whole staff and immediately fell in love with the place.
The house is beautiful with lots of space, which was great with 3 kids. We spent most of our time at the house in the pool area, which had plenty of sun loungers, a big pool with toys and the view is spectacular. Just add a cocktail!
The bedrooms are large with really comfortable beds.
One of the things that we really liked about the house, was that you could walk to a nearby beach. We walked down several time to Besanz, it a great sheltered bay, you can rent kayaks, paddleboards and even snorkel, we saw a few fish and the kids loved it!

My favorite villa in Manuel Antonio
The property has a true old-world estate feel. Nice long driveway, beautiful grounds, stunning villa with big spaces and STUNNING views of the main beach and Manuel Antonio National Park (like THE post card view in the area). The outdoor living spaces are great, the pool is a nice size and well integrated to the villa and the surrounding wildlife is pretty impressive. Great staff and service and we really liked dealing with this property manager - fantastic experience top to bottom.

A Dream Come True!
We were there to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary and it could not have been more perfect. We were looking for a home that would allow us to connect as a family but also have space and downtime on our own. Villa Vigia was beyond delightful and more than what we hoped for. The best way I can describe it is being there felt like a big EXHALE. I find myself daydreaming about that very special place and we will certainly return. The entire staff, Willy, Sonia, Vanessa were fantastic and made us fall in love with Costa Rica and its genuine warmth. We had one very minor issue with an AC remote control and, I only mention it, because Vanessa had us sorted out in a couple of hours and that is to be commended. Villa Vigia, see you soon! Pura Vida!

Grand house, needs some work
To be clear, we loved staying here. The house has grand proportions and myriad private nooks, all with great views and a super pleasant pool overlooking the beach. The staff are fantastic and quick to respond to questions and requests.
However, it's clear that the house has seen better days. At various times during the week, the shower in our room sprayed all over except in the shower stall, the fridge went warm, the dishwasher gave up, the food disposal stopped working and the freezer succeeded in never producing ice or keeping ice cream frozen. We had ice cream soup after dinner instead. The kitchen with amazing size was unfortunately stocked with a hodgepodge of equipment pieces, some of which worked, little of which matched. Generally, some design editing would refresh this place tremendously.
At the end of the day, however, despite the setbacks mentioned, this was a great place to stay with a couple of families, and the kids all had a blast. I would recommend this place to friends even with all the quirks.

The property is amazin
We stayed 5 days here with 3 other couples to celebrate my 40th. The property is great and Vanessa takes care of everything for you. The house is large and very nice. The only downfall is the apartment where you have to go through the garage and laundry room to get to it. That is perfect if someone in your group wants to be a little separated. We had Cgef Roger cone twice to cook for us. The food is amazing but affordable. Overall perfect trip

Spectacular home, unforgettable experience
My husband and my three daughters (ages 12,10 and 7) and our family friends thought Villa Vigia was the ideal place to spend a week in Manuel Antonio. Having lived in Costa Rica over 20 years ago, I carefully researched places so as to make my return a special experience for my family, and Villa Vigia did not disappoint us. We had an unforgettable experience swimming in the gorgeous infinite pool and watching the squirrel monkeys at play, cooking in the fabulous open kitchen, zip lining through the rainforest with Safari Adventures, surfing at Manuel Antonio Beach, touring the park with Bernie (awesome guide available through Henry at front gate). With Willie at the front gate and Flaca the kind and attentive housekeeper, we felt that we were staying in a very safe home. You will love the views of Manuel Antonio. My 7 year old called it her castle and never even wanted to leave! Couldn't agree more-

Lovely Home/Magnificent Rainforest
The house is lovely and the setting is the rainforest. How wonderful! Our stay was made much better by the service we received from our concierge and the rental company who were most helpful. We had asked for a Christmas Tree and Patricia produced a large beautiful tree which was so unexpected. The house was ready and fully stocked with the items we requested so when we arrived from the airport we felt like we were home. The swimming pool was the perfect temperature and at night the place is magical. It's a great house for a family getaway, a romantic interlude or a group of friends on a vacation.

Perfect getaway for two families
We just visited Villa Vigia with another family (5 kids total). What a fabulous trip! The house and property are gorgeous, and we didn't want to leave. The master bedrooms are incredibly spacious. The kids room has two double beds, and a bunk bed. The lower bunk is a queen bed, so there is a lot of room for the kids to spread out. All the rooms have beautiful views and balconies. The pool is perfectly situated, and we could watch for birds and monkeys while we were in it. A few other notes -- the kitchen is well equipped with plenty of plates, glassware, silverware, etc. for a large party, there is a washer/dryer available.
The concierge arranged a chef to come cook for us. We had appetizers, cocktails(adults) and smoothies(kids) out on the poolside patio. The large dining room table accommodated us all for a delicious sit down dinner. It was very relaxing, especially since we didn't have to clean up. The house is in a great location for activities such as canyoneering, mangrove kayaking, a tour of the Manuel Antonio park, and surfing. The concierge helped us arrange the activities. Transportation to/from and usually lunch was provided with the activities.
Villa Vigia is a special property that harmonizes with its lush surroundings.

