The lady in charge was super friendly & helpful. The facilities great & location super.

Breakfast was generous & tasty. Location outstanding as right near the city spots.

The broken tiles on the end of the walkway & pillows were a bit firm.

outdated but functional, clean but stained

Like: - good price point, especially when all other budget options near Station were fully booked (weekend) - very clean, quiet, warm (good working aircon) - onsen water baths with high ceiling and white bathroom tiling-bath stools etc, no smells, no mold sighted, very well-maintained, separate for men & women - common wash basins, washrooms clean - flexibility with room change upon check-in - helpful English-Japanese speaking staff

Dislike: - hotel a long walk from Station and up on a hill, only access is on foot - carpark is extra ¥500, only 4 available lots (see pic) far from hotel and down the hill - furnishings and appliances are outdated but functional, carpets though clean has many stains - no ice machine, and vending machine is broken. nearest convenience store is 10 min walk down the hill across many dark streets - common wash basins-toilets = noisy at all times of the night as guests make use them eg footsteps, slamming doors eg suggest that hotel make a note about Quiet Rules after 10pm and stick to each door - no English Visitor Travel Guides/Brochures though most guests are likely foreigners - there was a heater at front desk, but no heaters in bath changing area, can be very cold in winter

Superb

Spacious room and comfortable beds, nice onsen bath and breakfast, it’s located a bit uphill overlooking the city, the view is a plus!

Lack of air conditioning outside of our room, it was a bit cold

Great hotel and good value for money!

Very cozy and the decoration was really nice. The staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast and onsen were a plus! Will stay there again if we have a chance.

Breakfast!! :)

The breakfast was very nice (every day was different) and very complete: it included meat or eggs, fruits, salad and bread. The room was nice and the views were gorgeous!

Only three parking places. There is one private parking close to the hotel but the price is crazy. I parked the car in a parking called Asahi (you will identify it because it has sand floor). Even if the showers are not private, dont worry you can always find a moment in which you can be alone ( early in the morning or late at night) 😊

Exceptional

The breakfast was delicious and different every day. It's about a 13-minute walk from Takayama station but it's very close to the river and all of the shops, so very convenient. Even though the bathroom, sinks, and shower was shared it was very clean. Everyone was also very polite and helpful.

Beautiful view of Takayama and lovely stay

-Jas hotel overlooks all of Takayama. It's very close to the old quarter and morning markets and 15 min to the train station. -The staff were helpful and friendly. -Breakfast was great and thoughtful. -Rooms very spacious and clean and very comfortable. -Clean and very warm onsen great to use after a days hiking in Kamikochi National Park !

-if you struggle to walk uphill with bags - there are many steps to get up to the top, and steps inside the hotel - only public showers for all guests. I wish this had been advertised on their booking, as usually shared bathroom means a private cubicle. However, all showers are inside the Onsen, and in the women's, only 2 shower facilities. I didn't have a problem with accessing the shower when I needed it however if the hotel were very busy you might struggle.
