Forget the rest, you`ve found the best! Very rare historic La Jolla Beach Cottage in an incredible location. Wonderful ocean views await and the beach is just steps away from this beautifully finished vacation home. The home is on Ocean Lane between Coast Boulevard and Prospect Street, right in the very heart of the Village of La Jolla.
Step inside this 1930`s era beach cottage lovingly restored and maintained for your enjoyment. Some of the highlights include hardwood flooring, wood ceilings with remote-controlled skylights that open for a sunroof effect. Bay windows offer peek ocean views from the living room, dining area, and guest suite. Off the guest suite is the bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the cookware, and dishes needed to prepare your favorite meals, along with plenty of counter space and a period-inspired Northstar refrigerator and Convection oven.
In the living room, there is a gas fireplace to warm the evenings along with a comfy couch where you can relax and watch your favorite shows, including HBO, on the flat-screen HDTV. Or if you`d like to spend a lazy day in bed, there`s a flat-screen in the master as well, but the ocean views may be too distracting!

Guests at Casa de las Olas can take a brief stroll down to the ocean and La Jolla Cove. Extraordinarily beautiful, La Jolla Cove is one of the most photographed shorelines in Southern California. Because it is a protected Ecological Reserve, marine wildlife abounds. featuring sea lions, dolphins and even whales during migrating seasons. Water visibility at the Cove can sometimes exceed 30 feet, making it a very popular spot for Scuba, snorkeling and kayaking. Just up the stairs is the lively Village shopping and dining district where you will find unique treasures and delicious ocean view restaurants.

Great spot. La Jolla is awesome spot to chill and gateway to other activities. Walking in the morning to seagulls and sea lions in the distance was super peaceful. Ocean view as advertised from the living room. Would recommend.

Place is as advertised and ideally located in La Jolla Village, one block from the ocean and steps away from restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops and more. We had a lovely stay and would come back again.

Charming La Jolla Cottage
My daughter and I had a great week at this property. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and to the many restaurants and shops in La Jolla Village.

Perfect location
The house was great for my husband, 2 kids and I. 2 on the bed & 2 on the pull out couch. The location was incredible! I can’t imagine staying anywhere else if we are ever back in the area. Thank you for an amazing stay in La Jolla.

Amazing location, great cottage
Location to the Cove and all Prospect and La Jolla Village shops sets this place apart from anywhere else in LJ or SD. Bluewater was very quick to respond to questions and concerns. Checkin/checkout was seamless, and the home itself is great for a couple or small family (3 or less). The space is tight in the bathroom, but this is what you get in La Jolla for the price and location. So no complaints there. Highly recommend, and will be coming back next time we vaca in LJ.

Awesome location!
This property is adorable. The location fantastic. One block down to the cliffs and one block up to shopping and restaurants. My only complaint is that the bed is very hard and uncomfortable. We would definitely stay here again, but I’ll bring a mattress topper.

Deposit issue
The rental company added a large security deposit on the day of my arrival to access their cottage; this was not part of original rental agreement. While I made an immediate credit card payment, their return of my deposit took a better part of 10 days and several text before I received their credit. It’s a great location, but I doubt that I’ll
use Bluewater rental again.

Cozy house in the heart of La Jolla
Beautiful house close the beach. The property was just as described, clean and well stocked. Walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Would definitely book again when in the area.

Perfect getaway for two with a view!
The cottage is in a perfect location close to the ocean and a few steep steps to the village. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies and appliances are excellent with an antique flair. The decor is warm wood tones with bay windows that show off the gorgeous view. The property manager quickly assisted us by correcting the address to the parking garage and we were all set. Air conditioned, cozy and quaint we found ourselves not wanting to leave. We look forward to staying here again.

Met our high expectations!
This beautiful place was exactly as described and all the great reviews we read before staying here turned out to be accurate. The location is perfect... you're a short walk from the beach with an ocean view and a short walk up the stairs in the opposite direction puts you in the middle of LaJolla with restaurants, shops, an art gallery, and a great beer brewery (Karl Strauss).
The unit was very clean and comfortable... perfect for two people but may be tight for more than two. We rented a car, and parking wasn't really a big problem on the street, but access to the parking garage provided with the unit wasn't very straightforward. I understand this was a new thing so hopefully they will get the issues smoothed out.
I highly recommend this place and we will be back when we can stay longer!

