About this house rental

Spend warm summer days on the deck, listening to the waves or winter days in front of the fireplace with Nubble Light peaking through the windows. Take postcard photos from a 5 bedroom oceanfront home about 1500 feet from Nubble Lighthouse; a mile to the nearest beach. All of the rooms have ocean views; half of the rooms have a view of the Nubble Light House. From the deck, lower level sunroom, or sunny dining room there are panoramic views from Long Sands Beach to the Nubble Light. On a clear night, you can see four lighthouses(from left to right): Nubble or Cape Neddick Light, Boon Island Lighthouse, the Isle of Shoals, and Whaleback Light. No bedroom is more than 7 steps from a bathroom. There are four queen bedrooms, and one with two twin beds. Watch the dawn strike the Nubble Lighthouse; the rhythmic waves crashing against the rocks; the sea birds, the pleasure, lobster and fishing boats, and kayakers. Explore rocky pools at low tide. The perfect place to relax or to walk. Enjoy the cries of the seagulls and the salt air. There are two 46"and a 55" HDTVs, an XBox One X, 5 Sonos wireless speaker units, and a surround sound set, (for hooking up to Internet radio or sync your music with your smart phone, iPad, or iPhone). Enjoy WiFi, and a multifunction printer to print your boarding passes. Free long distance to U.S. and Canada.
Why stay here? For a family gathering or retreat, there are five levels and a .61 acre yard allowing places to be apart or together. There is a separate game/family room for the children, just out of earshot from most of the rest of our home, another living room right by the kitchen and dining area, a deck off of the dining area, and a first floor sunroom for a get away. The Nubble is magical for us at any time of day or year. The leaves in York were stunning again this fall. My sister says that the Christmas lights on the Nubble makes it even more enchanting, as you can see from the picture Michael Blanchette took. The storms can be majestic showing the awesome power of the waves as they roar and spray on the rocks. Each dawn seems different, the dawn mist, the red in the morning, or the break of any day on the Nubble. No matter what you are doing you can enjoy the incredible light as it changes through the day. Some of the sunsets are spectacular, too. On moonlit nights, gazing on the shimmering waves, sometimes I hear 'Clair de Lune' other times, 'Moonlight Sonata' or 'La Mer.' We love the sound and smell of the ocean, and the cries of the seagulls, even as they drop shell fish on the rocks. We hope that you will, too. No weddings or large parties. First booking priority is given to returning guests for the same week(s) in the next year. There are reduced rates from September to May, and three day weekends are available from late October until the end of April. May to September are minimum weekly bookings.

We have seen stand up paddle boarders on calm days go out toward the lighthouse. On anything but a really calm day, I wouldn't want to try it. :-)

Or kayak in the ocean or up the York or Cape Neddick rivers and time your trip with the incoming or outgoing tide.

There are many fine restaurants in the area, and some are award winning.
More things to do: Stonewall Kitchens, which is just about opposite the I-95 exit for York, and it is a lovely place to shop for delicious goodies, have lunch, or just sample and browse until you make up your mind.

Some people fish off our rocks, or go on a boat to sightsee or to fish.
For history buffs, there is an old wharf owned by John Hancock, An Old Gaol (jail) which is also a museum, Inns and other historic things such as an old cemetery with death angels on some of the grave stones.

There are three or four golf courses relatively near. One is a top 100 public course.
There is an outlet complex just over the state line from the NH -- ME border in the next town of Kittery, or go a bit over an hour north to Freeport for their mall and L.L. Bean.. York, has no shortage of art, craft or touristy shops. You can almost always find something to do, and when you can't, Boston is 68 miles away. :-)

March in Maine is beautiful. The off season stay at this home was absolutely wonderful. The home has everything you will ever need. The host was attentive and always available. If you want a place to enjoy with your entire family this house is the place as it provides enough separate space for everyone. Eating in was a joy as the breathtaking ocean views made you feel like you are on a cruise ship! Just an absolute gem which we will be booking again.

My family and I stayed here for an extended weekend vacation to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. The home exceeded our expectations! The gourmet kitchen was fully stocked, the home was extremely clean, modern and well maintained throughout, the beds were very comfortable and the views were breathtaking. Not only did you have the expanse of ocean from every room and right out your door, but you had the Nubble Lighthouse just up the street and in view from your backyard. This home could comfortably accommodate 3 couples, given there were 3 separate "apartments/lofts" that were very private and in their own separate areas. Our teen had a TV room, bathroom and loft bedroom and was in heaven. The first floor "apartment area" could hold another couple and included a large porch overlooking the ocean, and the master bedroom also had its separate space apart from the rest of the house. The location of the home is perfect for day trips into Kittery for the outlets and all other Maine points of attraction. There are also many great restaurants around. The owner, Sean, was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions very quickly. We visited in the dead of winter and enjoyed it so much that we can't wait to experience this beautiful home in the warmer summer months when we plan to return. Overall, a memorable and relaxing time.

This house is absolutely everything and more, it’s spotless and the location is just amazing with beautiful views. We stayed over Christmas and had an awful coastal storm with 60-70 mile an hour winds, we lost power overnight but the house is equipped with a generac generator which starts automatically when power is out, it was amazing, we were able to cook and have heat and lights, we didn’t have cable for 24 hours but it was fine as we did a puzzle and enjoyed being unplugged, was a beautiful stay and would love to go back next year!!

Family get-away/get-together in March
Family get-away/get-together in March
March??? Who would go on a coastal vacation in Maine in March?? Why go to an ocean front home close to a beach during a New England winter?? We did! We needed time "away from it all" and Together as a family! We chose Sean's home because it promised all the amenities plus a gorgeous setting.....and it did not disappoint! First of all....the VIEW!! From almost every window of the house in every room of the house...even one of the showers!....one gazes upon the mighty Atlantic Ocean. It doesn't matter what time of year one views the vast horizon....it is always AWESOME in the true sense of the word! This home allows you to have that feeling all year round both outside and IN! Speaking of inside....this home provides all you need to eat, sleep and be merry together as a group of family and/or friends. As well as cozy spaces for individual meditative time by the sea! Sean provides explicit information about everything from panini maker to sound system. As a host, Sean takes his role seriously, assuring that his guests enjoy all that this house and the area have to offer. He was in contact both upon check in and after check out! I highly recommend this wonderful home for a great get-away!

Beautiful house with fantastic views!
Beautiful house with fantastic views!
This house is so awesome. It is just as pictured except being there is so much better. Sean is the perfect host. The house is very clean, comfortable & inviting. The ocean & lighthouse views are just amazing. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and clam & lobster shacks. We also had exceptional pizza. My husband loved fishing off the rocks & caught four Striped Bass! So much to do & see in the area. We cannot wait to go back.
