About this house rental
Our townhome in this gated, quiet, very private resort enjoys a perfect location - true oceanfront (about 20 paces from the sea) with completely unobstructed views to the ocean and sunsets. Stroll from your lanai, past palm trees, bougainvilleas, the pool and palapa down to the steps into the sea - a private access from which to dive, snorkel or swim. The luxury of walking a few hundred feet to warm, calm, crystal clear water of this quality can't be overstated. A fabulous reef and sealife are just a few yards from your patio.
Our location within the resort enjoys consistent sea breezes unblocked by other buildings and we never hear neighbors, dogs or traffic. Our new windows and doors are louvered and screened - allowing you to keep out the uninvited [occasional mosquitos/geckos], without closing off the cooling winds. Our kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need in the way of high quality appliances and utensils. There is A/C on both levels, hot water at the kitchen and both showers, portable and ceiling fans, full size refrigerator, quality cookware and more. The bedroom has an ensuite bath, a comfy king size bed, a second large deck with seating, and an unobstructed view overlooking the sea. Everything you'll need to relax, unwind, and enjoy - the views, the sun, the water, and your vacation. Should you ever have an issue our manager cannot solve to your satisfaction, you can call or email us and we will find a solution.
There is a lot to see and do on Curacao. You'll find that most of the development - the resorts, the homes, hotels, shops/businesses, traffic, and people are concentrated in and around the bustling, multi-cultural city of Willemstad. The city and old Dutch harbor area are worthy of a site-seeing trip, but you'll be very happy to be returning to the quiet of the west end and your townhome.
GET AWAY - Come to the west end of Curacao if you are looking for the relatively 'undiscovered', undeveloped and uncrowded part of the island - where traffic, crowds, and congestion aren't available. What this area does have is beautiful, tranquil beaches, calm, protected seas with fabulous sea life, and a healthy reef system right off shore. Two beautiful national parks are just 5 minutes away from the resort.
The water here is the calmest on the island, crystal-clear, and warm. Our resort has private sea access that is never crowded. There is great snorkeling and diving just steps from your patio door - with 2 full service dive shops very close by. For variety, there are many great shore dive/snorkeling sites and five of Curacao's most pristine, uncrowded beaches within 5 minutes. Their is a sand beach an easy 300 yard swim or walk away. Eight restaurants [including 2 of the island's highest rated] are also less than 5 minutes away.
The resort is gated, private, quiet, uncrowded, and safe - with friendly and helpful on-site managers to assist you. There is secure off street parking, a beautiful pool and tropical landscaping.
The Unique Benefits of this Townhome:
Our new patio doors, and louvered windows and front door are all screened and will maximize the cooling breezes while keeping out the occasional mosquito, colorful geckos and tropical birds.
There are separate air conditioning units for the bedroom and the main level. You'll appreciate the custom blinds, full size refrig, and hot water at the showers and kitchen sink - among many small, added comforts that will make your stay more enjoyable.
You are sure to enjoy the fabulous view of the sea and sunsets from the bedroom and its adjoining deck, along with the bedroom's private bath, air conditioning, and the comfortable, king size bed w/memory foam pad.
You'll make good use of our patio furniture on both decks, the full size Weber grill, the beach chairs, safe, beach towels, portable coolers, and fans - and you'll find that our kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware and utensils. The Wi-Fi connection, Direct TV, new LCD, and DVD player may be valuable if the quiet becomes unbearable.
If there are more than 2 in your party, there are comfortable accomodations on the main level, including another bath complete with shower, and a separate AC unit. You must advise us when booking if there will be more than 2 guests.
Anyone staying here will appreciate our location - wonderfully landscaped with colorful flowers and coconut palms and incredibly convenient to great swimming, snorkeling and diving in crystal clear, calm water. The location of our townhome on the resort is such that no other resort buildings obstruct the views or the sea breezes [which cool the townhome], and we are far enough from the resort's neighbors that we never hear dogs or traffic. The true ocean-front setting - just a few steps from the ocean - offers a totally unobstructed view of the sea and our often breathtaking sunsets. There are games, books, artwork, maps, and many other custom touches that will remind you of home - and that this is a home, and not just a rental..
Marazul is not a catored, room service style resort/hotel - It is a private and quiet sanctuary in one of the island's most beautiful locations - incredibly convenient to its best beaches, best snorkeling/diving, and natural beauty.
Our town home is not a large, luxury villa - It is a comfortable, clean, thoughtfully furnished, and very well equipped, one bedroom, true ocean front town home - in a spectacular location. You will find everything you need here to have a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable island vacation.
We think you'll agree that it's more than a rental - it's a home that you are invited to share. We're very confident that you'll be happy to call it home during your island vacation.
We supply our guests with all of the information they will need in order to know what to expect - on the island, at the resort, and in our town home. This helps them make the best choices possible and insures that they will have their best island vacation.

