Exceptional

Beautiful room with a huge comfy bed. Very clean. All the amenities- Fridge, kettl, hair dryer. Very quiet air con which was great as hot nights. Beautiful balcony with Seaview and Mountain views. Lovely breakfast included and amazing staff. Spanish and UK TV and radio. Even though very hot weather the hotel provided lovely shaded spots to escape the heat. I have also eaten dinner here prior to staying, which is highly recommended. Oh and amazing cocktails 🍸

It couldn't have been more relaxing.

A boutique hostal with an amazing view from every room, cracking breakfast and lovely staff - what's not to like!

The only thing to note is it's a short journey into Nerja town, so if you want somewhere that you can wander round round for tapas and beer and back then it's a taxi/bus.

just go and enjoy whats on offer

food, very generous portions.must mention their own baked bread,tasty. views from your spacious room overlook nerja and sierras mountains, down to the sea ,which is on your doorstep.you are really made very welcome by all the staff . thank you alix and kevin for a really enjoyable 2 week stay.

Nice spacious room with huge bed, sofa and tv with satellite channels and large luxurious bathroom with walk-in shower. From the adjoining private terrace/balcony there was a great panoramic view of Nerja, the beach and surrounding mountains. There were also alternative communal seating areas more sheltered from the sun/wind that I might have used had I stayed longer. There were lots of options for breakfast which filled me up for the day. Dinner on arrival was probably the best food I had while in Spain.

The hostal is situated about a 30 minute walk from the main town of Nerja, so you have to decide whether to walk or drive or take a cab to get there and back. I enjoyed the walk, but it would have become tiresome had I stayed longer.

We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

The restaurant in the hotel is very good and there is something for everyone on the menu. Drinks are reasonably priced. All the rooms have a balcony with a view of the sea. Breakfast has a good choice and is very well cooked.

There is a bit of noise from the coast road during the day but with the windows closed at night it's not a problem.

excellent value, personal service and wonderful amenities

we loved everything about this little hotel. our hosts were warm and welcoming, the decor is beautiful, the room was very clean and had everything you needed including tea and coffee facilities. the big bed was superbly comfortable and the view from our balcony was of the mountains and sea. with parking outside and a lovely restaurant downstairs we couldn’t have found better. we had a fantastic meal and a fabulous choice of breakfast the next day. I can’t recommend the Avalon highly enough and it was excellent value for money. thank you Alix and Kevin

Great value, great stay. Thoroughly recommended!

we booked with a couple of friends, and we were all very impressed indeed by the Avalon. The staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms were sizeable and clean, with excellent facilities, and comfortable beds. Lovely shower. Great views from the terrace, and a lovely sun roof. The breakfast was fantastic.

Fab hotel with lovely, friendly atmosphere and gorgeous food. Perfect location for beach/bus stop.

Super comfy bed, lovely shower and fabulous breakfast. Air conditioning was wonderful. Literally 3 minutes walk from beach. Small fridge in bedroom with fresh milk for coffee. Kevin, Alix and staff couldn't have done more for us - thanks for a lovely holiday!

No pool, but the beach was so close it didn't matter.

A wonderful hostal with an amazing view. We didn't expect such a great Host with a lovely Service Personal. That was always so helpful and friendly. Even if your are not planning to stay in the hostal, you should try the Restaurant, if you are in the area of Nerja:)

A wonderful 2 night stay and a new found gem for the future!

Wonderful elevated view. Spotlessly clean room with comfortable facilities and superb breakfast! Dinner in the restaurant was delicious too. Alix and her team were really friendly and welcoming. We would definitely return and recommend Hostal Avalon to our friends.

The one thing at can't be controlled is the traffic noise. It's not horrendous and it didn't detract from our stay but if you wanted complete peace and quiet it might be a bit of a problem. Having said all the positives far outweigh this one slight negative.

Excellent hotel with fabulous views

Big balcony with fabulous views to sea and mountains. Large room, comfortable bed. Very clean. Comfortable restaurant and breakfast on terrace. The food was delicious and our evening meal not only looked beautiful but tasted great too. The owner and staff were friendly helpful and professional.

I am scratching around to find anything at all. The lighting in the bedroom could have been brighter for someone older.

Quite a long way out of Nerja

Good parking facilities and restaurant.

The location was a bit isolated. You couldn’t park in Nerja as it was packed . You can get a bus bit with covid we were rather wary .

Lovely place with beautiful view

A small place with all needed facilities and beautiful balcony/Terasse with a view at the Sea. 5 minutes away by car from the city center of Nerja. Simple interior design. Air-conditioning provided. Best possible location, very close to the best beach in the area( 5-7 min walking). Best beach cause it was large, clean, not full of people and had all the needed facilities. There are other more beautiful beaches in Nerja but all of them are so terrible crowded. This one here was just perfect. Staff was nice. The Hostal has own free parking.

The hostal has a restaurant with good reviews, however we did not manage to book a table for dinner in one week.

Although we only stayed a couple of nights it was very relaxing so we will return.

Very nice hosts The room was really nice with good class bedding and matching curtains etc .The view as fantastic .Food was first class . To see three very well cared for cats in the lovely gardens was wonderful.

Humble luxury in a beautiful environment with exciting food!

The room is beautifully comfortable (including the bed and bed linen, which are normally a bugbear for me, as I am fussy about my high-quality cotton bedding at home). The staff are professional, welcoming, friendly, caring and attentive. The environment is lovely, with the beautiful gardens and view. The food is exquisite - and we are foodies, mainly vegan, all organic and used to spoiling ourselves, quality-wise - Kevin is a fine chef and takes personal pride in every plate that leaves his kitchen! This is a place we will come back to again and again.

Great views from the room and restaurant terrace. Great food. Super friendly service. Alex is a great host. I prefer this location to staying in the noisy centre of town.
