About this cabin rental
This log cabin is at the base of the Sawtooths, just 4 miles from Stanley. We have 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, full kitchen, screened and covered porch, a covered balcony, and lots of extras. The cabin is in a quiet location (2 miles off the highway) just 7 miles from Stanley Lake and 8 miles from Redfish Lake. Our 3-acre property is bordered by a stream and forest service property. The owners' residence and shop are also on the property. The Iron Creek Campground (which is the trailhead for Alpine and Sawtooth Lakes) is less than 5-minute drive from the cabin. The owners live in another house on the property and will be glad to discuss local attractions and hiking trails.

Incredible spot and host, would absolutely stay again!

This is our 4th time staying at Bluebird Cabin. We like to cross country ski from the Cabin which has lots of options. Jim joins us on some days. He showed us a couple new places to explore. Always appreciate him broading our knowledge of the area.

This was our first stay in Stanley and it was wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed for our small family and pup. We had a few days of rain from the hurricane but made the best of it and the cabin was a great home base. The owners were incredibly helpful with the rental and the surrounding area. Highly recommend!

This cabin was amazing and extremely cozy! We were there for 6 nights and enjoyed every moment we had there! The hosts were beyond welcoming and more then happy to answer any questions we had. Also they allowed us to have privacy which was nice! Their house is on the same property as the cabin but we didn’t see them much! They are also very responsive which is a huge plus! I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone who is wanting to visit Stanley! The cabin is a short drive to most popular spots!

We had an excellent experience at the Bluebird Cabin. The property is quiet, very scenic with mountain views, and close to hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. The cabin itself is very attractive, roomy, and has everything you need to relax and unwind in comfort.
The hosts, Jim and Adrienne, really go out of their way to ensure a great experience for their guests. They are friendly and helpful, and answered endless questions about the best places to hike, and other things to do in the area. They even provided fresh baked cookies and a bottle of wine for us!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in paradise, and are hopeful we can return in the near future.
We highly recommend this property!

We stay at the Bluebird cabin every summer and it never disappoints. The cabin itself is warm and cozy and pretty much everything you’d ever want from a rustic cabin experience. Wood burning stove, balcony overlook and a tin roof so the rain can sooth you to sleep at night.
Jim is a font of Knowledge about Stanley and the surrounding Sawtooth mountains and lakes and trails. He’s happy to join you around the campfire and indulge you in whatever information you might be after. Highly recommended!!!
(The namesake Mountain Bluebirds hatch a clutch right outside the front door every year. Amazing to watch their iridescent bodies fly back and fourth with snacks for the babies)

We had a great time exploring the Sawtooth National Forest -- hiking, fishing, and relaxing. Awesome hosts and would definitely stay here again!

Jim is a great host who was there to greet us on our arrival. He is extremely kind and helpful, having kept in touch with us for a week before our stay with regard to weather conditions. As it happened, there was a lot of snow, but the roads were passable. When it did get dodgy, the road was cleared by the afternoon.
The cabin itself is very cosy. There is very efficient electric heating as well as a log burner. The kitchen has everything you need for self-catering without the need to go out to eat.
Beds are large and comfortable with electric blankets.

Stanley in the winter is a beautiful place to spend time. The Bluebird Cabin is in a location where you can Cross Country Ski in many directions. Go ski then sit by the fire. Jim the owner knows the area very well, loves to ski and might just join you on a ski tour.
This is our 3rd winter staying at the Bluebird Cabin. My hangout in Stanley for sure.

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful and cozy Stanley cabin. The location was perfect...a short drive from town. We were able to bring our two dogs and they loved all the space surrounding the cabin where they could run and play. There was also a great hike to a gorgeous meadow right out the front door. The kitchen was well equipped to cook dinners and we loved having fires in the wood burning stove each night. The owner was very helpful answering any questions we had and was always available if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing views and awesome opportunities to play or relax. Cabin has everything you need and is super comfortable. Jim is the best host! Close enough to town if you want to go out, but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful and stunning Sawtooths. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Stanley getaway
We had such a wonderful time at Jim's cabin in Stanley. He was welcoming and kind and gave great recommendations on places to eat and hike. The cabin was incredibly cozy, and we loved hanging out by the fire with a good book. There is even a beautiful view of the sawtooths from his property! Would highly recommend if you are considering a visit to Stanley.

Cross country skiing mecca
The Bluebird cabin gives you access to a variety of cross country skiing opportunities. Most of them are right out your front door or a short drive. Jim has lots of suggestions and goes out most days himself. The welcome cookies are yummy. The fire keeps you toasty. Does it get any better than this.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday
We had a lovely time at this sweet little cabin. The host was extremely accommodating. We were welcomed with cookies and Jim even brought us a freshly baked loaf of sourdough bread. It was just the getaway we needed. We highly recommend it!