Great little house
This house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids). Very clean and well stocked. The view was beautiful. People walking by commented on it and asked about it. It was so nice to be able to walk to the nearby beaches and see the seals. I would definitely stay here again!

Amazing location
Location is amazing and unbeatable. You can enjoy the best of La Jolla in walking distance. The apartment is better suited for a couple or one family. There is one bathroom and the shower is totally open to the bedroom. A dish washer (even if a small one) would be a plus. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Perfect couples getaway
We loved this cottage! It’s in a convenient location and everything was clean and comfortable. Woke up to ocean sounds every morning! The steam shower and small gas furnace/fireplace were wonderful perks :)

Gorgeous, clean, well-stocked, perfect beach location for romantic get away
Can't say enough good things about this quaint beach cottage. So close to the seals at La Jolla Cove. I loved how light the cottage is with the sky lights
The wood trim inside is beautiful. The bonus is the steam sauna shower and jacuzzi tub. Oh and the vintage appliances are adorable. Highly recommend this cottage for couples. Just a few steps from the beach and shopping, the location doesnt get better.

Very cozy and fantastic location!
The cottage was very comfortable and cozy. The location was perfect! One block from the beach and one block from the main street with a nice coffee shop right around the corner which we visited twice in the short amount of time we were there. There is also an ocean view from the living room and bedroom. We didn't even have to drive anywhere since everything was within walking distance. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Casa de las Olas cottage was AMAZING!
We thoroughly enjoyed our ocean view stay at this cozy cottage in La Jolla. Location was fantastic, one block to the ocean, the cove, many restaurants and shopping. The cottage looked newly remodeled, clean, beautifully decorated and had all amenities available and working properly. The bed was very comfortable, the Jacuzzi tub also had two separate shower head options which were extra enjoyable. The new retro style appliances added so much character to the full kitchen; dining area was a perfect gathering place. We're already planning our next stay here. It exceeded our expectations!

lovely little beach cottage
The property was exquisite and the location perfect--one block from the ocean, with a view. We were a family of four (two kids ages ten and twelve) and it was a little tight for us as the one very small bathroom is located off the bedroom. Four people trying to get ready in the mornings was a bit comical. The parking situation (there is no off street parking) was at times a bit inconvenient but overall workable. If you stay here with a car be aware that on bright sunny days at mid-day, when the whole world wants to be at the beach you can forget about finding a parking space on the street. There is a garage nearby, though, and when we found the right one parking rates were pretty reasonable. When we went to San Diego for the day and came back in the evening street parking was readily available-the problem was only at mid-day, and my sole beef was that it would have been nice to know how crowded the streets could become at mid-day because we could easily have planned around that. The place was more or less as advertised, and lovely. It would be perfect for a couple, kind of tight for families, but I'd probably stay here again because looks and location was it was really one of the nicest places I've ever stayed.

The pictures tell it all! This property was clean, comfortable and beautiful with a great view. The location was perfect, we could walk to all the shops and restaurants. We did have a car which we used everyday. Much to our surprise, we never had a hard time finding an on street parking spot. We highly recommend this cottage!

Looking for a weekend away from Los Angeles stress, a friend and I set out to La Jolla to find haven near the water. We expected the 8001 Ocean Lane property to be the ideal getaway but had no idea it was going to be as marvelous as it was. The listing photos and description do not do justice to the serene and charming atmosphere of the place. It was brilliantly clean with all the necessary amenities and left us beaming with delight at the door, fearing that if we walked too far in it would end up being a dream. The surrounding area has a variety of shops, cafes, and attractions that are just blocks away making exploring easily accessible. Yet, even with the town center being just up the street, there is little rowdy foot or vehicle traffic around the cottage providing the perfect feeling of comfortable seclusion. The area and shops are incredibly welcoming, relaxing, and fun – look for smiling servers and delicious treats at Cups cupcakery! I highly recommend the cottage to any friends, family, partners, or individuals looking for a beautiful and accommodating place to stay in the La Jolla area.