Gorgeous view and clear water for snorkeling from shore. The rental was perfect for us with the kitchen, two bathrooms and two patios. Everything is clean and maintained. Especially liked the vegetation near the patio for privacy and shade.
Loved the nearby beautiful beaches! Owners very responsive and helpful.

We stayed for 8 nights. Due to flight delays, we arrived very late but the instructions got us there quickly and painlessly and our unit was open and waiting for us. We awoke to the stunning cliff top ocean view and friendly iguanas. The residents and other guests were friendly, the staff as well. All gather daily at sunset to socialize and celebrate another beautiful day. We spent very little time in our room, but we did snorkel off the walls a few times as well as a little pool time. There’s just so much to do on the island, we barely scratched the surface. Adored being in Westpunt, lots to do right around there and not too bad of a drive to the other side of things. We loved the bakery of Centrum and ate most of our meals in with sandwiches packed for our daily activities in the provided cooler. All the necessities to get us started were provided, cookware and spices, even charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. Note there is no true oven which we realized after stupidly overpaying for some American frozen pizzas. There is a toaster oven, stovetop, and microwave. Dipping tanks to disinfect and rinse your snorkel/dive equipment are available by the pool. We saw huge schools of fish, a big green moray eel, and amazing coral in our snorkels off the wall, don’t miss the big patch of brownish anemones between the two stairways. We felt extremely safe everywhere on the island including here. Property is gated, probably more to keep out goats than people, haha! We kept the windows open during the day and a/c’s on at night. We were party of three and just enough space for us. Hot water in the showers and kitchen was fine. We used the community washer (just one) once using a $3 token from the office and hung our clothes to dry on the balcony lines. No issues at all, very laid back basic stay in an absolutely phenomenal location. Thank you Pitts family and Marazul crew!

Perfect resort for us!
This condo was perfect for our family of 4! The photos are a true representation of the property. The location is ideal for the many excursions that we took especially to the area beaches, Sheta Boka park, Christoffel park, and a day trip to the city. No matter where we went we wanted to be back at our condo for one last snorkel and the sunset! The condo was very clean and comfortable. We never ran the AC as we liked the windows open at night. The owners were on site during our visit. They are friendly and full of island knowledge. Linda emailed me very helpful information months before our visit. All advice was spot on. We enjoyed our trip and would absolutely stay in this condo again if we return to the island!

Amazing Views
Definitely gets a 5 out of 5! I think that Curacao and Westpunt offer both a place to relax and do nothing or be active snorkeling & scuba diving. But above it all is the amazing views. Would definitely recommend the Marazul Dive Resort; clean, safe and friendly.

Lovely views and ocean breezes
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in this town home just yards from the ocean. There is a small porch looking out toward a lovely bay with boats. We enjoyed an ocean breeze every day of our stay. There is also a second-floor deck with views of oceans and palms. The place is not fancy, but it is clean, newly painted and well supplied. The owners are very conscientious and provide fantastic and detailed information about the place and the area beaches, restaurants and attractions.
We enjoyed the quiet side of the island, and we loved being able to snorkel right off the wall in front of the property. This was a marvelous place to relax and stay put, but there were also great choices for nearby beaches and activities.

Steve and Linda are very nice, and offered lots of suggestions for us to enjoy the island. Their townhome is exactly as advertised and very clean and comfortable. The resort is quiet and friendly, has wonderful views, and good snorkeling right off the steps into the sea. Linda was kind enough to provide a several page write-up about the island and the condo before our arrival, which was very helpful - including directions from the airport to the best grocery store, and suggestions for the best restaurants. We recommend renting Steve and Linda's townhome without hesitation. Steve and Linda - thanks for renting to us.

Beautiful & Blissful!
Wonderful ocean front location with perfect ocean water and temperature for one of our most relaxing family vacation. Snorkeling, watching fishes run/fly from big Tunas, Dolphins etc and the iguanas with the beautiful blue ocean right in front of us! Confortable and sufficient for our family of four. Nice & friendly neighbors/tourists. Due to no fault of anyone, purely a mother nature issue, the rain brought a lot of mosquitos! They wait by the doors/screens when you open especially dusk, they were hard to get rid of indoor. Mosquito net & coil are necessary. They were a real big nuisance but we did not let them ruin our vacation.

