Nice villa with great potential...needs proper management and some basic maintenance
The villa is at the top of a very steep road (car hire essential!) but has the most beautiful pool and view overlooking the sea. The outdoor area is lovely and just as it appears in the photos. The villa is nice and spacious. We found some very good restaurants close by. Nissaki has a lovely little beach and we explored other beaches too including Barbati which is close by. We really enjoyed the area and the local supermarkets were well stocked and the people very friendly.
The Villa is in need of some basic maintenance. We had to request a plumber to be called in on our first morning as 2 of the shower heads were broken and didn't work and the plug got stuck in the upstairs basin. My husband actually went to the hardware store and bought 2 new shower heads and silicon and fitted them, however they continued to be a problem as all the showers bar one in the villa are basically hand held and do not fit on the wall. Only one of the bathrooms has a proper shower that you don't have to hold. A plumber did come and he replaced a third shower head and replaced the sink plug etc. All the showers need upgrading. There were very few drinking glasses in the villa, only 3 small wine glasses and a collection of mismatched small water glasses and 6 mugs (we were 9 adults in the villa as per our booking sheet). I mentioned this to the owner/manager and the plumber unlocked a cupboard downstairs and produced 12 more small wine glasses and 6 mugs. We purchased 12 of our own large Gin and tonic glasses and bread knife (the one in the villa was broken) which we used for the duration of our holiday. We also bought a sweeping brush and a dustpan as there was nothing in the villa. The kitchen was not very well fitted out....the crockery is old and mismatched and needs upgrading. This would really make a difference and cost very little indeed as we discovered on our visit to the Jumbo store in Corfu where we purchased the glasses. When was the last time the crockery etc. was checked? On the day the cleaning service came we were locked out of the villa upon our return as they had triple locked the door. This was sorted out quickly by the owner. There were a couple of days when we had no hot water as the electric back up water system was not working. The main system is solar which is fine on a sunny day but on cloudy days does not work. I once again contacted the management and they booked the electrician to come and replace the element.

A beautiful villa that needs regular checking & upkeep.
Nissaki is a beautiful area, 40 minutes approx from the airport. I would return to the area but not to this villa. It is unsafe for young children with marble stairs and a dangerous drop from the far edge of the infinity pool. My room was on the low floor and there were unresolved issues with the toilet flush, temperature & pressure of shower & no wall attachment for the shower head. The view from the villa is superb. The walk down to the beach & lovely tavernas is pleasant if you are able-bodied and it isn’t too hot. The steep uphill walk back to the villa is tough. Would recommend car hire. A couple of local supermarkets are great for self-catering. More umbrellas & sun beds are needed. The pool maintenance guy visited once. The information in the villa stated the pool would be checked on 3 occasions during a week. I enjoyed my holiday but this villa needs some straightforward maintenance in order to be classed as 5 star.
