About this house rental

Summary:
Be enchanted by this charming restored retreat with original details in the wood floors, doors, and trim. (We were inspired to take on our own fixer upper after we moved into our home featured in season 5 episode 1 of Fixer Upper on HGTV - the one with the moon door!) This bungalow was originally built in the 1930’s so has great character. Decorated with teal accent walls, open shelving in the country-kitchen, and mid-century furnishings, making this home comfortable yet stylish. Only 2 miles from Magnolia Silos and within walking distance of several coffee shops and cafes.

We arrived at the property to meet a friend that was staying with us. When I saw the property, I was very disappointed. The house did not look like the pictures inside and out. The stairs were beginning to rot and the porch was dirty. The cleaners were there, and we had planned to return after they finished, but when we looked inside, it was a no for us. The couch was nasty looking. I have stayed in many VRBO properties around the country, and this is the first time I was totally disappointed. We had to scurry to find a hotel room, so we didnt properly make contact with the manager. I have been in contact with her to resolve this issue, but WE DID NOT EVEN STAY THERE. I suggested to the manager that she should have the property inspected and cleaned and repaired before renting it again.

The property was as pictured. There was ease of communication with the property manager and the check in process was seamless. The parking was tricky because of the very narrow driveway but luckily the owner of the business next door allowed us to park in his lot, as long as we parked next to the wall. The road noise was only a minimal issues and was drowned out by the AC units.

This is a cool house, very spacious, a lot of character and well appointed. Our only issue is there is a noticeable amount of road noise as there is a fairly busy road out front. It is not terrible, but it is a factor. However, the hosts were very communicative and great to work with!

This little gem of a cottage is handy to Magnolia, shopping & restaurants. The home is clean, bright and appointed as indicated in listing. We would stay here if back in town.