Great place - would stay again!
My wife and I stayed about 6 days in July 2018. Everything was as advertised. Kitchen was well equipped. We bought fish from local fishermen - red snapper, mahi mahi. Cooked most nights. Snorkeling just down steps on property was great. Townhouse is in a nice location, plenty of beaches within easy driving distance. Willemstad is less than an hour away which made for a good day trip one day. We definitely recommend this townhouse and would stay again. Thank you to the owners and the property manager for a great vacation!

Lovely Home and Property
The property is gorgeous with the best sunset view of the Caribbean. The landlord was very attentive and everyone was friendly, social and ready to share stories of their day's adventure.
Our condo was clean and well kept and everything was perfect.
Thank you Steve and Linda

Perfect Honeymoon Destination
My husband and I stayed here for 8 nights for our honeymoon. The Marazul Dive Resort could not have been more perfect.
We specifically were not looking for an all inclusive resort because 1) we knew we wanted to cook our own food and 2) we wanted somewhere slightly remote that would not be overpopulated. After reading a lot of reviews and doing some research, we decided to stay in Westpunt, and specifically at Steve and Linda's place. There was a fully equipped kitchen, two full bathrooms, plenty of space for spreading out, a very comfortable bed, and views to die for. We had dinner every night (with the exception of one night where we dined out) on the second floor balcony overlooking the ocean as the sunset in the distance. It was truly breathtaking. The resort itself is more like a residential community than it is a traditional "resort". The entrance and exit are both gated which we appreciated, the grounds were beautifully maintained, and the house was very clean when we arrived. You have the freedom to prepare your own meals, sit by the pool undisturbed, and maintain your own house (although there is an option for cleaning services). It was exactly what we were looking for.
We had the pleasure of meeting Steve and Linda as they were staying a few doors down from us. They were extremely friendly and in addition to gifting us a bottle of champagne to celebrate being newly married, they provided a lot of helpful tips and insights.
If you're looking for privacy, ocean views, onsite access to great snorkeling and diving, close proximity to beautiful natural beaches and that 'home away from home' feel, this home is for you. We will definitely be back in the future.

Fabulous Experience
We recently spent 15 nights at Marazul unit 8A and could not have asked for anything more. Steve and Linda provided us with everything we needed, and the typed up notes from Linda prior to our trip was so beneficial. We enjoyed the pool every day and most days we were the only ones. Having stair access to the ocean was also a treat for snorkeling and swimming. Cleaning service and fresh linens were provided 1/2 way through our stay which was an added treat. There is air conditioning downstairs as well as in the bedroom, however we found we only needed to use the one in the bedroom at night which was wonderful for a good night sleep. If you are divers like us, we reccommend renting your equipment from Go West Diving which is a short 5 minute drive away. There are a multitude of shore diving locations with fabulous coral. There are plenty of beautiful beaches nearby and we never found them crowded. We took Linda’s advice and made a reservation at Sol Foods for dinner as we arrived in the afternoon on Saturday, and we were so greatful we did. We also had dinner at Trio Penotti and again make a reservation and be sure to order the peanut soup. We would highly recommend renting this unit from Steve and Linda and we are looking forward to coming back.

Very quiet and relaxing vacation!
The accommodations were everything we were hoping for and more! The resort is quaint and laid back and the views from the terrace and deck are breath taking! The town home is steps from the beautiful Caribbean water. There are numerous beautiful beaches nearby. What an amazing place to watch the sunset!

Looking forward to another visit!
Everything about this rental experience was great. Linda and Steve provided us with an abundance of information on the island and the area before our arrival and were also very detailed on what to expect with the unit itself. All of the information was valuable and spot on. We were delighted to find the unit exactly as described upon our arrival and everything was clean and in good working order. The space was perfect for the two of us. We loved waking up in the morning and having tea and coffee on the upper deck outside of our bedroom. We watched fishermen going out each day and on several days a pod of dolphins swam by!
The resort itself is suited well for diving. I do dive but didn't take the opportunity on this trip but we did snorkel each morning and late afternoon since the cliff wall was literally steps away. Some of the best snorkeling we've ever experienced was right there. Just down the road at the harbor is a fantastic spot to swim with turtles and there are lovely beaches within minutes of the home. We made use of the outdoor Weber grill and the cooktop inside. Steve and Linda also have a cooler there that makes it easy to keep items cold when you make the trip to town for groceries.
The owners have a great amount of information on local restaurants and things to see on the island in the home and on the detailed information they sent us before arrival. We took their advice and enjoyed every place we visited! Some that I would highly recommend are Shelterrock and Sol Food. We also walked to a few places nearby and always felt safe.
All in all, this was a great rental experience and we look forward to being return visitors! Thanks Steve and Linda!!!

