A totally clean and pleasant house in a magnificent setting near an amazing natural reserve and within driving distance of many top sites of Sicily such as Palermo, Monreale, Segesta, Erice and others. Scopello is a lovely tiny town with at least one restaurant finer than anything we expected, and other wonderful seafood restaurants in nearby Castellamare del Golfo. Kitchen is fully equipped. Owner even bought a new mattress on her own initiative before we came because she thought that the one that was there was showing it's age. Terrific!

We had a very nice stay in the house of Scopello. The view was stunning and to relax in the hammock in the afternoon was a treat to the soul. In the evenings we made BBQ and enjoyed it on the terrace as the magical-sicilian-mist spread out over the seaview. The landlady was very nice and helpfull and ensured that we were allways welcome to call if there was any questions.

This 2 bed roomed house in beautiful Scopello is very comfortable. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 small children and the house was very spacious. It was clean and well equipped for all of our needs. The house is situated less than a km from the small town of Scopello, up on the hill, just outside of the spectacular Zingaro reserve, which we visited three times on our stay. It has a lovely garden and veranda overlooking the ocean. It was very quite and peaceful and easy to reach from Palermo. We used the week as a base to explore the area including Trapani, Segesta, Selinunte and Erice.

"Lovely semi detached villetta, in peaceful shady surroundings minutes from sea, we loved it. Very clean, very comfortable, a perfect spot for a laid back break, with pretty Scopello in walking distance."

"I spent our last moments in paradise, aka Scopello, a tiny village tucked between mountains and the sea, telling you why you must come to this special place on the northwest coast of Sicily. We have enjoyed 9 days here in a rented casa where we have lived like Sicilians, terrace to the sea in front, giardino with mountain view in the back. A hammock! Bird song all day long! Sea breezes! Palm trees and pines! Wild flowers, yours for the picking! Two bedrooms, living/dining room, wonderful kitchen, a strong shower with plenty of hot water, an outdoor grill, washer, and satellite TV if you can tear yourself away from the amazing views. Both bedrooms have generous closet space so you can stash everything and live like you own the place. We felt at home in this spacious house – our biggest problem was whether to eat our meals looking at the sea, or looking at the mountains. This is a spot to relax, to read, to write, to nap, to cook – or not. Within a 20-minute walk you will reach the center of the town with its sleepy little piazza where the bars serve sfingione (a kind of pizza bread) and pane cunzato (a very particular sandwich of the area) and the ristoranti specialize in fresh fish and vegetables of the season. The town center has a working produce farmette where you can find lettuce, tomatoes, onions, potatoes and fresh fruits to go. Our hosts Giuseppina and Gaetano went way out of their way to welcome us, picking us up and dropping us off at the Castellamare train station (we were happily car-free). They own two side by side homes here (they themselves live in about 10 miles away) and decided to spend a romantic Saturday night here themselves, so we had the opportunity to dine with them (we grilled fish and they brought pizza). They are true and generous Sicilians, both professionals, who enjoy sharing their love of this island with their guests. For active sorts, there is no lack of opportunity for light, moderate or extreme exercise. The bluest, clearest water you can imagine with a beach nestled in a small cove with mountains sloping to the sea. We don’t know about summer, but in May we owned the beach – the weather fluctuating between perfect and almost perfect every day. The hilly land makes for challenging and fun runs to the sea (for the not-so-fleet-of-foot a 15-20 minute walk). The property is a 20-minute walk to the entrance of the Zingaro reserve which offers exciting mountain vistas at every turn, beaches, and rugged rock formations jutting out of the sea. Hikers of every level will have a field day exploring the nooks and crannies of Sicily’s best-preserved coastline. Birders should bring binocs. If you have a car you can easily visit the nearby larger town of Castellamare or Segesta with its beautifully preserved Greek temple. We did not have a car but with a little planning we were able to visit both of these places using the bus service (and a train to Segesta). You won’t be bored here – and guess what? The windows even have screens!"

"This is an outstanding Homelidays property: large, spacious, airy, immaculate, and well furnished. The dwelling is located between the town of Scopello and the entrance to the Zingaro reserve. It is beautifully sited with views of the sea from a large, comfortable, shaded front veranda. From the house we could walk or drive a few hundred yards to a beautiful uncrowded beach where we swam and snorkeled in the clean, clear emerald sea for which Scopello and the Zingaro are justly renown. The owner, Giuseppina, met us in Scopello to guide us to the house. A delightful person, Giuseppina seeks every opportunity to improve her English, which is far better than she acknowledges. During the first three weeks of June, we spent three weeks in Sicily, each week in a different Homelidays rental. Each was satisfactory, but this one was by far the best, excellent in every respect."

This is a lovely villa with very kind and helpful owners. The local village is charming and full of character. I am an experienced traveller and can honestly say that this villa, and its location, met our hopes in every way. A short walk away is a nature reserve, a lovely restaurant (Zingaro), some superb beaches, and of course the village of Scopello and its historic Tuna port. We were so glad we choice the West of Sicily as in doing so we avoided the crowds and discovered some really lovely places. Enjoy!
