The Lake Escape Cottage: Charming cottage in the heart of the resort community of Geneva on the Lake. Newly remodeled, fully furnished and comfortably appointed, this cozy retreat offers a perfect escape from a hectic world. Enjoy a bit of serenity as you walk along its quiet lane or wander on the adjacent private beach to collect sea glass with your family and friends. Look forward to watching a spectacular sunset from a broad white bench at the waters’ edge. During your stay, you can enjoy the nearby entertainment district for dining, and shopping or just plain fun. For the family, there is plenty to do. Adventure Zone, just one of the many attractions, offers a variety of family fun; go-karts, bumper boats, batting cages, miniature golf and huge arcade that will keep the kids happy for hours…all this within walking distance of the Lake Escape Cottage.

Lake Escape Cottage is a newly remodeled home with tasteful decor, spacious rooms and quaint charm. The screened in porch has room for dining, playing cards or just relaxing in recliners while the cool breeze blows in off the lake. The kitchen includes all new appliances, microwave, crock pot, coffee pot and cooking utensils. There is a washer and dryer for your convenience during your stay. An outdoor propane grill, magazines, books, dvds, beach chairs and children’s games are a few of the additional amenities to help make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. The Lake Escape Cottage has central air for the hot summer days and central heat for the coolness of fall.

We are located on the private Mapleton Beach enclave, across from Madsen Donuts and are a block away from Eddie’s Grill. The location is perfect, close to everything, yet on a quiet lane with private beach access. The cottage is available year round; weekly rentals June through August with shorter stays available during the off-season.

We loved the location. Very convenient and could walk everywhere. Lake on one side, bar with live music on the other. Some people may not like the loud music but we loved it! The only thing was that I guess I didn’t see that towels and washcloths were not provided so we had to go buy some. A little inconvenient but nothing we couldn’t handle. Will definitely stay there again!

This was such a cute little place! We were given the wrong code to get in but the owner was quick to answer and give us the correct code. Everything was clean and the rooms were decorated nicely. My only complaint is the bedrooms were a little hot but we just turned the heat way down at night. The hot water also didn’t last very long but we just showered quickly. The location is walking distance from several things including the lake where we found beach glass! Great stay. Would stay again! My family loved it and my 8 year old asked if we could move in forever.

My wife and I as well as another couple stayed for the weekend. This house is right in the middle of the strip - maybe 4 houses down towards the lake. Walking access to really everything. We were in town for the music and entertainment so it was perfect! The house itself was as advertised. The checkout process was very reasonable and there were no funky rules you sometimes read about. Everything was clean and there was really nothing we needed that wasn't there. Only one thing to be aware of - the house is directly in front of Sportsterz on the strip and you do hear the music when bands are playing especially if you have a window open. We were there for that so it was perfect. However, I could see a family with younger children or early bedtime folks not appreciating that as much. This is certiainly not the hosts fault but it is something to be aware of. We would rent this house again in a heartbeat.

Such a great house at Geneva on The Lake.The house was perfect for our girls getaway. It was very clean and spacious. The location was excellent. Friday night the power had gone out in the city due to storms but the owner Michelle was super response and kept us up to date on the power outage. We will definitely stay here again.

We loved staying here. Being right on the strip AND having private beach access was amazing. Plus the home was very reasonably priced compared to other places in the area. If I book a trip to Geneva on the Lake again, this house will be the first one I look at.

The property had room for all of us. I liked the openness of the main level. Having 2 full bathrooms was definately a plus for our large group. The back patio was a favorite spot for us to sit outside. The shower upstairs had great water pressure and we had plenty of hot water for showers. On the negative side, it was a bit strange not having blinds or curtains on the front window. Made me a little uncomfortable at night. People walking by could see in.

There wasn’t two sofas or an air hockey table as shown in the photos. There isn’t a dishwasher, which is fine, but a drying rack would have been helpful. Be sure to bring bath and kitchen towels. The owners messaged me about that but we were already on our way, but were able to just use our beach towels… Loved the location! Back patio was a Bonus that wasn’t seen in the photos.

Our group of 10 had a lovely stay with most of our activities within walking distance and easy access to the lake. The house had plenty of seating, and we really enjoyed an evening in the backyard. I didn't communicate with Michelle much, but she was very friendly! A few things that would have been helpful to know ahead of time: - We loved walking to the lake out back, but the "beach" is very small and rocky. Not the kind of area you'd want to lay out on a towel. Thankfully we found Breakwater Beach about 10 minutes away. - The house was a little low on supplies, especially for a group of 10 - We brought shower towels, but we didn't realize we needed kitchen towels until we were in the car on the way there (thankfully Michelle sent an email so we could pick some up, but we would have packed them if that was listed on the website!) Overall, I would recommend this house, but I'm definitely a planner and didn't feel quite prepared for the trip.

The location to the beach and the strip was amazing! Overall very well appointed with nice touches like tons of hooks for towels in the bathroom and everything we needed in the kitchen. Bedrooms were good sized and it was nice to have fans in every room. Living space was large and it was great to have table seating for everyone.

Great location! We had 10 guests & this house was perfect for us. Simple but had everything you need. If you are going to do a lot of cooking for a large group you may want to take an extra pot, skillet & spices. Our family had a great stay:)

The property was clean and well maintained. The check in process was difficult due to some technical issue with the vrbo app. It would have been helpful if the property owner had reached out to let us know. The location is great if you want to be in the middle of the action. A very short walk to enjoy the lake view. Overall a very good stay and would stay again and recommend to others.

Property is quaint and campy. Upstairs shower is only for shorter people but glad to have bathroom upstairs. Mattresses are a little lumpy but place was still perfect for 8 of us to spend family time together

A wonderful cabin with a lot of room to enjoy a large group of people. The gathering area was huge and nicely decorated with ample seating. The air conditioner really worked well in the humid and hot weather. The location was perfect as it was only steps from the strip but quiet on the inside. The beach was steps away. The outside area was a nice surprise. Clean and tidy. Michelle was excellent to work with. A great experience and we hope to return next year!

My husband and 5 adult children had a wonderful long weekend at Lake Escape. The cottage is a beautifully decorated, very clean and fully equip. with items for every age. You can relax on the screened in porch with coffee and a book or play games with the kids. The large dining area accommodated all of us for dinner and game night. Located right at the center of the strip with a short walk to the lake, restaurants, shops, arcades, firehouse winery & bars and putt-putt, this cottage will not disappoint. We will definitely be back!

The cottage is furnished so conveniently. Everything you might need is there. We were told in advance to take our own towels and everything else was there. The location is a short walk to the lake. Like almost every other location in GOTL, getting down to the water is a challenge; but can be accomplished if you are surefooted. We loved the proximity to the strip for snacks and meals. We love going to Sandy's for seafood. It is an unexpected pleasure.

Owners are very nice and quick to respond. Very easy check in and out. They have it decorated cute to make you feel at home and cozy. Everything you could possibly need is there. High speed internet so you can work. You have to bring your own towels, dish towels and hot pads. Great place to stay! Got tons of work done. May stay there again in the summer!

This house suited our needs for the weekend. There was some confusion as to whether towels were included or not but the owner worked with us and made it right. It was loud at night with the live music coming from across the street, but the house was comfortable for the six of us.

The property was great! Right in the middle of the strip, a five minute drive to the beach, and plenty of room in this property. We just wish we would have known how much cleaning the owners expected before we left. Not that we are messy or lazy, the knowledge of the cleaning list before renting may have changed our decision on renting. Also, we must have come during spider season because the back patio took a beating with our flip-flops. Overall, we had a blast celebrating our bride to be!
