Exceptional

From the moment of arrival the experience was so pleasant. The staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. The newly renovated rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. I have no complaints.

We arrived in the dark and the road to travel to the Lodge made us a bit nervy but it was well sign posted so we found the Lodge with no issues.

the location is fine although it feels uneasy when driving through the township. the food was excellent, the surrounding is beautiful

Timeless Timeout

The Lodge is absolutely beautiful. From the entrance through the entire prop, it's clean and tranquil. You can see there is a lot of effort put into maintaining the property. The reception area is beautiful and very receiving, the cottage olate of utmost cleanliness. Linen, bathroom ,living, kitchen, everything is too perfection. There wasn't anything we needed that we didn't find there. The ladies at reception and all other staff we came across were pleasant and welcoming. You can see they enjoy being at the establishment. The view from the cottage was absolutely beautiful

The only downfall is the drive up to the Lodge from the main rain. It's gravel road with many potholes. Not very easy with a small vehicle. Also, there isn't many amenities for kids. 😞

Can’t wait to go back !!

Simply the best ❤️The staff are amazing, food is magnificent, you must try dinner there, and the rooms are spotless. This was our third visit in a year and we will keep going back 👏👏👏It really is an hidden gem in the midlands.

Relaxing Midlands Getaway

Beautiful location. Stunning scenery. Fantastic restaurant and very very good staff. Nice for running albeit rather hilly!

Veranda rooms could do with a bar fridge. Pool area could be modernised.

Amazing stay

Everything was absolutely perfect - the immaculate chalet , the amazing staff, the divine food and the breathtaking scenery. They ensure that you are warm (electric blanket, fire place). It was also my birthday weekend and they put a lovely happy birthday note and a complimentary bottle of wine in my room 🍾I was so happy by this beautiful gesture. Perfect perfect weekend in the midlands.

Exceptional

Exceeded our expectations in so many ways. The property is absolutely stunning. The staff is always helpful and smiling, the customer services was fantastic. The food was delicious and portions size was great. Extras: Loads of board games to choose from, turn down service, we came back to a fire and treats for tea every evening. Just such a special stay.

It is a bit of drive up to the lodge from the main road but definitely worth it.

The rooms where well equipped for winter, loads of firewood was supplied. Very happy with everything. Very comfortable and happy with the whole establishment.

Not to much for the kids to do but the staff where very entertaining!

Breakfast was good, and the staff opened the kitchen earlier for us on the Sunday as we had an early start. On the booking.com app it shows that you are 4.2km away from Michaelhouse, but it was in fact 17km. It's 4.2km away as the crow flies, not as you drive. I had the same issue with Gateway House...so it seem that Booking.com is getting the distances wrong.

The Lythwood is the perfect recharge getaway destination, their hospitality , location and setting make for a fantastic

.stunning views, comfortable yet modern amenities and guests are treated like old friends instead of new arrivals. each room has their own fireplace and staff take service to the next level.

Simply amazing. Definitely will be back

Absolutely friendly and amazing staff. Always ready to assist if I needed anything. It's just so peaceful and stress free. The gardens are well maintained and just so relaxing to sit and enjoy the beautiful views. My room was clean and neat and simply perfect.

Feels like staying at home - cosy and hearty!

A lovely old lodge - great big rooms, makes you feel like you are at home. Staff very friendly, lovely room with fireplace and all little details to keep you warm (it was quite cold during our weekend stay). A cosy and homely feel. Sometimes things can be a bit on the slow side, however, the quality of the home-type hearty food and friendliness certainly does make up for it. Also find it very good value for money. Will most certainly be happy to stay there again!

Perhaps a better choice of coffee in the lodge rooms, like a plunger or so, and some good music in the bar and restaurant area just to improve the ambience, but overall, it was a great stay!
