About this farm stay rental
This old farmhouse was a diamond in the rough when we first bought it in January 2016. After 10 months of renovations we opened in November 2016 and are constantly making improvements based on customer feedback to create the best vacation for our guests. The newest addition being another covered patio off the back side of the detached garage.
It's almost a completely new house with all the old character that made us fall in love with the property including the original windows, doors, trim work, chimney and refinished wood floors that bring warmth and charm to every room. On the structural side the main living area has been completely opened for a true open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space perfect for any large gathering complete with a beautiful wood covered vaulted ceiling. The home's foundation, electrical, plumbing, and AC system have also been completely updated making it efficient and reliable for your wine country getaway.
There are three bedrooms in the main house. The master bedroom has a queen bed and Tempurpedic daybed/trundle with its own private bathroom featuring a double vanity and refinished cast iron tub. The other two bedrooms each have a king bed and share the main bathroom which also has a double vanity. A renovated 1931 clawfoot tub/shower combo completes the main bath with historical charm and elegance.
The living room has a brand new couch with queen sized pull-out bed and Termpurpedic memory foam mattress. Each bed is complete with 4 pillows, 800 thread count sheets, down alternative comforter, and Laura Ashley quilt to keep you cozy during the cool hill country nights.
Outside you'll find several different areas to relax or play on this one acre oasis complete with multiple dining tables, dual grill for propane or charcoal cooking, and fire pit. There is plenty of yard space to play games or watch the birds and deer that pass through the yard to eat along the creek edge every morning and evening. Hence the name of our property, Hirschbach Haus, which means Deer Creek in German. A nod to the history and culture of this adorable little tourist town.
The house is 1 mile away from Main Street where most of the local shops and restaurants are located. It's a 15-20 minute walk or just a couple minutes in the car. Come and enjoy an escape to the hill country in this lovely renovated farmhouse. We promise you won't be disappointed!

Hirschbach Haus was everything we wanted for our friends and family bi-annual reunion. We found a cozy rustic farmhouse that has been lovingly up-dated without removing any of the original charm. Big king-size beds with wonderful linens. More towels in the bathrooms than we could use. Someone had fun with a labeling gun as almost everything was labeled. This made everything easy to find and operate. Tons of silverware, plates and glasses. There was even a Canadian coffee cup that was used daily by our Canadian friend.
Big backyard with lots of space for corn hole and plenty of outside seating. The pictures on the listing do not do it justice.
The property is at the end of a cul-d-sac. I know other reviews commented on the neighborhood. We found it to be safe and incredibly quite. Yes, it is a street with double-wide trailers as homes. Not everyone can afford to live in a the nicer homes in town.
Best neighbor was the black goat that was tied up to a tree around the corner from the house. Everyday the owner would put it out where it could be social with anybody that came by. Defiantly a fan favorite.

Our stay was perfect. This home doesn’t lack for anything! Better than its description. Beds were comfy, the owners go above and beyond making certain you have all you need. One mile from Main Street, convenient to everything! Saw deer on the property and enjoyed our fire pit. Celebrated my birthday and the owners even left me a bottle of wine! Very private on a dead end, and on one lovely acre. Comfortable living area for my family, and plenty of dining space too! I will definitely book here again, no doubt! Thank you both so much for your hospitality! Also, we enjoyed the photo album with the “before” pictures. You guys did an amazing job on the remodel!

This house a diamond. We booked this house for a girls trip, 7 women, slept great, loved the aesthetic and the ambiance! We slept great. Beds are comfortable, layout of the house is perfect for a large group and then hosts were on top of it. Definitely recommend and would go back!

This is my family’s third time to stay here. The location is close to Main St, but just far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of the property. The beds are super comfortable.

Excellent house, sketchy neighborhood
The house and property are great, but the area is a little sketchy. The neighborhood is run down, but conveniently located to Fredericksburg and the surrounding area. The house was very clean, and we had a wonderful time.

We loved the house. The location was a quick drive to Main Street. I was traveling with my sister, mom, and aunt and we enjoyed the stay. We loved watching the deer in the evening!

Family 70th birthday
8 women from the ages of 84 to 42 enjoyed the house for a 70th birthday celebration. The house was clean and had everything we needed! The body wash and soaps felt like you were in a spa!! We enjoyed the big yard with visits from deer and a beautiful night at the fire pit. We would recommend as it was perfect to hang out or close to downtown and wineries. As you drive down the street to get to the house don't let the neighborhood worry you, as soon as you turn into the driveway you have entered a little oasis with updates and cute character in the cozy place!! Thank you for all the updates and care you have put into your place!

Cutest house
9 ladies stayed here for girls weekend and we were all comfortable and happy. Host over provided with organic coffee, all natural products in the bathrooms, bottle of wine at arrival, plenty of towels and comfortable beds and pillows! I can’t write out all the extras we received. It felt like it was exactly what I would have done if I was hosting and trying to make my best friend comfortable! Our weather wasn’t the best so we didn’t get to utilize the huge backyard and outdoor seating as much as I wished we could have but there are several tables and a fire pit that are cool too!

