About this apartment rental
Our 13 th floor corner East tower apartment is right on the beach in Luquillo. No roads to cross to obtain beach access, simply just walk down the steps directly upon our beach. To the left is La Pared one of the hottest surfing spots on the island, to the right is La Selva one of the longest undisturbed/undeveloped coastlines in all of Puerto Rico. This gated twin building complex sits high upon a granite rock towering over the beach whose waves create a wonderful sound as they dissipate upon the sand. On-site is a gym, pool, game room for the kids, gazebo and much more. The complex offers 24 hour security and garaged parking. The unit has been decorated using only the finest furnishings. Of the 3 bedrooms two have KING Beds and the 3rd has a TWIN OVER FULL BUNK bed with a trundle. The bedrooms accommodate 8 people in total. 6 adults and 2 kids.
There are AC's in each bedroom along with a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan AC's are only in the 3 bedrooms.

We enjoyed our stay here. The pictures are accurate on the site. The check in process was easy and Mark was very responsive. The building itself is fairly run down and the balcony roof leaks. The area around the property is run down with quite a few abandoned homes and a large population of feral cats.

The view from the balcony is stunning , absolutely beautiful. Breath taking. Walk on beach very nice, but not a safe swimming beach more for surfing definitely not for small children. Beds comfortable. The condo is 40 years old and in need of many updates. No air conditioner in the common area, living room, dining kitchen area or hallway.
Hallway leading to condo needs cleaning and windows since many are missing.

I love this place. It is clean,accessible and reliable. I took my grandchildren here and they loved it. Everything that we needed for a family of 7 was available. The beds are comfortable and every room has air conditioning. We love this place and want to move in. The view from the balcony is oicture perfect and a dream for early wake ups.

The inside property was OK. The condo complex is dated, and needs repair. The safety and security was a little sketchy. Our condo was entered while we were away by guests arriving at the wrong condo. Two condos have the same entry codes and same instructions. We did not feel safe knowing someone came in with our personal belongings out. There also was no security latch on the inside of the door to prevent entry when we were there. Very uneasy, and uncomfortable.

The bedding of one bedroom smelled like sweat which should be washed well or replaced. All the furniture in the bedrooms are too old and have bad smells. Some cushions have bad smell as well. The hot tub is too old and lost paint and the shower is leaking. The horrible thing is the elevator. When the elevator goes up, it keeps shaking and the screen showed 20 floors, when we actually reached out the 13th floor.

Make sure you get the codes to get in the apartment otherwise make other arrangements plus make sure your phone will connect you need a service as in version, att, etc. The security personnel is very helpful. The neighbors are so sweet and have great tips!

Reasonable price at a convenient location with awesome view
Mark was very responsive prior to and during our trip. He provided an information package that was so comprehensive that it felt a little overwhelming. We actually liked the neighborhood and enjoyed the drinks and food that we found nearby. The view from the balcony is beautiful and the walk along the beach is quite enjoyable as well.

I had contacted the owner that this was not what he listed. Within five hours I told him we were leaving, we vacated the apartment the next day before noon never even opening a bar of soap.Nothing as picture, Area is now considered dangerous, had to pass through a biker bar to get to the garage, Advised by the guard and three other residents not to go out at night.. to get from the garage to the condo you had to go outside and walk up the hill no interior access. Condo was a disgrace, dirty, hurricane shutters closed and hidden behind blinds that were broken and would not open. No hot water in the guest bathroom. The few lamps that were in the condo were rusty and broken.All the beaches in his location there is no swimming. Within five hours we advised owner we be vacating, never opened a bar of soap and we were gone before noon the next day. Considering we were here for 7 1/2 weeks it’s been very difficult finding another place to stay, but we could not stay in that condo! We had planned to contact you and file a grievance against the owner. Within his paperwork that he sent to us there is a clause that if we were unhappy Upon arrival we had to contact him , find another place to stay and he indicated I will funds would be returned in full.. His response now is totally different since we advised him we were vacating, as per the last text his intention is to keep all of our money. We even willing to pay the hundred dollars for maid service to supposedly have cleaned the condo, which was not clean but we expect to be refunded the balance. As I said previously within 45 minutes we told him it was not as advertised and within five hours we told him we would vacate, we were gone before noon the next day!
After renting condos for over 15 years in Puerto Rico we have never had an experience As just graceful as this! I have documentation of everything I have mentioned above! We have filed a dispute with our credit card company, if there is anything you can do to assist us in being refunded our money through your agency it would be much appreciated. VRBO has always had an excellent reputation, I would hate this type of owner to impact negatively VRBO. Any assistance you can provide us would be appreciate it and if you have any further questions feel free to contact me!