Beautiful views in a cozy, well equipped duplex in quiet Westpunt
Condo unit has great sea views and sunsets in an immaculate property with pool in Westpunt. Perched on a cliff with water access at both ends of the property and close, in one case within walking distance, of some of the best 10 beaches and snorkelling on the island. It is necessary to have a car to enjoy the west end. Very close to Christoffle and Boka Shete Parks as well as Playa Kalki, Playa Lagun and a handful of recommended restaurants. Condo has charcoal grill, lots of cooking tools, and a wonderful king size bed. We had refrigerator problems upon arrival, a Sunday, but the owner was immediately available by phone and able to resolve the issue. We would definitely return to this rental.

This was everything that it was promised to be. Highly recommended.
We absolutely enjoyed the property. Everything we needed to know was clearly laid-out for us in the literature Steve and Linda sent to us. We had a little SNAFU on arrival but all the info we needed was found in literature (print copies and have in-hand on arrival).
Dinner with Sunshine at Sol Food got us started to a wonderful week. The snorkeling in the water around the property was great. It was great to have direct water access immediately out the back door. Evening cocktails in the gazebo was a daily routine.
We ate breakfast in and had lunch on the beach most days. We made it to 7 different beaches all with great snorkeling. Dinner was at local restaurants, all recommended by Steve and Linda. We especially enjoyed eating at Debbie’ Landhuis Misje.
The view from the balcony and patio we’re fabulous. We never got to try the pool. More to look forward to the next trip.

Tropical Breeze
Marazul Dive resort and this property made for a delightful get away. It had everything we needed to relax and be comfortable. Arrival and departure were easy no hassle. The owners just happened to be next door and were super friendly and helpful. Steve brought us over Lionfish he had caught and Linda had cooked. It was exceptionally good! We spent most nights staying in and cooking. Our days were spent snorkeling and hiking around the parks and beaches which were very near. If you like beautiful beaches then Westpunt is your best location.
This property is well maintained and safe. The owners are nice folks who you can feel good renting from. Everything was as described. It was plenty of room for two. There are ample places for outside sitting and dinning. The bed was super comfortable and the fans, aircon and natural breezes kept us cool. The kitchen is well stocked with spices pots and pans etc.
We would stay here again. Don't hesitate to book.
Thankyou

Wonderful 2 weeks in Curacao!
We loved our stay at Linda's place. The accommodations were comfortable and just as advertised. The grounds of the property are nice and the kids loved greeting their "pet" iguanas every morning. The colorful troupials and other birds were also a hit with the kids. Each time we went to jump in the ocean we had it all to ourselves! Rene, the property manager, was very helpful in making sure we were good and had what we needed. Linda was great to work with and provided us with every bit of information we needed. Be sure to dine at Sol Food, their pizza and hospitality are great! Also, a once in a lifetime opportunity exists just a few minutes down the road at Playa Grandi. You can swim with about a dozen wild sea turtles all round you! It was amazing! If you can muster the courage be sure to jump off the cliff at Playa Forti, a quick walk from Marazul, it is a rush!

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful weeks in Unit 7A at Marazul Dive Resort. We quickly settled into our vacation home which was located in a well maintained, beautifully landscaped gated community. Rene, the property manager, was very attentive, checking every morning to make sure that there wasn't anything that we needed.
The unit was very clean and contained everything that we needed for a great stay. Linda, the owner, sent us a detailed information package before our trip which helped us locate grocery stores, restaurants and various beaches and points of interest. Marazul Dive Resort is very close to numerous restaurants and beaches and an easy drive to Willemstad.
I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a quiet, restful vacation home on a beautiful island.

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Pitt’s condo in Marazul, Westpunt, Curacao. The owners have made sure that the accommodations are very comfortable and well equipped. We found everything we needed and more! It was great being able to barbecue and cook our own meals. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The resort itself is located right by a great snorkelling area where we saw many types of fish. The cooling winds are fantastic as well as the beautiful sunsets. We had fun exploring the island and enjoying Sunshine’s Sol Food Restaurant. We highly recommend this accommodation.