Exceptional host!
Where do I begin, the house was so open and inviting, the bedrooms and bathrooms were roomy. The backyard is so private and we had a buck and doe visit us too. Chelsea was so sweet and prompt with questions. She even sent us a Jenga game. She really goes above and beyond with her care for her VRBO.

Just what we needed.....
My husband has been working at home since the pandemic. I wanted to give him a change of scenery and this home was perfect! It is so beautiful inside and so peaceful inside. We watched the abundance of deer during the day and the lightning bugs at night. The bed was comfortable and the cleanliness was amazing! If we ever come back to Fredericksburg, we will definitely stay here again! Just perfect!

Great Girls Weekend
We had a Great Stay for a Girls Weekend of 8 of us. Plenty of room for all of us and the house is very cute and very clean. It's also not far from main street. It worked out well for our group and I would recommend it.

Great Place!
Stayed there for a sister's weekend and the place was perfect. It was very well stocked. It was right on the edge of town, so we really enjoyed the privacy, but also close enough for us to walk to main street. We will be back.

Beautifully redone home close to downtown
Me and 9 of my girlfriends went here for a girls weekend and had the best time! The house was absolutely lovely-the remodel they did still left some of the charm of the original farmhouse. On top of that it was immaculately kept and so clean. There was more than enough room for 10 people comfortably and the house had everything you could possibly need. Chelsea was so easy to work with and replied back to my questions quickly and thoroughly. All of that to say-I would recommend this place to anyone and come back here in heartbeat!

Nice, quaint home
The home was very nice...well kept, clean, and had everything we needed. The only thing I would have to say is it's not in a very good neighborhood which is hard to know until you get there...but it is close to Main Street so you can easily get to the things you want to do.

Charming
We stayed here for a wedding we were attending in Stonewall. It was a little further than expected for that stay, but it was close (not walking distance) to Main Street in Fredericksburg for those looking for something just off of Main Street. Plenty of room for our large family to stay. Several staples included (pantry items and toiletry items) which was a plus. A/C was not working when we got there, but the property owners addressed within an hour and provided a credit for the hassle. Our family loved the house!

Girls Wine Trip
Our wine club stayed at the Hirschbach Haus the weekend of April 1st. There were 8 of us and it was very comfortable. The house was very well-stocked with all supplies. It is beautiful inside and has lots of updates. We were very close to Main Street for shopping and eating out and not far from the 290 Wineries. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to others. Can't wait to come back.

Property Review
I think the home is lovely and has cute, Texas charm. I will say the location of the property is not in the best part of Fredricksburg. Would have liked to be closer to Main St.

Great girls weekend!
We had 7 of us staying for the weekend and it was very nice! The kitchen was well-stocked for a large group, the beds were all very comfortable and had nice bedding and linens, and it was an easy drive to anywhere. We had rainy weather so were disappointed we did not get to enjoy the firepit, but loved the deer every morning and evening and even the rooster wake-up call in the mornings! The only thing missing was a large soup pot!

Great place to stay in Fredericksburg!
We had five couples from the Dallas area at the Hirschbach Haus for the weekend. There was plenty of room for our group and we all commented about how nice the house was. From the large kitchen area to the bathrooms, the house has been beautifully updated and we had all the comforts of home.
We enjoyed the fire pit and outside grill. We also saw plenty of deer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.
Chelsea was very accommodating and responsive.

Thanksgiving at the farmhouse
The remodel of this 1936 farmhouse is very well done. There are a few things still in progress but based upon the work completed we have no doubt the final finish out will be top notch. Linens and towels are high quality so you feel very pampered. The kitchen is well stocked, the applicants are top of the line and beautiful. The fire pit and outdoor grill are perfect for outside fun. Deer are frequent in the early morning and at dusk. It is an easy drive to downtown and we enjoyed our stay!

Adorable Farmhouse
My friends and I stayed here for a weekend getaway and it could not have been more perfect. We fit 10 people in this house comfortably including using a pullout. The kitchen is very open and spacious, which made cooking for a large group easy and fun. It's a very roomy property with a great outdoor patio and fire pit where you can enjoy a couple of s'mores. It's in a corner lot too, so it's perfect when gathering outside as you do not need to worry about disrupting neighbors or being too loud.
Chelsea was easy to contact and get in touch with if we had any questions or concerns, we really enjoyed staying at this home. I would definitely recommend this property to others and will definitely be coming back with a group. Thanks to our gracious hosts for letting us stay and enjoy this home for the weekend!

What an awesome retreat!
We just returned from visiting the Hirschbach Haus for the weekend and it was the perfect family getaway! The house is newly remodeled (and is so cute) and is fresh and clean with everything you need to make yourself at home. The owners have taken great lengths to make your stay very comfortable, the beds were especially nice. The house sits on a large lot, so you have plenty of privacy. There is a fire pit on the side of the house which was great, they provided firewood and we made S'mores each night! It's also very close to town, so you have the best of both worlds with shops and restaurants close by. We had the privilege of being the first guest and they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us! We will definitely revisit the Hirschbach Haus again next time in Fredericksburg!
