Southbank draws a sophisticated crowd to its cultural venues, which include the Malthouse theater, based in a restored brewery, and the state-of-the-art Melbourne Recital Centre which hosts classical concerts.
The apartment is a 5 mins walk to the sprawling Crown Entertainment Complex where there are dozen of restaurants (including Dinner by Heston, Rockpool, Long Chim and Nobu), foodcourt (Chinese, Spanish, Japanese, Indian, Italian, etc), gold class cineplex, bars and designer boutiques.
The Yarra boulevard seems to stretch endlessly into Southbank Boulevard at one end and Southwharf Boulevard at the other end- featuring cool restaurants, bars, artists and buskers, cargo sheds housing craft-beer bars.
3 mins walk to Casino & tram stop
10-15 mins walk into CBD Flinders Street (via Power Street/Queensbridge Street/Yarra Boulevard). Once you are there, the CBD is a Free Tram Zone. You can hop on and off any tram.

The room had serious lack of maintenance , no working A/C , could not open bedroom window due to broken latches so extremely stuffy , could not have proper showers as showers only dribbled out a small amount of water , only one bin bag for a whole week , carpets were terribly stained and dirty as were the chairs . Only positive was location

Few things need attention tap in ensuite was not fitted correctly carpet had lots of stains in needs replacing shower head main bathroom needs replacing Fridge did not keep thing cool needs regassed or replacing twin bed room window would not close correctly and window could do with a good cleaning especially the sliding doors.

The whole apartment is in desperate need of a deep clean as it is dirty and poorly maintained.
The furniture is marked with food and stains as well as every single carpeted area. Very poor maintenance on fittings (ensuite tap cannot be turned on without the whole faucet falling apart) master bed is not screwed together and bed head is snapped. The dining table (made of glass) and chairs are unstable and loose. The tv cabinet has locks but is all broken and the locked items are easily accessible. The door was literally ripped off the hinges when we arrived.
The kitchen had food remaining on surfaces and appliances, when washed they were heavily stained and/or burnt. Empty boxes in cupboards with general rubbish throughout. This made cooking difficult as I have coeliac.
Hair, dust and fluff particularly in the laundry and bathroom was phenomenal. The mirrors and ledge were covered in thick dust
Skirting throughout whole apartment was full of hair and food / splashes of who knows what.
The aircon remote was not programmed to the aircon and needed reprogramming to work.
There also was no fire evacuation plan, no extinguishers in the kitchen and/or first aid Information which I though was required when at a Stayz property.

Our bed broken. The property was not very clean at all. For what we paid for one night, I would not be recommending this to anyone nor would we use this property again. Very disappointing.

The property was a great location and had everything, but the carpets and linen were stained and dirty.
There was no quilt cover and fitted sheets for the beds.

Great location. Plenty of space. Handy to have a parking space. Great floor to ceiling windows with city scape views. Nice to have access to a heated pool too. Carpet seriously needs replacing, very stained. Walls could do with cleaning/repainting. Clean enough overall.

Filthy!
This is the worst accommodation/customer service experience I have ever encountered.
We found multiple hairs and soap scum plastered on the walls and glass of both showers. There were also multiple hairs on the bed head as well as the king size bed being made up with single size sheets so that our feet stuck out under the covers. The fold down bed/couch was broken when we got there and unable to put back into the sitting position. There was also a layer of dust on the top of the mirror in the bathroom and beside the fridge that was literally half a centimetre thick. There was food left in the cupboard from previous guests. The kicker was emptying the bin bag out of the bin to find the bottom of the bin filthy with leftover biscuits and a used Covid rapid antigen test.
When we contacted Ready Set Rentals to notify them of this the next morning we were told we (not something a paying guest should have to do) had to email a separate email to explain the issues so that they could come back and be fixed. We sent through images and were told somebody would come to the apartment in the afternoon to remake the bed with proper sheets and clean the showers. When we got back they had simply dumped the new sheets on the bed and upon inspecting the bathroom found the same hair and soap scum. When we callesld and emailed Ready Set Rentals we were told a manager would be dropping around to check the issue. He never turned up and kept putting us off. I asked for a refund and told them we would find somewhere else for our third night. In the end we had to stay as they refused to refund us and kept going silent on the other end of the phone when we kept asking them to speak to a manager to authorise it. The kicker was the RAT test in the bottom of the bin.
We're quite sure what is going on with Ready Set Apartments is a dodgy con accommodation business. Not a professional accommodation provider in the heart of Melbourne.
We will be following up with the ACCC, Melbourne Council and Stayz to ensure we get out money back.

Southgate one is close to the Casino and walking distance to the CBD and all that southbank has to offer. The appartment was clean and equipt with the basics. Three bedroom allow room the spread out for a family and is safe and quiet.