Great place to stay
This was our THIRD stay at the Bluebird. It's been a fantastic visit every time. The property serves as a great hub for hiking and exploring the Stanley area. The cabin was clean and everything worked great. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous winter getaway
The property was completely charming - rustic but well appointed; comfortable, tidy. Jim was a generous host who lent us an extra pair of snowshoes to explore the neighborhood during our stay. There’s no TV but that’s exactly what we were looking for - total tranquility and time spent in front of the fire watching the snow fall. We would absolutely stay here again, perhaps in a different season to take advantage of the hiking and fishing Stanley offers.

Peaceful and cozy
This cabin is perfect for those who want to explore the area anytime of the year. We were there during the winter. So many options for cross-country skiing right from the cabin or a short drive away. Jim was very helpful in giving us ideas on where to go. He might just join you on an outing. His pictures of the Sawtooth area are beautiful. A great place to hang out and enjoy your surroundings.

Home Away From Home
Another fantastic trip to Stanley and the Blue Bird Cabin. We were again treated like family by Jim and Adrienne, and the kids are already asking when we’ll be back. It’s the perfect place for a family vacation and an ideal location for taking advantage of all the Sawtooths have to offer. Can’t wait to return!

Bluebird Cabin Stanley Idaho Beautiful!
We love this cute cabin and have rented it three years in a row. It is so homey and has the best location ever at the foot of the mountains. Hiking out the front door! The hosts are the best! I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great experience in the Sawtooth Mountains.

Beauty in the Sawtooth Mountains!!
The season was shutting down in Stanley, but we still found plenty of things to do up there. It was nice knowing we had a nice warm cabin to come home to. And that is exactly what Jim has created up there, a cozy home for his guests to come home too!!!

Excellent cabin and location. You won't be disappointed.
This was our second stay and it won't be the last. Jim and Adrienne are fabulous hosts. The property is clean and all appliances in good working order. The location is great for day hikes and a short drive into Stanley. Jim has years of hiking knowledge of the Sawtooth range and is always willing to share information and suggest hikes. Looking forward to coming back.

Stunning views and solitude
Jim and Adrienne Stark are fantastic hosts. They are warm, friendly, accessible, and very knowledgeable about the community, local history, and extraordinary hiking trails. Jim built the bluebird cabin in 1976 and it’s a very rustic comfortable well-equipped log cabin. We had an absolutely delightful time. (Our dog was welcome too.)

Amazing experience- Cabin was just what we needed for a relaxing vacation in Stanley. Jim was very helpful and a gracious host. Enjoyed everything about the cabin, property and the Iron Creek area. We are already planning our next visit to the Bluebird Cabin.

Excellent cabin and host
As a longtime resident, Jim was very helpful by providing info about the hikes we had planned, and was a joy to be around. He even provided delicious cookies and a bottle of wine upon our arrival, and invited us for a creekside social on our last day. The property exceeded our expectations and was quite comfortable. I highly recommend this cabin rental for anyone planning a trip to the Sawtooths.

Cozy and quaint hideaway!
Sitting on the front porch and looking at the amazing view of the Sawtooth Mountains is a beautiful thing!! The Bluebird cabin is very comfortable and very well stocked with seasonings, towels, blankets for chilly mornings and a chilled bottle of wine and a jar of delicious cookies to welcome us! Adrianne gave us time to unpack the car and then came over and greeted us. Jim stopped by in the morning to give hiking advice! Our highlight was having the fox walk by us when we were outside and looking at Jim’s amazing picture books of his hikes in the Sawtooth!! Thank you very much for sharing your hand built, rustic cabin with our family!!

Spectacular Spot to Stay in Stanley!
This was a repeat stay for us. This time, we had a group of seven, including two young children and our pup. We all were warmly welcomed by the owners, Jim and Adrienne. At their recommendation, we hiked to Goat Meadow. This was the highlight of my trip. Its beauty is almost indescribable. The cabin’s location makes it a perfect spot to stay for explorations to Redfish Lake, Stanley Lake, and Ketchum. The accommodations are cozy and comfortable, and the owners have thought of many special touches, such as a S’more kit and welcome gifts of homemade cookies and wine. We plan to come back again soon. Thanks for everything, Adrienne and Jim!

Such a Perfect Getaway
Loved staying here during our wedding in Stanley. The cabin is cozy, the Starks were perfectly accommodating, and the wildflowers surrounding the property were beautiful.

Wonderful Stay
My family and I enjoyed our time very much at the Bluebird cabin. The renters are very friendly and willing to help in anyway possible. The location is grand and beautiful. The cabin had every that is needed and more. Just bring your clothes and food. We would definitely stay at this place again.