Family reunion perfect setting
My wife and i celebrated our 50th here with 2 daugters, 2 sons-in-law, and 5 grandchildren 12-17. It was perfect in every regard. An incredible range of activities for the younger folks with some dinners in by staff(excellent) and some out at fine restaurants. The views are incomparable and the infinity pool was rarely
empty. Sunrises, bird and monkey watching were outstanding. An ideal week for all of us.

Amazing Family Vacation Rental
Our family had a most amazing stay at Villa Vigia. The home was absolutely beautiful - with gorgeous views of the rain forest, the ocean and Costa Rica's stunning beaches. Although we spent hours enjoying the pool and relaxing on the patio, this home was also the perfect location to seek out other adventures. These included a Mangrove Tour, deep sea fishing, days bodysurfing at the beaches, hikes in Manuel Antonio, and an adventure tour that included zip lining, repelling and rope swings. Jonathan graciously set up anything we were interested in exploring, had great recommendations for dining, and was responsive to the many varied interests of our family of 11 (which ranged from grandparents to teenagers). All the services providers - from concierge services to housekeeping to in-home chef services - were hospitable, accommodating and efficient. We loved staying in the beautiful villa, which had many amenities and every comfort. The bedrooms all were spacious, well appointed and had vast views of Manuel Antonio. The Kitchen and dining areas were very well equipped and we could comfortably entertain 15 for Christmas Eve dinner. The entire home was bright, airy and welcoming - perfect for hanging out, swimming, birdwatching and being entertained by our many monkey neighbors in the surrounding forrest. However, the surrounding area of Manuel Antonio was equally gorgeous and the many things to explore there couldn't be neglected, despite the comforts of the Villa. We would have much preferred to stay longer than a week, but we will just have to return to Costa Rica and Villa Vigia soon. Everything about our stay exceeding our expectations!

Paradiso
Far surpassed our expectations! Kent, our host, met us at the property and was most helpful and gracious. Went so far as to go to a restaurant and arrange to have pizza delivered. The property was amazing, backed up against the park we had great ocean vista views, total privacy (except for the 3 varieties of monkey visitors - who were very polite), and great facilities. Excellent access to the town and park, I do recommend a rental car or driver, unless you just want to enjoy the peace of the most remarkable villa in Manuel Antonio and stay put!

Amazing Home, Wonderful Care taking, Breathtaking View
I rented this home with my husband, Dad and one of my best friends. All three of them had not been to Costa Rica and so I was excited to take them there. When we drove up to the house after a 2.5 hour drive from the airport, we were welcomed to the most wonderful villa I have seen. Estela was there waiting with homemade guacamole and yummy drinks to tour us around the house, show us how to work lights, air, etc. Our master bedroom was just the most amazing room, bed and view there was. From the minute we sat down for a cocktail outside by the pool I was sucked into relaxing and enjoying Manuel Antonio. The kitchen (for my friend who used to be a chef especially) was so well equipped, everything you need to cook amazing meals. We had chosen to have Chelsea Brandau (and her sous chef David) cook for us 4 nights and 4 lunches and her food was incredible. AND wow can she bake a cake!
The villa was really the most amazing villa we have stayed in. We loved the maid service and the care taker who swept all common areas every day and made sure that the home was pristine the whole time we were there. I felt like a celebrity all week we were there.
Estela and Kent were available for anything we needed!
If you are looking for a lovely villa, great service, wonderful pool and breathtaking views of Manuel Antonio this is the place. Oh and the bed was soooooo comfy!

We miss everything about Villa Vigia.
The pictures on the website do not begin to describe the magnificent setting of Villa Vigia. Set on a hill above the Manuel Antonio beaches, the floor to ceiling windows offer a panoramic view of the coastline.
While the property and house are inviting, the heart of the villa is the wonderful staff. Their dedication to Villa Vigia and the comfort of their guests exceeded our expectations. Damien & Greg the concierges provided a memorable vacation. Chelsea the chef individualized the menu to suit our needs and even taught our son how to make crepes and pit avocados. We would be remiss not also mention Auxiliadora, the shy and efficient housekeeper.
We ziplined, jet skiied, rode ATVs and toured the park. After each activity we looked forward to returning to the Villa to sit around the pool, enjoy the terraces and relax. Of course, we did not have to worry about securing a lounge around the pool. We have spent too many vacations struggling to secure lounges at crowded hotels, with so called butlers who never seem to materialize.
This was the most relaxing vacation we've had in years. Can't wait to return!
