Bad experience

Nothing only staff friendly

Room very dirty, no clean , big construction in the hotel. I'm not comfortable in the room because of too much lizzard ,no reception, really I'm said ,the price expensive, no take passport or I'd??? , restaurant i try pizza not tasty make toast bread with sauce tomato . if have construction in the hotel no need to accept guest

Friendly hotel and value for money

The hotel is a charming building located right on Unawatuna Beach. The room was spacious with a large four-poster bed, mosquito net and great AC. The staff are friendly and helpful, having responded to any request.

The electronic clubbing music in the restaurant and beachfront area, all afternoon and evening. Really unnecessary as it just causes noise 'pollution' in a lovely beach spot. I don't think anyone will complain if they turn it off or select something less intrusive. I'm afraid the wifi did not work as well.

Great location. Nice staff. Sunilla is a very helpful person. Restaurant on the beach, clean bathroom.

Disco on Fridays, Saturdays around. But this is not a problem of the hotel. Nothing about the hotel

Great location in the middle of the beach, short walk to lots of great places to eat. Nice view of the beach from your room.

Bathroom was not clean. Compared to others we stayed in this was way over priced.

A wonderful experience

Wonderful hotel, the location was perfect, right on the beach and close to everything you need. The staff were all really exceptional and could not do enough to please you! We were really sad to leave this lovely friendly hotel!

Good choice on the beach.

It is right on the beach. The bed and room were comfortable. The breakfast was good. The hotel has a generator for when the power cuts out, as it did several times. There are restaurants and cafes all around.

It wasn’t really “sea view”, you cannot see the sea from the room, only from outside the room. The site and confirmation said they take credit cards, but they do not.

Nice small beach hotel

Clean room, nice retro furniture, sea view. Good location directly on the beach, simple good menu.

The service for guests on the loungers/tables could be improved.

Location and view, breakfast was good too, good selection on fruit platter although scrambled eggs were cold.

2 bulbs out of 5 not working. Lock on door not working unless you take key off electricity card. Constant noise at night from barking dogs and traffic. Stains on bed sheets.

Very nice

Very nice location with a beautiful room and view..also very good food especially The fish soup... And The milkshakes.. Very nice staff and friendly. They helped us with taxi service and Pcr.

Cough, choke, eyes watering - but a good stay none the less

This is a tough review to leave.... First, Don't stay in room 105 or 106. They have excellent views of the Indian Ocean, but they are terrible when the power goes out, and the power goes out in Sri Lanka nearly every day. These rooms 105 and 106 are above the generators that produce electricity for this hotel and the adjacent hotel. When the generators run, the fumes engulf these two rooms, making your eyes water, cough and sore throat. Eventually could cause death if there is not adequate fresh air and the generators run long enough. This is a terrible health hazard for guests. Besides that, The Villa is an excellent place to stay and good value for the money. The staff were amazing, just simply amazing. The staff went above and beyond to serve the guests. Great food at the restaurant too. The AC worked great, the rooms were clean, warm showers, and an ideal location for enjoying the beach or exploring the Galle area.

Rooms 105 and 106 are health hazards as a result of the generator fumes.

Truly wonderful stay, staff can’t do more than they did to make us welcome and comfortable.

Best location in Unawatuna and best staff. SUNIL and KAPILand manager KAPILA, all making this small Villa a beautiful retreat from impersonal large hotels. Thanks so much

Nice hotel - Description incorrect

Nice hotel on the beach with a very friendly, helpful staff. Good restaurant.

The room was dark & the "ocean view" was partly garden & partly their storage. NO OCEAN VIEW! Standard room, but description says ocean view.

Perfect

The room was excellent, hot showers, air-con. The staff went over and above to make us feel at home. Location is excellent. The breakfast is great and the food in the restaurant is also very good.