We returned last month from a wonderful few weeks spent in Steve and Linda's townhouse, in Marazul Dive Resort. I awakened every morning to the song of the Venezuelan Troupial and opened my eyes to look straight out over the sea and watch the fishing boats going out for the day. Paradise indeed!
If you are looking for nightlife, shopping, activities for the kids, etc. stay in,or near, Willemstad. But if you want peace and quiet, a sleepy fishing village (with several restaurants in it) and fantastic diving and snorkelling right there, as well as many beaches close by to choose from, go to Westpunt. And Marazul is the place to stay....a very well kept, attractively landscaped, friendly, safe, gated community on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with steps down to the sea so you are in the water two minutes after leaving your front door. There is a lovely pool too with plenty of chairs to lounge on and a large gazebo for shade. The friendly manager, René, comes by your house every morning to make sure everything is OK and is always available for help, advice and directions.
We have stayed at Steve and Linda's place five times now. It has a very good location within Marazul - close to, but not right next to, the pool; in the centre of the property so far from any barking local dogs and, as mentioned, right on the ocean front with a view of the sea from every room.( OK, except the downstairs bathroom!).
After many trips to nice, but poorly equipped, properties we were delighted to find a place that has everything we could possibly need. All windows and doors have screens to keep out the occasional pesky mosquito (it's a very windy area so mosquitoes are not a big problem) Both showers and the kitchen sink have hot water which is unusual and very nice to have. The kitchen is very well equipped and as a plus, the knives are sharp and there is a set of spices too! There is even a large cooler for your grocery trips to Willemstad - or to take to the beach if you want a picnic lunch. There are also collapsible chairs to take to the beaches and the upstairs terrace has two Adirondack chairs perfect for reading in. The house is attractive, colourful and comfortable. The best of all, for me, is the memory-foam covered king sized bed which is as comfortable as our one at home and how often can you say that?!! (The downstairs futon makes a comfortable bed too)
Steve and Linda are very friendly and helpful and provide lots of useful written information.

I don't do "reviews". I just don't. But after staying at Steve and Linda's oceanfront condo I couldn't not. I just had to. My wife and I celebrated our 36th anniversary on Curaçao. What made it perfect for us was finding Steve and Linda's resort on the western end of the island. Condo 7A is clean, comfortable, and convenient to all things scenic and adventuresome. Swimming, snorkeling, diving, and great beaches are all within minutes of 7A. Some literally within a 60 second walk. Others within a 5-7 minute drive. You can venture farther, which we did and will on our return trips, but there is little need to. Pick up your groceries on your drive from the airport to the resort and plan to relax on their terrace or lower patio between adventures. Everything about your place was perfect. Thank you Steve and Linda.

This was our second trip to Marazul, and an even better experience this time staying in Apartment 8A! We love the location, off the beaten track and away from the big city. Quiet, a great place to relax and dive. Steve and Linda have done a wonderful job, everything you need is there. If you are lucky enough to be there when they are, you will discover they are very gracious hosts and will make sure you have everything you need. They will send you packets of info with everything you need to know about the island, car rentals, where the best grocery stores are, etc. We've found their info is spot on, no problems. The car rental service was great, it was so nice to have the cell phone when we needed to check in at home. We would advise getting the GPS if it is your first time on the island. The Manager, Renee, was also very nice, checked in with us almost every day to see how our stay was.
The condo is beautiful, very comfortable, can't beat the view of a sunset every night off your patio. With a nice tropical breeze, we didn't even need the AC, just the fans were enough to keep us comfortable. Wifi worked great. There was a nice big screen TV with Direct TV, but you'd have to ask my husband how it was, I was too busy watching the view! The grill was an added bonus, so nice to be able to cook out while enjoying the sunset.
The diving is great, you can gear up right at the condo and walk to the steps, the ocean is right there. Amazing coral, huge schools of fish, turtles, many eels. Never a bad dive. Saw something new each dive. We enjoyed finishing our dives near the ladder, so much to see on the way out! Dunk tank right by the pool to soak your gear when you are done, as well as shower. Pool is gorgeous, very clean, lots of lounge chairs, shade if you prefer.
Oceans West for diving is just a 5 minute drive for tanks/weights and also a beautiful reef to dive, and a restaurant for a cold drink or meal after.
Marazul is minutes from many white sand beaches with good snorkeling and diving. Fun places to eat with great food. We went mostly for the diving, but did spend some time at Shete Boka National Park. Beautiful view of the other side of the island and the big waves crashing into the cliffs.
We had a great time, and look forward to returning, hopefully very soon! Thanks Steve and Linda for making this a wonderful trip!

