Our family stay was amazing. The host was very accommodating and helpful down to recommending restaurants.
The house was intriguing and comfortable. Very rarely do you get to sleep in history that is not a refurbished house.
The grist mill and the pats remained commended with the decor was a perfect combination of history and the best of modern comfort.
The outdoor space was wonderful for the kids to go to the waterfall and use their imaginations to play while the adults could sit in one of the many outdoor seating spaces watching them.
All of the people in our party commented on the size of the rooms, the cleanliness and how so close to many places to hike, shop and dine.
We all intend on staying here again.

Our family gathered at this location as we were in town to celebrate a wedding. It turned out to be so much more than just a place to stay – it was an unforgettable experience. The historic charm of the property, with its scattered traces of history, added a unique touch to our stay. The thoughtful updates made throughout the home enhanced our overall experience.
While there were a few minor issues, such as some worn and broken outdoor furniture by the waterfall, a missing remote in one of the bedrooms (we searched through all 65+ drawers, cubbies, and shelves in that room!), non-functioning lights, and the AC struggling with the intense heat, these did not detract from our enjoyment. Despite these minor inconveniences, our stay was nothing short of a 5-star experience.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a special getaway and I am already planning a return visit with family members from France who would also appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this property. The house itself is truly incredible, the surroundings are picturesque, and the overall experience is one to remember.

This was the best place for group! We had 4 families (14 of us all together) with kids ages ranging from 9 to 16. We were all able to have our own room with attached bathrooms. There was a game room that all the kids loved hanging out in. There was plenty of outdoor sitting to be able to hang out outside as well. Kevin was a very attentive host and quickly fix any issues we had. I would definitely recommend this place if you are traveling with a large group.

Our weekend at your property was perfect. We had 4 couples who spend one weekend a year together to catch up and be together. It was just perfect. Thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at the Grist Mill for our family event. It is larger than the pictures portray. The kitchen has a commercial stove and hood that made cooking for our large group very easy. And there is a great game room that provided extra space for the "kids' to segregate to. We will definitely consider renting the Grist Mill for future family gatherings.

Loved everything about this place. Everyone loved having their personal bathrooms, very clean, comfortable, historic but all the modern touches. This is our second time staying at the mill and we plan to come back. Kevin is very responsive and a great host.

Our large extended family has an early Thanksgiving every year (all beds usually filled with longer distance folks, up to 35 for dinner on Saturday). This is our third year at the Gristmill and it continues to satisfy everyone. We've already booked for next year!

We stayed for a wedding at crystal springs resort. It was absolutely perfect. The rooms are huge, and have huge in suite bathrooms. Able to get around easy, and the area is beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A truly unique property - complete with fire pit, stream and its own waterfall! We had plenty of space for eight of us to have room to spare and celebrate the life of one of our beloved friends who passed away two years ago. We were also pleasantly surprised by the nearby places to eat, golf, get supplies, etc. A very special weekend for us.

This is a beautiful four story mill that was converted into a gorgeous home. There are plenty of original mill workings in every room. The bedrooms are large and each has en suite bathrooms. There is a secluded back yard with a beautiful private waterfall and creek.
If you like historical homes, privacy, and waterfalls, you won’t be disappointed. And if you like walking and hiking, there is plenty of that nearby.
We had a small problem when we arrived, but Kevin was quick to respond and sort it out. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family reunion.

Huge Home, with lots of room in each bedroom with personal Bathrooms. So much room in this House, was on Old B&B so everyone has as much privacy as they want. The beautiful setting sitting by the streams and waterfalls was unbelievable, We slept with our windows open to listen to the "white noise" of the water. Perfect for our Bachelorette Party. Loved it and visited the Wineries in area too.

Gorgeous property with its own waterfall. While there are lots of stairs, the views from each of the 5 bedrooms are beautiful. Not far from a wedding venue and a small town with a major grocery store. I got lots of kudos from the family for this selection.

The pictures do not do the house justice—so full of history and charm! And our host was excellent—accessible and helpful.

The house was perfect for our big holiday group. It’s an old house. So. Old problems. But Kevin was awesome and was there to help with any problems. Plenty of room for everyone. And stores nearby to get what you need. Only wish there was a second refrigerator.

If you have a large group looking for an unforgettable experience stay here. The work that went into making this 1805 Grist Mill into a VRBO was amazing. Big rooms and each one with it's own bath, a large kitchen and the unique ambiance of the old mill oozing through every room. The waterfall outside of the mill was the ultimate!

Plenty of rooms, beds & baths. Host was very accommodating & responsive. All amenities were accurate and fully functional. Would definitely look to stay again if we were in the area.

Beautiful home in serene location. Plenty of outdoor space and seating for 8 dear friends celebrating our 60th birthdays to relax and enjoy conversation with wine and the sound of the waterfall! Antique furnishings, stone walls and fireplaces added to its charm. Microwave works fine once the door is lined up correctly, should be repaired. Would suggest bringing a tea kettle. Keurig provided. Beds were comfortable and linens were adequate. WiFi worked well, brought a Bluetooth speaker for music. Would definitely return if in the area.

Tremendous Character!
Just a pure joy and adventure to spend a few days staying in Kevin's former grist mill!! So much character and charm! And that waterfall-side deck/firepit area - too much fun!

