I needed a place that was quiet and comfortable, and this was marvelous. Lindsay is a terrific host, easy to communicate with. The property is fully equipped with everything you need - - good sharp knives, plenty of cooking utensils, beautiful glassware, spices for cooking, icemaker in the freezer. And SO many places to just sit and write, write or chill. The covered porch was my favorite spot. It won't matter what time of year you come, this house is perfect.

Beautiful place, roomy kitchen, nice yard, less than a mile to main street. Foilage was perfect. Great weather - cold but no rain. close to everything, restaurants, grocery store, etc. Met Ben the bear who was out looking for food - make sure to lock your garbage can and take your dog for a week in dailight.

Really enjoyed this property for our visit the Highlands. House was comfortable and plenty of room for 2 couples and 2 dogs. Location is a only 5 minutes from downtown and the communication from the host was fantastic. We would absolutely book this home again for a future trip. Thanks!

Stayed 2 weeks in this very lovely mirror lake(Highlands) neighborhood. Host of as teffific in every way. The cottage is true to the pictures on VRBO. Great neighborhood to take your early morning walk. Close to town walk or a 5 min ride. We will definitely come back.

Our stay at Broadleaf Cottage was just perfect. An ancient hemlock tree stands watch just beyond the back deck. The cottage is perfectly situated between Mirror Lake & downtown Highlands. We ride bikes & walked every day. The sound of the creek across the side street provides the perfect white noise to help you settle in to a slower pace. The numerous seating areas inside & out provided us & our teenage daughter with the perfect places to have our own spaces when we needed them. Lindsay was fantastic to deal with. We’re already looking at when we can return to Broadleaf Cottage later this year & into next.

We loved our weeklong stay at Broadleaf Cottage. It is even better than the pictures - lots of living space, well-furnished kitchen and great outdoor areas (including deck & grill, screened porch and fire pit in yard). We especially enjoyed the neighborhood for walking, as well as its proximity to downtown Highlands. Would return in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our weekend getaway in The Highlands, NC. The house was exactly as pictured and the perfect size for four people. Very cute and comfortable home and had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend for 4 ppl comfortably but could accommodate 6. Great location. Clean. Easy to communicate. Went in December and wood burning fire place was perfect! Would also be great to use in other seasons and .5mi to walk to downtown. No complaints.

Great property! Super cute with exposed beams and a fireplace. Was great for our family trip with young kids. Home was walkable you Main Street which is a must for us. Also walkable to some cute small trails with a nice creek. The owner is extremely responsive. House is well equipped for what we needed. Even enjoyed s’mores by the fireside. Will be back!!

What a great property. Attractive, lots of sitting areas inside and out. Outside has several unscreened areas, and a great screened in porch all totally secluded. Inside has two nice bedrooms, very well appointed kitchen, comfortable den, and a living room with a wood burning fireplace. The house is VERY clean and not worn at all. Lindsay is terrific to deal with, responsive, flexible and helpful. Location is outstanding . Secluded, but 1/2 mile to town. So easy to run in for anything you need. Will be back!!

This property exceeded expectations. There were two living areas and the screen porch so we could spread out. It was extremely clean and well outfitted. Plenty of hot water and excellent wifi. The location is great - literally walk into Highlands as we did every morning for breakfast or walk around the Mirror Lake neighborhood. The neighbors were very friendly. We had a dog so we were out walking several times a day and got to know several of them. Lindsay, the owner, was great to work with. Clear and timely communication. Easy to get hold of. No problems. We would stay here again

Wonderful location in Highlands

Wonderful vacation spot in Highlands. Walking to downtown was easy and helpful neighbors directed the way. Fireplace was specially nice. Sounds of wood crackling and cozy room promoted relaxation. Every amenity was available. Kitchen well stocked with every utensil needed. Great water pressure in house with ample sized bathrooms. Screen porch would be a dream napping location with the right weather. Cafe lights on deck were a special touch. Lindsay was so easy to contact and handled request for wood to be delivered and return my wife’s pillow when we left it. Highly recommend this location.