We got lucky when we rented this townhouse at Marazul. The location within the resort couldn't be better and the owners have done everything possible to make this unit welcoming and comfortable for renters. Thanks!

This was our second vacation at Marazul, our first stay in 7A. Steve and Linda were terrific with sending all the information we needed before we came. It just so happened that they were there the same time we were. It was awesome to meet them both and be the recipients of their hospitality. Their knowledge of the island and species of fish we saw while snorkeling were extremely helpful. We had fun sharing stories of our daily adventures.
This trip we saw more species of fish then our previous trip. The snorkeling was absolutely awesome. At Playa Forti we swam with 2 turtles. We returned there a number of times in our 2 week stay and each time the turtles were there and we even got to touch them! Another great snorkeling location was Playa Kalki where we saw numerous eel and got great pictures and videos of octopus. Lots of pictures were taken and when we were going thru them upon returning home, we realized one fish we had a picture of was a baracuda! This trip we also saw squid which we never have seen before. Each beach you go to offers something different and no two days are the same. We are in awe of what lies beneath the surface of the ocean.
The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed the evenings with a glass of wine sitting and waiting for the green flash as the sun sank. Yes, there is a green flash!
We had everything we needed in 7A. It was our home away from home. We love Marazul for the quietness, and the feeling it gives of home. When you return from your adventures at the end of the day, it's nice to sit in the quietness on your deck and just relax. We have seen other resorts on the island, and nothing compares to Marazul.
There is lots to do on the island. You have a choice of how busy you want to be. We highly recommend D&D for renting your car. Daniel is awesome.
We are planning on returning again to Marazul. We again will plan to stay in 7A. Thank you Steve and Linda!!

Below is an email we sent the owners upon our return. We feel it appropriately depicts our satisfaction! Big tips for renting from this lovely couple: 1. Read the instructions/suggestions they send you. They were VERY helpful and informative and helped us really get the most out of the island and stay safe while doing so! 2. Verify the gate code soon before getting there as it sounds like it changes often, if the code doesn't work make sure to follow the instructions they give you.
"OH MY, what a gorgeous slice of heaven. From as soon as we got in that gate until we left, we felt such a sense of ease, calm and beauty. We LOVED Westpunt. What a beautiful little town. I'm afraid for it to become too built up!!!
The grounds at Marazul were immaculate, which was a pleasant add-on surprise. The town-home was exactly what you described/advertised. The position of your two places were just so perfect compared to others. All appliances worked perfectly, and it was so nice to have a loaded kitchen. Rene (property manager) was extremely pleasant and recommended a few other things to do as well, which worked out perfectly (i.e. Snorkeling with the turtles at Watamula and dinner at Trio Penotti, holy crap, great... affordable food!!!).
We really struggled to identify any constructive feedback, and all we could come up with was the passcode being changed, but your instructions on how to handle the problem was perfect!! ... and the slider door was tough to lock (took some wiggling). Beyond that everything was perfect!!!
Thank you very much for all of the useful information you sent us. I kept telling my wife that your info alone was worth the cost of staying there! We met up with Sunshine and had a fantastic dinner at Sol Foo, then actually bumped in to her at Trio Penotti two nights later. What a sweet, special person... We were so envious of her lifestyle! We also determined that she is from the next town over from where we live. Small world!!
With your and Sunshine's advice we:
-Climbed Chistoffel.... So sweaty but amazing!!!
-Went to Shete boca.... Beautiful and unique!
-and found some of the most beautiful beaches and snorkeling we've every experienced... especially liked Playa Lagun, Knip Klein, and snorkeling at the blueroom.
I would recommend your townhome and Marazul to anyone... Especially those willing to do a little exploring on their vacation, which this location and island lends to perfectly.

