Exceptional

Staying at Home of Friends was a delightful experience. The staff were kind and accommodating, the property was beautiful, and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others planning a visit to Sipi.

Would definitely stay here and will recommend Home of Friends to everyone who visits!

The breakfast and dinners were great and very reasonably priced! The staff were excellent and very responsive to WhatsApp and were very accommodating when we arrived later than expected. The service was exceptional!

We loved our time here!

Wonderful views, friendly staff, and great food,

The views are great, looking out over the valley. The food was wonderful, especially the steak with mushroom sauce. Portions were large so we generally shared the main course. They recommended a wonderful guide for us--Juma--who guided us to a small coffee farm and also to Sipi Falls. Even the walk just along their side road was pleasant and interesting (and we saw some good birds along it). Their use of solar power for lights and backup warm water was helpful, given the frequent power outages.

The side road to get to their place is pretty rough, but only 5 minutes. The power outages each day were a little annoying because no internet during that time--but not their fault.

Really beautiful and peaceful setting

Home of friends was the most welcoming and friendliest establishment of our entire 20 days in Uganda. Everything was perfect and a special mention for Elizabeth, a girl who carries out her work with great professionalism, passion and great kindness. Rely on her for any advice on your tours. A special mention also for the chef who cooks fantastic pizzas that are truly superior to the good Italian pizzerias. Thank you and hope to come back in the future. Roberto e Ines

This residence, like the place where it is located, is very beautiful and scenic Very friendly Staff

We used to boil rain water as drinking water. The internet is very weak and the communication path is very difficult and muddy due to heavy rain.

10/10 Super Stay!

Location - An idyllic location within walking distance of super walks! My husband enjoyed the Run Kapchorwa challenge while I enjoyed a local hike. A short distance from Sipi, too! We went there for a day to hike the waterfalls. Room - Clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Facilities - The food here is exceptional. Breakfast, lunch and dinner could not be flawed. I had a steak after our day hiking and I think it is one of the best steaks I've ever had! If you're a foodie like me, you'll enjoy this spot! Staff - Very helpful and friendly. We booked some excursions through the property and they were a great help in doing this. Nothing was a bother for them.

We really couldn't fault our stay here, it was super value for money and we would definitely stay again!

Great place very welcoming

An oasis close to Sipi fall. only a few rooms available but clean, nice outside facilities to sit and relax. Good food, nice hikes, in summary a great place. very nice staff and helpful. we enjoyed our hike to the local falls at Kapchorwa with Romy. Daan and his wife welcomed us and made our stay special.

An excellent stay in a place that was very convenient to where I was working.

Superb hilltop location, nicely laid out. Clean room. The electric shower is backed up by solar heating, in case of power cuts, but note that the solar heated water can be very hot. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was very good.

Limited bandwidth meant that wifi was not always available. The roads to access the property were unmade and rough.

Exceptional time spent in Ugandan nature.

Wonderful and quiet place, friendly owners and staff, delicious food and comfortable rooms. Very close to Sipi Falls, Mt. Elgon and many other turistic activities. Worth to spend time here.

Exceptional

Home of friends is an exceptional place where you can not only relax but also eat very well. Home of friends is an excellent base for tours around Mt Elgon. The whole staff is friendly and accommodating, not least because of Eliza and her charisma.

The kitchen staff were kind and welcoming. The yard and view of mountains around was awesome.

The attitude of lady who checked us in (Elisa if I'm not wrong) was terrible. Since I was asking to have dinner for the group around 20:00 and we were checking in 19:30 she told me that if we don't take the dinner at 20:00, the kitchen and dining area will be closed at 21:00! The room door's lock was confusing, even my washroom didn't have a key to lock, and as I asked Elisa to bring the key for the lock, she was trying to convince me to use it without the lock, witch I was staying in the room with another friend! The shower in my room was broken and when I asked her to fix it, she just smiled at me. During check out she asked me to leave good comments on Booking.com

Great stay, recommended!

This is a very nice place to stay, with amazing value for money! The food is great, the whole place is very well kept with a lovely garden (and bonfires at night) and the rooms are very neat and tidy. Much recommended if you're going to Sipi and don't mind not staying right next to the waterfalls.

The bathroom was very small. Also, if you plan to take a tour of a local coffee plantation, try not to do it through the hotel if you can. It's convenient but they charge $15 per person, which is exorbitant compared to local price standards if you take the tour on your own.
