About this house rental
This 2017 built home overlooks the beautiful Mississippi River. It is located 15 minutes from La Crosse W, 15 miles from New Albin, and 27 miles from Lansing, IA. It is within a mile distance from a boat launch and about 3 miles of a public boat launch away Wild Cat Campground. This area is host to whitetail deer, wild turkeys, bass, northern pike, walleye, and various pan fish. Our home is right on the Mississippi River Trail for bike riders. (The house is only available in summers..we live here in the winter.)
There is room to park your boat and outdoor electric hook-up to charge it. Though the master suite is not included in the rental, there is room for 6 in beds and more if you want to bring an air mattress/sleep on couches. If available, rent apartment as well and there are two more queen sized beds available in the same dwelling.
Our house is along Mississippi Pool 8 area. There are many local and major league (Bass Master Elite, Bass Master Open and Major League Fishing) fishing tournaments in this pool. If you like walleye, northern pike or pan fishing, it is possible here too.
Situated in a driftless region, this area is home to scenic bluffs and valleys with gorgeous views from both Minnesota and Wisconsin. We are 15 min from downtown La Crosse, WI and 15 minutes from the Iowa border. The area also boasts wonderful trout streams for fly fishing enthusiasts. White tail deer and Eastern wild turkeys make their home here and offer memory making hunting and/or scouting opportunities for interested individuals. In the fall, many people travel here to see the swans/other birds in the sanctuary south of Brownsville. We commonly see eagles and pelicans all summer long.
This house is along Mississippi Pool 8 area. There are many local and major league (Bass Master Elite, Bass Master Open and Major League Fishing) fishing tournaments in this pool during the summer months.
It is a truly beautiful and peaceful rural location with quick access to a bigger city and all the options you expect to find there. You may see, and hear, barges and/or trains going up and down the river hauling their loads. (The train crossings are over a mile away, so their horns can be heard, but most guests indicate they are not too intrusive. )

Went to La Crosse for a bike race. This home has everything we needed including laundry for race clothes! Beautiful view of the Mississippi River!

We came for an event in LaCrosse - it was a quick and easy 20 minute drive - perfect! The home has everything you can think of - and very comfortable beds! The directions for getting in are really easy and Paula was super responsive and great to work with. I’d recommend staying here again - it’d be perfect for a girls trip The views of the river are stunning!!

We loved this space for our weekend! The house is super clean, very spacious, and had absolutely everything we needed. The host was so friendly and super responsive when I thanked her upon arrival. The pictures don’t do it justice, the view was lovely. I highly recommend!

Very comfortable and clean! After a couple days of walking around, it was nice for each of us to have a chair to relax in, recline and lift our feet up! From the living room, we also saw several of the large Mississippi Riverboats go by all lit up.

Auggie's home is absolutely beautiful! We love the area so much we brought our parents and other family with us on our anniversary trip. The home was very spacious and decor is comfortable and relaxing. We brought fishing boats with us and there was plenty of room to maneuver and park. We also booked a fishing charter and the boat launch is only a mile away. We will definitely be back again. Our family thanks you!

This home is SO nice, has an amazing view, and you couldn’t ask for better property owners. We stayed at Auggie’s for a week during the MLF High School Bass Fishing Nationals and couldn’t ask for more. Paula and her husband are the nicest people and even joined us for supper a few evenings and enjoyed some southern cooking. If we make this 18 hour trip again we will definitely choose their home. Super clean, comfy beds, and every amenity one may need! We couldn’t have been more pleased!

The house itself was just stunning and very spacious. It was a very comfortable stay. Road noise was a bit of a problem as we are very sensitive to that. We could not find an access to the river which we would have enjoyed. We did like the access to other towns we wanted to visit.

Great time at Auggie’s home on the Mississippi River. Great location, clean, and great home to stay with family. Only thing I’d mention is there are family pictures all over of which I understand it’s a family home, but yet a little awkward.

This was a very nice home fronting the Mississippi. It had plenty of room for our family of 5 and we were only a few minutes from a local boat launch and a short drive to LaCrosse. The cookies were also a very nice touch.

House was very nice and clean. Sits up off the Highway looking over the Mississippi River. Huge windows in the living room with an amazing view of the river. Some type of curtains would have been nice for a little privacy, but they’re so large I don’t think you could really put any on them. But wasn’t that big of a deal. First time staying on the Minnesota portion of the river and it’s just as awesome of an area as the Iowa and Wisconsin areas of the river. And I also have to include a comment about the best cookies I think I ever had that were there waiting for us when we arrived. Don’t tell my mother I said that though. And the tabletops that they made are truly unbelievable pieces of craftsmanship. Thanks for letting us stay.

This was the perfect property for my friends and I. Only about 15 minutes from downtown La Crosse, it was an awesome location. Very clean, quiet, and with a pretty view of the river. Check in and check out was simple and the hosts were easily accessible when I had a quick question about Oktoberfest weekend. Even had some games for us. Would recommend to everyone looking to stay in the area.

If we could give this rental 10 gold stars we would! Home is clean and spacious, parking was perfect for our boat as well. Homeowners were by far the best part of the whole week long experience. Certainly going to visit with them again!! We will definitely stay here again.

Wanted to see the area. It was beautiful..
Because it was a Music Fest weekend many of the restaurants were already booked that was disappointing. If we had one complaint about the facility it would be there was no place to hike around it. The home is beautiful thank you for letting us stay..

Loved our stay here. Beautiful views, high ceilings, great set up. We did have a 15 month old running around and this home is definitely not child-proof but this is more us than the home itself. Very cool collection of art. Lots of entertainment options as well.
A few quirks here and there as this is more of someone’s home rather than a professional hotel. And you are welcome for a clean coffee maker now!

This is our second time at this house. The view is great and it's super close to the boat ramp at Lawrence Lake Marina. Saxon's is right down the road and has great pizza and appetizers. (loaded tater tots are a must).

Absolutely Gorgeous!
We loved every minute of it. The night before we left we saw a barge come by in the evening when it was dark...very cool. Also the day of checkout, there was a storm, it was neat to watch it on the water, also very cool. Wonderful memories. My son and family really enjoyed it too! Very relaxing and enjoyable!!.

We were in town for our nephew’s HS graduation. This house was perfect! There was plenty of space and the view of the river was breathtaking. We will definitely be looking to stay here again when we come back to visit family.
