My stay at Kilmeny County House was perfect! Amazing location, awesome breakfast!

The breakfast at Kilmeny was amazing! Kilmeny is in the perfect location to see all of Islay and the estate is super peaceful. I would definitely recommend Kilmeny house to anyone.

Honestly, there is nothing that I can. think of that would make my stay better. Both Margaret and Blair, the owners, were perfect. I would enthusiastically recommend Kilmeny house to anyone.

Wunderbare Lage, tolle Gastgeber, großartiges Frühstück. Es gab Tee und Kuchen zur Begrüßung. Ich fühlte mich wirklich zu Hause ind diesem schönen Farmhaus.

Margaret and Blair are the perfect hosts, and have created a beautiful haven of serenity. Luxurious and total class. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when coming to Islay now. Absolutely everything about Kilmeny is perfect!

Kilmenny is extremely comfortable with friendly and informative hosts. The food was delicious.

The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide range of choices, freshly prepared food and outstanding presentation. The hosts were welcoming and the dining room was very comfortable. We were introduced to the other guests.

We can’t think of any way in which our stay could have been improved. We thoroughly recommend Kilmenny and are confident that it will appeal to a wide range of guests.

An exceptional, beautifully presented BnB where you are made to feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.

Everything. Good location, beautiful home tastefully furnished. Lovely bedroom & ensuite. Excellent buffet breakfast. Most of all the hosts, Margaret & Blair, we’re exceptional, making us fell welcome from the moment we arrived. Margaret is also a great cook. Thank you.

The best breakfast selection ever. Cordon blue cookery! All the little extras - fridge in room, fresh milk in fridge, welcome afternoon tea and home-baked cakes. Such beautiful antique furniture and silver service. Everything was just perfect!

Wonderful place

Wonderful hosts who had thought of every last detail to make our stay a memorable one. The most comfortable and luxurious surroundings, fabulous home made cakes and the best breakfast spreads we have had, all presented beautifully. Could not recommend highly enough.

Kilmeny is an absolutely wonderful location with a great view over the nearby hills. But most of it the hosts Margaret and Blair are such lovely and nice people! Strongly recommend to stay at Kilmeny if you are on Islay

Tranquil & hospitable with a great location and amazing breakfast.

Margaret and Blair went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Great local knowledge and very accommodating of any and all requests. Delicious breakfast, quiet and serene location that is still within minutes of distilleries and the ferry. Will be rebooking in the future.

No phone signal but that could be seen as a positive (WiFi was excellent).

A stunning location, cutely decorated, amazing food, super clean and truly lively hosts. very comfortable beds and a good shower. everything there you could ever want. You could not ask for more and would love to ask to simply stay here forever

An outstanding experience

This accommodation is exceptional. The finest bed and breakfast we have ever experienced. We were in the suite which was exquisite in its quality and comfort. The attention to detail was incredible. The breakfast was fulsome and magnificent. Margaret and Blair were the most convivial and considerate hosts.

The location was nice and peaceful. Our room was very spacious and luxurious. By far the best breakfast of all the B&B places we have ever stayed in. We also loved being invited to see the lambs which had been born the previous night! What a bonus surprise!

Expensive compared to other B&Bs, but definitely worth it.

Kind, warm, friendly couple who couldn’t do enough to make our stay wonderful.

Breakfast was wonderful. The freshly baked scones were delicious, as was the cinnamon toast. Fresh fruit, overnight oats, amazing. Our room was exceptional and the peaceful surroundings also. Margaret and Blair wonderful hosts.

Fabulous!!

Absolutely everything especially the attentiveness of the hosts, facilities were incredible, modern features without ruining authentic country look, the little touches including freshly baked goods on arrival and at breakfast as well as the vast selection for breakfast.

Excellent stay. Peaceful, luxurious. We miss you Kilmeny

We stayed in a Deluxe Double Room with a bath and it was magnificent. This was our final and restful stay after a couple of nights in a hotel. A delicious homemade cake and tea on arrival.It was very Scottish style. The bedroom is a haven of comfort. I didn't wake up until morning:) The breakfast was fantastic and served so well. You really do not need to go anywhere. There are, however, lovely walks on the grounds you can do. Otherwise, settle into your robe, pour yourself a pot of tea whilst reading a book or looking out to the wonderful views! Would happily stay again:)

A relaxing B&B stay, a substantial hearty breakfast and a warm welcome.

The breakfast was fantastic. A generous spread of fruit, cereals, juice and granola to start off and then options of various eggs and meat for the main breakfast with specials available. Delicious homemade breads accompanied the meal. Spacious room with very comfortable large bed. The bathroom was also impressive with a club-footed bath and separate shower. The welcoming and accommodating hosts are clearly knowledgeable about the local area. Would happily stay again.