West Point Graduation week
A very beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. The town was also adorable and everyone we met was very kind. We enjoyed sitting by the waterfall and enjoying each others company when not on Post for events. All the beds were very comfortable. We did have a small issue with hot water at times, but it was never too bad. The only thing I would recommend is that they purchase a new microwave because it is very difficult to use. In all, we had a wonderful time and the home only added to the amazing graduation week at West Point!

Vernon Valley Family Stay
Large, charming and roomy house. Fun house to explore. Rooms were large, beds comfortable and plenty of it. Because of the age and antique nature of the premises, don’t expect efficient, modern amenities. All the major necessities such as plumbing and utilities worked well. Wifi was weak at times and the the temperature control was uneven in different levels of the four story building - in April this was not a major issue, but imagine in mid summer or winter this could be. All of our party loved our stay although the anxiety level of the mothers of the toddlers was sky high. I would hesitate to recommend this place if there are more than two energetic toddlers in the group. Older children will do fine. A few more luxury items , especially in the kitchen would not hurt but there is everything you need for a large family gathering. Would recommend highly. Thank you, Kevin!

Gorgeous waterfall retreat space
I chose this space for its views and space and the rustic design of the converted Gristmill. I chose the Gristmill as I grew up on a farm in Texas with a working gristmill and was leading a retreat on free writing and meditation from a Jewish lens through a great organization called Moishe house. I felt that this venue would be a great backdrop and escape from the hustle and bustle of New York City and New Jersey and inspire healing and creativity and it fulfilled all my expectations.

Magical spot to have a family Christmas
We had the BEST Christmas ever in this beyond beautiful setting! The pictures of this place don’t begin to show how warm and inviting and fantastic it is. We had plenty of room and Kevin was very easy to work with, answering questions on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
We’d gather here again in a heartbeat!

A Beautiful Place for a Weekend Away
A few friends visited Kevin's property for the weekend following Thanksgiving and had a lovely time. The property is gorgeous, and the home has a seemingly endless amount of space, including really nice guest rooms throughout and a large communal space downstairs (and up!). Kevin was communicative and courteous after we encountered an issue after check-in, and offered multiple solutions that we were satisfied with. We had a great time!

Family early Thanksgiving/reunion
The property was excellent for our large family gathering. The location worked well for our widespread group and the unique and comfortable old grist mill and waterfall(!) was enjoyed by everyone. All 18 beds were pronounced as comfortable, the oven fit our 29 pound turkey and all assorted casserole and vegetable dishes. Communication with Kevin was quick and responsive via text. Our only minor complaint was that the dishwasher took forever to complete even the short cycle, and the hot water system struggled to keep up with our dishwashing, and showering, needs. Overall a wonderful experience and we've already booked for next year's reunion!

Would Stay Again
Our stay at the property started off a little bumpy because there was a weird noise coming from the dining area and a small plumbing issue. However, the owner was extremely responsive and addressed our issues quickly which was great. This house is great if you want to disconnect and spend some quality time with your family and friends.

Hot water problem
All the bathrooms had hot water issues. Notified the manager who promptly sent a plumber who temporarily fixed some problems. But the shower heads were all clogged. The manager is changing the diverter.
The property is very scenic and beautiful. The waterfall adds to the charm.
The kitchen utensils, like frying pans etc. need replacement.
Everything else was fine.

Beautiful large house and gorgeous property
We had a wonderful stay at the Gristmill. We got together with a large group of several families. There was plenty of space for everyone inside, all with comfortable beds. The rooms are huge and beautiful. So many interesting touches and cool old mill engineering equipment. The common area on the first floor had plenty of room for everyone, and a nice kitchen and large dining area. The outside area with the waterfall is beautiful, with several seating areas, and also a grassy area out front. The town is very scenic with lots of farms and farm stores nearby, and we enjoyed two hikes on the Appalachian Trail, as well as a beach day at nearby Wawayanda Lake. We were so glad we stayed here and had a wonderful time!

Great family time away from the city!
The Mill house is filled with so much history and character surrounded by lush greenery and flowers and a small creek and waterfall. The house itself is quirky and wonderful. The 4th floor has has multiple games including chess and a foosball table and a huge shelf of books and dvds. I loved the older furnishing and TV’s with DVD players! It fits the house perfectly and would be a shame to “over modernize” this beautiful place. We hiked the Appalachian trail twice which is only about a mile from the house. The host, Kevin was very kind and promptly answered any questions or requests. We hosted a small college graduation party for my daughter here since her school had no ceremony. Kevin own a restaurant and even catered for us driving a ways to deliver delicious food! Thank you Kevin, my family made some amazing memories here!

A Property with a History and Charm
This is an unusual house with some fascinating furnishings, ad a lovely backyard with waterfall. Once manager, Kevin, came to solve our internet connection issues, we were able to settle in and enjoy our stay.

Great Vacation & Great Place to Stay
Delaware's governor closed his state due to Covid 19, so our group (out of NY and NJ) was shut out of our Spring 2020 golf trip. At the last minute, we decided to detour to Northern NJ. We found this gristmill in Glenwood, NJ.
5 days of golf and 4 nights of great dinners, then outside with drinks and cigars enjoying the waterfall has now provided us with a new option for our spring trips. The Gristmill is great, and we could not be happier with the choice we made to stay at this wonderful property. Thanks to Kevin, our Gristmill Property Manager, for making sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. Great trip and great accomodations - we'll be back!
