The house was perfect for us!! Clean & comfortable. Perfect location which was our main reason for staying here. It's a 3 minute's walk to the State Park gorge and close to Main Street shops and eateries 5-10 minute walk . Travis the host was very diligent in responding to all our questions. We would definitely stay again!!

Easy access to park and commercial district. Somewhat basic accommodations but clean, tidy, and quiet. Plenty of dishes and towels. Note for anyone with dogs (we didn't bring ours): the stairway to the upper floor is hardwood without any grip, so dogs might have difficulty climbing up.

When I first saw and book this house I was under the impression that it was one rental and I would have the entire house to myself. But it is set up like a duplex sharing a front porch. And that’s the only negative thing I can say. The house was clean, well furnished, wonderfully located and it had an inviting feel. 10/10. The host provided a breakfast and snack bar with coffee, tea, bagels, yogurts and bananas. It was delightful. Very happy I will be back.

We had a wonderful stay over Thanksgiving weekend! The house had everything we needed and enough room for everyone! The two units was great for two families with pets and children. Walking distance to the lake, state park and downtown. A wonderful weekend had by all.

I could not be happier with the Madison Guesthouse It was extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need..including paper products. The beds & furniture were very comfortable. All the rooms in the house were very clean. The washer & dryer worked well. We never heard our neighbors in the other unit. Yes..there are quite a few stairs but I am 74 & had no problem. It’s a very short walk to the Glen. Lots of restaurants & shops are a short walk & you can even walk to the lake.I loved that recycling is available at the house. My niece & her husband stayed with me a few days. We all agreed we loved it & could find nothing to complain about. It’s the perfect place in Watkins Glen. If I could I would give it 12 stars !

Had a girl's getaway. Location is perfect. You can walk to the park and many shops and restaurants! Big plus. Communication with owner was wonderful! The breakfast foods and coffee that were left for us was perfect! We had something to eat the morning after our arrival. The house was roomy.Seems like the owners are updating a bit at a time. It had pretty much the basics we needed. Could have been a bit cleaner. Was a bit dusty and musty smelling. Some dishes seem to be put back not so clean. But, that was probably from the previous guest. Grill worked, but could be updated, was a bit rusty. We had to put our steaks in a pan to cook. Overall a good house in a great location!

Very nice unit in a fabulous location. Less than 3 blocks to the entry of the Glen/Gorge in one direction, and about 7 blocks to the harbor and the iconic pier house. Travis is great to work with, and provided all amenities for a very comfortable stay.

We booked this property for our annual golf outing and it was perfect for our purposes. Travis was great with communication including booking, checking in and answering questions while we were planning. It was a great location, easy walking distance to many bars and restaurants. We had a great trip.

We had a great time on our stay. The house perfectly accommodated 2 families with kids and small dogs. The house was clean, the breakfast foods were much appreciated, and the separate laundry facilities for each apartment were awesome! The house is perfectly located in town and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and even the Watkins Glen State Park! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay at this guest house, plenty of space, and nice food for breakfast. Accommodations met or exceeded all our expectations. The house is walking distance to the state park waterfalls, and perfect for walking the town or Watgins Glen, down to the lake Seneca. The beds were comfortable, and the AC was good. We look forward to another visit to the region.

Super close to the local park that has waterfalls and hiking up stone stairs. We went to the restaurant at the marina for drinks and a HUGE pretzel with dipping sauces. The Chinese restaurant was just across the street, as was Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Shop. A Walmart was a short drive, as well. Inside the home the owner had some bananas, blueberries, bagels, butter and cream cheese waiting for us. There were plenty of towels and the beds were comfortable. The water pressure was good for showers and baths, and the street was fairly quiet with close parking.

Our house was only a 3 minute walk to the entrance to Watkins Glenn. The house was clean, linens and breakfast foods were supplied, and delicious. Our wine tour was only 15 minutes away. Madison House is in an excellent location for a Watkins Glenn, Seneca Lake vacation.

We enjoyed our stay at your place, it was very clean and cozy and in a great location....close to everything. The only thing I would suggest as we were wine drinkers....maybe having a few more wine glasses in the house but everything else was fabulous and we will definitely be back. My family and I loved staying on one side of this house. It is in walking distance to everything you need in Watkins Glen. The host was one of the nicest and friendliest I have yet to deal with through VRBO. Having a few items in the fridge for breakfast was a great little bonus!

A group of 13 of us rented both sides and found it to be comfortable and spacious. Plenty of showers and space was clean. Location was perfect. Close by many wineries and breweries (check COVID precautions, our group could not access many). We walked 3 blocks to the start of the famous Gorge Trail and it was the highlight of the weekend. Could also walk downtown to shops and bars. It was really nice to find some of the breakfast snacks they Travis provided and his communication was great and quick.

We were so pleased to be a 5 minute walk to the beautiful gorges and a town with interesting shops. We explored the nearby very friendly wineries and ice cream shops. fabulous flavors. Also less than 30 min to Corning Glass Museum and Ithaca/Cornell with more gorges and waterfall. All this with a very enthusiastic 8 year old grandson, 6 year old granddaughter and their parents. Duplex set up ideal for that. Our host lrtf a full breakfast and more for us to find in fridge upon our arrival. He was very helpful before, during and after our trip! Made for wonderful family memory!

The house was located perfectly within the city so that local amenities and attractions could be visited without a car. My stay was short and I was mostly away at a conference it was perfect to use as an easy base for where I needed to be. The property was exceptionally clean and, while a bit sparsely decorated, it had all the essentials and was quite comfortable with all amenaties. The owner even provided some basic food such as bagels and yohgurt. I would definitely rent this again.

Great home just one street over from Franklin with restaurants, bars and shops. One block also from Watkins Glen State Park. Great starting off point for trips to area wineries and breweries. The house had a nice sized living room, dining room and kitchen. We could only get recorded shows on the tv, no live tv which was a bummer because we wanted to watch football. Bedrooms were nice, beds were comfy. Recommend fall visit, less crowded, beautiful foliage

This house was in a very desirable location, in walking distance to tons of activities. However, this is the first place (hotel or vacation home) that I was charged per person. To start- the listing says the house sleeps 17, but I didn’t find out until a few days before our stay that it was actually broken into 2 separate apartments, and one side sleeps 7, the other sleeps 10, and that one side was already booked. In addition, I was required to know the exact number of guests, and since I was unsure who would be able to attend, I rounded up. Therefore, I was charged A significant amount of money only TWO days before our stay was set to begin. I am extremely upset and have already filed a formal complaint.
