About this house rental
Enjoy a memorable vacation at our home in South Haven, MI, only an hour and a half drive from Chicago. The house is a fully furnished, brand new, open concept home located one block away from the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan. The home has a total of 6 bedrooms (the 4 bedrooms on the common floor all have a smart TV), 5 full baths, an open concept common area for the living room, dining room, kitchen area, a large furnished horseshoe-shaped 2nd-floor loft overlooking the common area. The house sleeps a total of 16 people.
The house is fully furnished with a modern farmhouse decor throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, microwave, toaster, coffee maker that uses ground coffee, utensils, etc., and has a solid wood dining table for 8, kitchen table that seats 6 and also a kitchen island that seats 4. There is a sofa, loveseat and a fireplace in the living room. There is big smart TV over the fireplace. The personal touches in decor along with the themed bedrooms give you the feeling of being in the comfort of your own home.
There are sliding patio doors in the kitchen leading out to a deck. There is a gas grill for your use along with patio furniture and newly added pergola with couches to lounge. In the backyard there is an inground pool (which is open May 25 through September 25), life sized chess set, fire pit, sand volleyball court, bocce ball court.
There is a large driveway leading to the house with room for parking that also has a new basketball rim.
No matter the season, there is always something to do.
THINGS TO DO---SUMMER: For your use, there is a folder filled with brochures of nearby places of interest and there are also local phone books with theatres, restaurants, and shopping. There are usually festivals and fairs happening in and around the area. In the Summer enjoy swimming and sunning on Lake Michigan, only a 5-minute walk on a private path to 1st Avenue beach. The public beach is a 5-minute car or bike ride away. Visit some nearby farmer's markets for the freshest fruits and vegetables, homemade jams, and fresh-baked pies and bread. Try the local wines at the nearby wineries in the area. New Buffalo Four Winds Casino & Resort nearby.

We had a great stay at this house near the beach. The location was perfect, and we really enjoyed the swimming pool. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend!

We couldn’t have been more happy with the house we picked! The pictures are very accurate. The house is beautiful! It was like being at an ocean vacation home, without the crazy long drive. The pool and backyard oasis were wonderful! We had one beginning of the year issue with the pool, but it was resolved quickly. Deanna was wonderful to work with! If we had any problems she quickly responded to my messages through the Vrbo app and was super friendly. We are already looking at when we can bring our whole family back again. We just completed a one week stay at this property and thoroughly enjoyed it! We were a group of thirteen with 7 adults five children (3,6,8,10 and 13) and a baby!
The kids LOVED it! The pool was the focus, but they also spent a significant amount of time in the well equipped basement.
The layout of the house was perfect for our group and the basement separation enabled the adults to enjoy time together while the kids watched movies or played games.
A well stocked kitchen and a second refrigerator in the garage were definitely appreciated. The gas range and an excellent set of knives were a nice surprise for a group of foodies!
The covered outdoor space with a television and an adjacent fire pit were also highlights.
Great location that was easy to get to.

This was our family’s first time in South Haven, and it was a great experience. We had 16 people staying in the house (7 adults and 9 kids under 7) and this house had plenty of space. The backyard was great and it’s close enough to town and to the beach. The first street beach was nice, but the stairs to get down to the beach pretty steep. The house was well stocked, the owner was easy to get in touch with, and overall it was a great trip and we would definitely come back!

This property is very spacious & beautiful. Plenty of room for all of us. For the most part it was clean however, there was a "chew pouch" or whatever it's called, stuck to a baseboard down by the poker table that my son saw, the ceiling fans have a ton of dust hanging off of them in the living room the dishwasher absolutely stinks - not sure what's going on there but wow. I'm not sure the pool was cleaned before we got there but I did text the owner & asked him about having it cleaned. He was very prompt at answering & getting someone there to do it. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I think for the price, a renter should be able to know that the place is thoroughly clean & ready for their stay.

We loved our stay at this gem in South Haven! We had a BLAST taking advantage of all there was to do in the basement and backyard- volleyball, swimming, ping-pong, and much more. The main living/kitchen area is spacious and open, and we made good use of the kitchen to cook a delicious breakfast feast each morning. The walk to the beach was an easy 5 minutes where we had it mostly to ourselves, and the drive into town was just a few minutes, also. There were so many cute, little shops and plenty of dining options, too. Our only complaint was that we had trouble getting some of the TVs and remotes to work. We would totally stay here again.

The house was by far the most stocked VRBO we have ever rented. There was plenty of room for all 12 of us and enough games to keep us occupied for days. We would definitely recommend this house for anyone who is looking for a rental, you will not be disappointed.