My husband and I spent a week at one of Linda and Steve's townhomes, and it was everything we were hoping for and more. The townhouse itself was more than comfortable...but we found we were in it very little. The little patio is exquisite for nightly sunsets, coffee and breakfast in the mornings and quiet drinks after dinner. It became a toss up as to what patio we should sit at...because in this wonderful townhouse, you get the choice of two of them. The upstairs patio also has a great drying rack for all of your wet items.
We went to the local market by the airport for groceries when we got in and had everything we needed to have breakfasts and lunches at the villa. There are an abundance of beaches for great snorkelling and diving but some of hte best was right outside our location. The townhouses are on a cliff that looks down into the water which you access from stairs and ladders which I did not find difficult to maneuver around. The cliffs have an abundance of sea life and if you follow the cliffs to the fishing boats, you will see turtles, eels and a ton of various fish. If you are a good swimmer, in decent shape and like to snorkel, it is some great snorkelling and fun. The water is the clearest I have seen in the Caribbean and was just the right temperature.
The pool at Marazul is not huge but it was such a great relief from the sun and you wanted to get away from the salt water and just want to relax. We met several wonderful people while there and were going out for dinner with people from all over the world by the time we left. It was such fun.
As for Westpunt, it will appear as though you are going into the boonies and seriously made a mistake when booking so far away but before you know it, you will find Westpunt and see why it is such a great secret. We ate at Landhuis Misje, Sol Food, Karakter Restaurant and Rancho El Sobrino and they were all awesome but the first three were our favorites. You will need a GPS to get to Karakter as it is a bit hard to find but if you go early, a drink at sunset is quite special.
Williamstad is worth going to for the day but you will love that you get to come back to Westpunt. Linda and Steve are the best hosts around and we had the pleasure of spending an evening at Karakter with them and they are as wonderful in person. You will not regret renting from them and you will know all you need to to have a fantastic time in Curacao. We also felt very safe at Marazul.

My wife and I were there for a week. She likes the beach and I like to snorkel so we were both happy. We went to 12 different beaches during our stay and they range from small deserted pocket beaches to full-service beaches with lounge chairs etc.the property is located on the far North West corner of the island which is quite undeveloped. There is a great restaurant there run by ex-patss called sol foodsbut unfortunately it is only open from Friday through Sunday. The property description is accurate and the property is very well maintained. It's a great place to stay for a beach vacation. We were lucky enough to be there when Steve and Linda were there in their other unit. They were a great source of information and great tips about how to see the island attractions and they are delightful people. I would recommend this property to people who do not want to be in the big city and prefer a more remote location. Curacao is an interesting place and worthy of another visit. Chris key.

My wife and I have been back home now for a few weeks and have had time to process our experience in Curacao. Let me summarize our experience:
Steve and Linda were the perfect hosts and with the detailed information they provided in advance we felt quite prepared for our trip.
Steve and Linda’s townhouse we found well-located, very comfortable and well-stocked. We slept very well in the king-size bed. We never used the downstairs AC,. That was not needed with the windows and doors open providing a delightful blow-through breeze.
MDR we found very comfortable and peaceful, and safe. People in general were very friendly. The 2 German office guys were helpful,
We visited all local beaches and found playa Cas Abou the best and Grote Knip (Playa Abou) the next best. We did a limited amount of snorkeling and we need to do more of that next time. The area of Westpunt we really enjoyed for is country-like feeling.
Two suggestions: GPS is an absolute “must have“, as we were told when you rent a car. . No question. We did a swim with the dolphins and my wife and I loved that!
The best recommendation: We will return early next year and we have already booked our next

We rented this unit for 3 weeks and enjoyed every day of our stay. Our experience was so restful and the views spectacular. The owners were very helpful in making our stay comfortable. My husband is a snorkler, so he found the area very beautiful for this sport. I loved the pool area with the view of the carribean. The unit was so well decorated and stocked with all that we needed to cook and relax. The screened in windows were so nice as the breezes flowed through without the bugs with it. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this area to all ages. All that was listed on the owner's explanation of the unit and surroundings was correct, and we would definitely go back.

This was our first visit to Curacao and it surpassed our expectations. Marazul Dive Resort is the perfect place to stay on the island. There is peace and beauty abound. Linda and Steve's place offers everything you need to have an enjoyable vacation. Their comfortable bed was nice for sleeping and their kitchen is well stocked with everything you would need to make a nice meal. One night we grilled fresh fish on the grill they provide and made margaritas using the blender. Many nights we would listen to our favorite island music, Jimmy Buffett, while watching the beautiful sunset from their porch. They have a place by their porch where they feed the birds. It was fun seeing all the different birds come to the feeder. There are many gorgeous beaches to explore minutes away from Marazul. Our two favorites were Cas Abou and Playa Knip. The water is crystal clear and great for snorkeling. It was a fabulous vacation!! Thanks Linda and Steve!!