Clean and Great View however somewhat Deceiving
What a great view from the balcony! The house was clean however didn’t smell very fresh. The check-in was easy even for our late arrival. The area is a little uncomfortable. Though the listing says it has air conditioning, it is only the bedrooms that does, not the kitchen or dining. The Owner called me late in the evening and disturbed me a bit. Overall the visit was alright with some room for improvement.

Great location
Let me start by telling those that read this that I am a VRBO owner so I notice things that others may not. Yes, there are a lot of keys and a lot of instructions, but if you read them closely check in is not difficult. It may be a pain carrying around all the keys, but it sure does lead to a sense of security which is nice. The owner was super responsive and I helped out a bit by replacing light bulbs (the bulbs were there), washing the silverware holders, cleaning out all of the cabinets and running the dishwasher several times. I know first hand how hard it is to keep your vacation rental clean when you are not living near your investment! So, to the next renters, you are welcome and I do hope you think about those who come after you.
There are 2 elevators in this building and 1 was inoperable during our stay and the 2nd broke with people stuck inside for 30 minutes and us carrying our luggage down the stairs 13 floors (well, the firemen helped by carrying our two heaviest bags). So, travel lightly just in case.
The A/C units are portable and in each of the 3 bedrooms so make sure you turn them on about 30 minutes before bedtime so the rooms can cool. They did not run cool enough for me but with the addition of the ceiling fans it was fine. We cleaned all the A/C filters also and if the unit is not cooling well, take a look at the filters. I am not sure if there is an HOA but it did not look like it as other condos were in terrible disrepair with pigeons living on the balconies and units with no balconies because they had crumbled.
There is everything you need here, just bring your clothes and food and you are all set!

Not impressed
First... we understand the hurricane left lasting effects on the island but.... there were smelly odors in the condo, the couch was smelly and very uncomfortable, broken deck chairs, and a tv and cable boxes that had large amounts of corrosion on the electrical connections. The facilities were barely kept operational and everything was rusty, broken or barely functional. The surrounding neighborhood is rough and we didn’t even have direct access to the beach. At night, the adjacent tower only had a few lights on which tells me that the majority of the units are not even livable. Disappointed is an understatement... a few days in I was contemplating looking for another VRBO and leaving this place ..... looking back I wish we would have.

Paradise!
Great location for a family. Enjoy the local scene while feeling totally safe. Beach is amazing. Beware of dangerous riptide directly in fromt of condo. DO NOT swim there. Plenty of great restaurants a block or two away. Locals are jncredibly friendly. Instringly sugges you try the surfing lessons at La Pared just up the beach. No experience required an all ages would have a blast.

Conveniently located between San Juan, rain forest, and ferry to the Islands. Beautiul red sands outside the condo and an amazing moon rose over the water. Would recommend staying here. Security at the building was excellent.

Great location, comfortable apartment, secure building
The building is located at the end of a beautiful undeveloped beach, yet near interesting restaurants (the kioscos are fun!). The apartment itself is well-maintained, comfortable, has all the amenities, and is quiet except for the waves and the occasional rooster. We requested a second set of keys which were delivered right away by the local rep - prompt service very much appreciated. Old San Juan is 40 min away, and water activities in Fajardo about 20, not to mention the rain forest at El Yunque only 15 min away. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay!
This condo was perfect for our family vacation. There were a total of 5 of us ranging in age from 64 - 12 and we couldn't have asked for a better place.
There was plenty of room for all of us and we never felt like we were on top of each other. The condo provided everything we needed for our stay, linens, beach chairs, patio furniture along with toys for the beach. The in-unit washer and dryer was a huge plus for us allowing us to keep up with our laundry while there.
We couldn't ask for a better location, it is within walking distance to a few restaurants and bars. The beach out front was fun for my 12 year old to play in and find for us to sit in the provided beach chairs with our feet in the water. We often went to Luquillo Beach about 5 mins away for calmer waters for floating.
Mark is an amazing owner, checking up on us to make sure we were doing ok and had everything we needed. 10/10 would definitely stay here again.
In response to some of the reviews on here that we have read, the beds were fine. They are a softer type of bed, so if you aren't used to that, it will take a little bit to get used to. The ACs worked great and kept the bedrooms nice and cool The only recommendation I would make would to may be have a stand up oscillating fan in the living room as it did get kind of toasty in there. Then again, we stayed the 3rd week in July, so it's kind of expected to get warm.