Nice house. I would recommend an area rug in the main living area to help with all the echoes. Guest bed mattresses very hard and the TV remote did not work in the 1st bedroom. Backyard very nice, hard to keep sand from volleyball court out of the pool.

Family vacation to celebrate our Parent's 50th wedding anniversary. First time in 10 years we have all been under the same roof for a full week! It was the perfect rental to accommodate everyone from age 4 to age 73. Everyone had their own space/room and bathroom and endless options for entertainment at the house the entire time. From the pool and all the different activities in the backyard to the basement fun, which we hardly used since it was so nice out. Plus walking distance to the beach which we enjoyed every single day. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a large family looking to make some memories. Owners were great and attended to our needs if there were any.

House was great, kids and adults loved the chess board in back and games in the basement. I did feel like there were a lot of fees on top of the cleaning fee if things were not done. I understand cleaning up after yourself but additional fees on top of cleaning fee just seemed silly.

We all loved our stay! Beautiful, clean house! Pool was great to have with kids! It was a little chilly, but to heat it cost $200.00.
The basement was awesome with the different things to do! There was plenty of stuff in the kitchen to cook with. There was plenty of towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pods! A high chair would have been nice, just because my daughter forgot hers.😊
The location was really nice! Not far to walk to the beach or you could drive down to the public beach. We did both. The lock on the front door was difficult to use. Everything else was great! Wonderful place to stay
We had a wonderful week’s stay with perfect weather. The pool was amazing! The weather was warm enough we didn’t even use the pool heater. The house was very clean upon arrival. Lots of room and bathrooms to spread out. The oven knob was broken but that was the only problem we had.
We want to stay here again! This is our 2nd time staying here. The property owners were great to work with.

This house just shines from the inside to the outside. It was MORE than perfect for our family. Our adult children came with their spouses and kids and stayed and played and played and played. Everyone loved it. My husband and I started a tradition two years ago just so we could have intentional time all together...we pay for the place and the "kids and spouses" provide the meals. Our "children" are spread all over and we only have once a year to all be together. That's not enough for their Dad and me! Life goes too fast and is so busy! This place fit.the.bill.. We had lots of laughs and memories were made. Wish we could do it again here but the price for the future got in the way.

Family trip
I stayed at the property with my three adult children, their spouses, and four grandchildren, ages 10, 8, 5, and 8 months. The house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The neighborhood was quiet, and close to the beach and downtown. The yard was great and we enjoyed the pool. The basement was filled with games. We had non stop fun, and would highly recommend this property.

Perfect house for family of 14
The house was perfect for our family of 14 as we were celebrating my in-laws 50th anniversary. There was something for everyone in our family at the house. We had teenagers and small children and we enjoyed the pool, outdoor games, and games in the basement. There was plenty of space and very close to the beach and town of south haven. The house was so clean and had many high end finishes. Highly recommend this house!

Great multiple family home!
We really enjoyed our time here. Great pool, nice little fenced in yard and nice size house. Our biggest negative was how EXTREMELY creaky/noisy the stairs to the downstairs were. Surprising for a newer nice home. This is probably only an issue if you have kids sleeping/napping down there that you want to check in on, like we did. So just a forewarning.

Roomy and fun
I was looking for a house with several bathrooms because we were staying in Michigan for a family wedding and therefore needed several bathrooms to get ready for the wedding. The bathrooms were beautiful, and the family enjoyed all the amenities. The guests used the pool, played ping-pong, bags, fuzeball, air hockey, and chess.

Best vacation ever!
This was our second year visiting this home and it was just as wonderful as the first year. The house is beautiful and has every accommodation we need. The walk to the beach is just a few minutes and the beach itself is a great spot. The pool and backyard are absolutely amazing! We’ve had so much fun here and look forward to hopefully returning again!

Great spot for a family of all ages
The house and the trip was fantastic! If we go back to South Haven then there is a high percentage we will return and stay at this house again. The house has everything you will need and more! Plus they are very responsive to any question and my family had a ton of questions!. The only complains are minor. Here were the pros and tiny negatives:

Great space in the house, we had 10 people there and it never felt crowded
Fantastic inside game room and outside games - ping pong, outside chess table, sand pit / volleyball court, bocce ball, pool with basketball net, board games, fire pit and more
Great kitchen - plenty of room to store food, prepare with everything needed and great table space. They have olive oils, salt, pepper and pretty much any tool needed in a kitchen to make meals
Smart TVs to watch Netflix, prime, Disney or whatever you want to stream
Close to the beach that is a private beach (10 min walk)
Close to downtown area with a bunch of restaurants and shops (short drive)
Bedrooms were nice
Master bedroom was the biggest bedroom where my wife and I stayed and shared with our 2 young sons and it was great for a family - more than enough room
Everything was very clean, and organized in the house
Very large property for the kids to run around in. (weird loft hallway that our kids loved to run up and down)
Safe neighborhood - was comfortable outside walking and felt safe inside

fire pit was great for smores - had all tools needed
nice back deck for eating and relaxing
shed had toys for pool and wagon for walking to the beach, bikes which we did not use
water filter on sink was nice since the tap water might have been well water
good water heater, never had cold water even with multiple of us showering

They did have a small ant problem with traps in various rooms. We found ants in the kitchen and various bedrooms
The beds were not super great - the master was ok but others said that they felt like the bed was a blow up mattress feel
The knives in the kitchen were all dull and hard to cut with
The oven and burners were a challenge to use
The grill was janky - the hottest temp it got was 250 degrees so we used it only once
The front door was impossible to lock and unlock - we went through the garage most of the time and then jumped the sensor,
they have frog that lives in the pool which was funny

Amazing place to spend time
The host was very accommodating, the house was amazing, the location was great! We were initially sad that the hot shot basketball game was not in working order but there were so many other activities that it didn’t phase us in the least. Quick walk to the beach and a short (5minute) drive to downtown Southaven. Would certainly go back.

Fun Family Vacation
Beautiful house. Awesome yard. This house was perfect for our large family vacation (10 adults / 5 kids - ages 3-10). Enough space for all of us, and plenty of things to do, both inside and out. The bedrooms were clean and the bathrooms were stocked with clean towels.
The Good: Spacious, open common areas. An amazing back yard full of activities for the whole family.
The Not-so-Good: An unannounced visit from the maintenance man. The shower in the common area bathroom was not working at all.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again - thank you!

Beautiful South Haven!
My family enjoyed our visit to South Haven so much! If you love to play games, then this home is for you. The home and the grounds are perfect for a family ready to spend some quality time together. We had a fantastic day at the beach, walked around the shops downtown, and picked some delicious blueberries at the farm. We hope you enjoy your stay too!

We really enjoyed the private beach access. It's a shared private path for the local neighborhood. There were plenty of amenities to keep the whole family occupied. Minor tip for guests: Bring your own toilet paper. The toilet paper there is what you would find at an office park (Scott), but this was not a big issue, particularly given the abundance of amenities and high quality appliances. We were also really impressed with the bathrooms. Every bathroom -- even the hall bathroom had a fantastic shower. We ran into a few issues (e.g. pool not heated, miscommunication with the cleaning company to clean the space), but the owner was responsive and quickly addressed these issues. Overall, this is a fantastic property.

This property was perfect for our family with a perfect layout for separation when needed but plenty of gathering spaces. Wonderful house!
This house checked all the boxes. First, it was clean which is high on my list of priorities. The house has everything you would need and more - with all the amenities of your own home. We were there for my daughter's wedding in SH and this was the perfect place to stay, relax, and gather during the time we were there. There was plenty of room for the ten of us and then some. It was a great place to have people gather and just relax during a busy weekend. The house had more than enough space for our group. Nicely decorated. A few of the beds were a bit hard but other than that, the house was very comfortable. We enjoyed the back yard and wish we would have brought bathing suits as the weather was warmer than predicted. Owners were quickly responsive when we had an issue with a smoked detector and made sure we were able to resolve it. I would highly recommend this home for it's amenities, cleanliness, location, responsive/helpful owners, beauty, space, and overall great place to be. It's great for large families/groups. Thanks for a great stay that added to the wonderful time we had!

This property met all of our expectations and needs. The home is beautiful, in excellent condition, and had plenty of space for our family. The pool was a lifesaver as the weather was cool but the pool was heated. There were so many other games and activities available that we didn't even use all of them. Wonderful 1st time visit to South Haven
We highly recommend this beautiful property for a family. The layout is spacious and has lots of activities for kids and adults. Although Some of our vacation was rainy and cold we did make use of the pool quite a lot as it had a a wonderful heater. There is sand volleyball, bocce, and a king size Chess set in the backyard. We used the fire pit one night to make s’mores and enjoyed eating out on the back porch as well. The basement was a fun place to play foosball, AirHockey, watch TV, and play a basketball game. It was a very quiet neighborhood and The house was quiet as well. The location was close to the lake, restaurants, and shops. The owners were very helpful with any questions we had. We plan to go back.