The condo and area are very much as described by the owners and others that have reviewed the property. The condo is well maintained and very peaceful. The snorkeling and diving are fantastic right from the resort. We very much enjoyed our stay.

We couldn't wait to get there and when we did it exceeded our expectations. Talk about peace and serenity, this island jewel is for anyone wishing to escape daily routines and the hustle bustle of life. When we arrived we fell in love with the Resort. Even though Maruzel is in a rural area, distance to fine resturants and world class beaches is 5 to 20 minutes away from this location. Even grocery stores were within driving distance. We found a bakery in Barber on a side road which was wonderful and provided fresh baked goods daily. Sol Food became a part of our weekend eating habits. Sunshine and Dave along with "the boys" who served us made our dining experience fun and enjoyable. They make a fantastic pizza, and we are from NY. Located next door to us you could go down and see the local" catch of the day" to purchase.
We were impressed with all of the modern appliances and aminities, as well as the upkeep of the unit. We were lucky to get to meet Steve and Linda during our stay. We are looking forward to going back next year!

Quiet, Relaxing and Comfortable
We arrived on the evening flight and it was dark when we got out of customs. Steve and Linda's car rental guy was right there to give us the car and a cell phone - and we were off. They had given us a ton of information before we left the states - including great directions, so we had no trouble getting to the resort. The resort and townhome were just as described - cozy, clean and comfortable with great views of the Caribbean just a few feet away. There wasn't much that we needed or wished we had that wasn't there......maybe a real oven - but we made do with the toaster oven. The bed was great and we didn't even need the air conditioning after the first night, just used the fans the few times the breezes slowed down. We had great food at Sol Food, Misjes, and Karakters. This is a very and slow quiet part of the island, but we knew that and this was exactly what we were looking for. Very, very different from the bustle of Willemstad and the area around the city. A great choice for nature lovers, divers and snorkelers. The owners were very helpful from the beginning – sending us lots of information about the island and their townhome and answering all of our questions. They obviously care about their place and their guests. We are definitely planning to schedule another stay at this gem of a island location.

My husband and I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Marazul and have already booked our next trip there. You awaken to the melodious song of the Mockingbirds, you open your eyes ( in a very comfortable bed) and see the ocean sparkling in front of you; after a day in the warm sea investigating the prolific underwater life you sit with a rum punch in your hand on your own terrace and watch the sunset -- if this is not luxury, what is?!
If you want crowds, music, nightlife - go to a resort near Willemstad; if you want tranquility, nature, local Caribbean life and amazing swimming, snorkeling and diving - go to Westpunt; if you want a beautifully located, well-maintained, friendly place in Westpunt- go to Marazul and if you want a townhouse that is perfectly equipped, go to Steve and Linda's. We have rented nice places all over the Caribbean but this was the only place that had all the little extras that we always take with us ( and didn't need to unpack) -beach towels, a good knife, ziplocs, spices, cord and clothes pins, cards, board games, etc. and even some more such as beach chairs. There is a lot of info there about the island and Steve and Linda answered any questions I had beforehand very promptly.
All over the Caribbean there are small ants (that I know as sugar ants). I have found the best way to avoid them becoming a problem is to keep all opened food in the fridge, wipe down all sticky counter and table tops immediately and leave no dirty dishes in the sink. The lizards and birds visited our terrace daily too and were most welcome. We also saw a brown rabbit outside our townhouse and a deer on the road leaving Westpunt - hardly my idea of tropical animals!
It was "rainy" season when we were there but we only had one day of full rain and the rest of the time a shower a day and lots of sun too. In the heat the rain cools you nicely and can be quite welcome! Compared to other islands, it's a great place to go in November.
We are eager to go back and stay longer!

My husband and I spent 10 glorious days relaxing, eating and drinking, snorkeling (not in that particular order). Everything we needed for a restful and peaceful vacation rental. The condo was equiped with all we needed to cook some wonderful dinners. The location of our rental was perfect - no traffic noise - no telephone - just quiet. The grounds were well maintained and the managers were avaliable when needed and the most pleasant couple. What a view! Steps away to the most incredible snorkeling ever! Truly magical! The location of Marazul Diving Resort was so convinient. Short drives to the other outstanding beaches for snorkeling and about a 30-minute
drive to Willemsted. We plan to spend more time in Curacao in the future and hope this location will
be our "home away from home."