Great view and owner is very helpful and informative
We only got to stay here one night after we got off a cruise ship and the view was absolutely amazing. My wife and I sat on the balcony for a couple of hours listening to the ocean and enjoying the breeze at night. Not only the view but the amenities in the facility that were available to us to use were nice to have. The condo was very clean and Mark was the nicest guy that I have rented from through VRBO. The welcome packet was very informative about the condo and things around Puerto Rico. Gave lots of helpful tips and suggestions on where to eat and things to do. I have 4 children that we brought to his condo and Mark went out of his way to help us with making our short stay better. If I was to rent in Puerto Rico again I will highly recommend renting one of his two condos from him if you are looking for someone who cares about their guests. Thanks again Mark for your help and the use of your home.

We had a great time at the condo!!! The view is more beautiful than the pictures!!! Leatherback sea turtles nest on beach next to condo!!! Amazing large turtles!!!! Nice coffee shop near condo. Nice Board surfers restaurant/bar near condo. We took surf lessons right by condo. Lots to do within walking distance. Kids surfed LaPared beach by condo!! Brian was a great surf instructor!!! People in condo were very friendly!!! We felt very safe at condo and going out in evening!!! Condo was well equipped with necessary supplies. It was nice to have coolers and some beach toys!!!! Air condition worked great!!! WIFI worked all the time and was very good!!!! If flying to Puerto Rico you need to rent car to get to condo!! People in neighborhood very friendly!!! Enjoyed condo very much!!! A couple times elevators didn’t work but fixed promptly!!! Overall great condo and would highly recommend!!!!!!! Thanks again for allowing us to stay at condo!!!!!!!

DISAPPOINTING!
The condo was not very clean, the floors were sticky, the smell was obnoxious, the furniture was a step above frat house furnishings, chipped walls. When we contacted the owner we were told everything was fine and that it was our problem. We ended up at a hotel and the owner refused to refund us. The online photos are deceiving. This was a huge waste of money and made the start to our trip very difficult. It is always understood that when you rent from a homeowner that you are not staying at a resort. This was not a restful or comfortable place to spend a vacation. I would not recommend this to anyone. The only reason that there is a 1 star rating is due to the software requiring some input.

Great Condo, Great View, Great Location
We spent six glorious days in Luquillo, PR in April 2017. This was our first visit to the island, and we're hooked. Luquillo is the perfect combination of beach seclusion (most days we had the beach in front of the condo to ourselves) and access to everything from a grocery store to Walgreens and a Wendy's (2 minutes away by car).
The condo is comfortable and as pictured. The view is sublime. There are 5 units on the floor. With the exception of over the weekend, we had the whole place to ourselves. It does get a bit noisy when others are in their units because everyone leaves the doors open for airflow. Speaking of airflow - there is A/C in all of the bedrooms but not the main living area - which is really not needed. Opening the patio door and the main unit door cool it nicely, at least when temps are in the 80's.
The only "problem" we had with the unit was with the TV/cable. We were not able to get the cable channels to work. We had the major networks, but no cable channels. We did discover the On-Demand feature which gave us significantly more options.
Just a note: The surf in front of the unit and adjacent surfing beach was quite rough during our stay with waves in the 4 - 6 foot range. We (adults and older teens) loved playing in them, but folks with little kids might find it too rough for comfort. I would strongly suggest surfing lessons from Brian! He owns the surfing truck that parks at the surfing beach.
Two things I would suggest to the owners: at least one additional set of keys should be provided. Keys are required for everything - access to the building and beach, elevator and unit. One set of keys basically means everyone has to stay together or be locked out completely. Second is adding some additional seating in the living room (currently there is one couch - a squeeze for four adults) and the patio (only two chairs provided).
Bonus: We found everything we needed for the beach in the closets - beach towels, beach chairs, snorkeling stuff, coolers, and even a boogie board. There is also a very nicely stocked book shelf!
We would definitely recommend Luquillo and this condo to others and will be back!
