We told the hotel it was our honeymoon, so we got upgraded to a room with a balcony and a view of the sea. We watched scarlet macaws, toucans, monkeys and sloths from our balcony; it was magical. The staff were really helpful with regard to organising activities for us, and transport between them.
There was some confusion over what was included in the package we had paid for regarding dinners. We were told one thing at the beginning of the week, and then towards the end it changed so we could have been having more rather than being as reserved as we had been. It was then different again when we came to checking out.

The view from the room was beautiful, and our private balcony was lovely. Being on the third floor, we could see the pool and the ocean but be away from some of the restaurant noise. We appreciated being able to sign out towels for the beach and pool. The room was clean and bigger than expected. The staff were helpful and nice. The breakfast was great.
Our door didn't lock properly and the door handle broke off on our first day. We let the staff know and the handle was fixed by the time we got back, but the lock appeared to have been installed upside down and was never fixed. The lock could latch, but by simply lifting the door slightly you could unlatch it and open the door. This was a bit of a safety concern for when we were out, and didn't make us feel like our money/ passports were secure enough to leave behind.

The property was beautiful with a lovely hammock outside for relaxing. It was In a fantastic location in Puerto Viejo, easily accessible to get to the beach and town, we used bikes to get around which was incredibly useful!

Second time in this hotel!
we love the view, the nature and all the animals around there! what an experience. Even if they can be a bit lound on esrly morning.
Hotel is good, cosy, confortable and staff is very kind. I loved it all! It’s a 10/10 for me.
4.2
Cosy hotel and confortable. Stunning view!
Staff is very kind. The receptionist and the lady from the breakfast were pure joy.
I loved all the nature and animals around the hotel (mango trees, monkeys, tucans, red aras…). They made it perfect!!
4.2
Exceptional place with exceptional service! The location cannot be beat.
Some of the outdoor furniture is in poor condition.
4.2
The view is breadth taking, and the restaurant is good. However; the room is not what I was waiting for. It has in the middle a tube from the air-conditioning that was dropping. The water in the bathroom has a problem and it comes only hot, even in the toilet. The chair in the balcony is broken. The sofa is extra used and not really comfortable. And some other things, for example, the door is very difficult to close.

amazing view!

views! pool!
a few ants in the room but not terrible

spacious room; nice pool; great view; good breakfast; comfy bed and pillows; can spot a lot of wild life in the hotel; very nice staff - specially the barman
it’s on a hill (but so does almost all Manuel Antonio)

this hotel has the best of white Costa Rica has to offer. You’re in a mountainous jungle overlooking the ocean. The room we stayed in had two glass walls. It made you think that you were sleeping in a tree. The staff was very nice and accommodating. A truly unique experience. We were lucky enough to be there when the dates on a palm tree were ripe. Enjoying our breakfast on the balcony overlooking the jungle and the ocean, we watched six red macaws and a monkey eating their breakfast.

We had a great stay at Mango Moon! We saw some animals right at the hotel, including a sloth, monkeys and toucans. The room was clean with great views & the breakfast was really good too.
The rooms were great with heaps of windows, but that also meant it was very bright and there were only sheer curtains. Would have been great if the curtains were block out.
4.2
The view, the staff, the breakfast
The place has potential but the maintenance was not good at all. The room was awfully dark, the light in the shower was flickering. There were ants. The pool area wasn't not clean or inviting. Overall it was okay to stay but not good value for money.
4.2
Beautiful hotel, great ocean view and the staff was amazing.
4.2
The view is nice.
First of all we didn't get the room we booked. The room we received was about 20 sqm but it said on the website that it was 35 sqm. Also looked much better on picture. It also was suppose to be a coffee/tea maker but it wasn't. The room also smelled of mold.
When we checked into the room, towels were also missing and when we finally received them they had holes in them.
When we complained about the room, explaining that it was not the room that we had booked, that it didn't look like on picture, they were kind of rude and gave no solution or apologieses.

We loved our stay at Mango Moon, the location is so close to the National park, but tucked away from the main road with incredible views of the ocean. It had a very warm and welcoming feel, and the staff were so friendly - especially Franco the excellent bar tender! We also loved Lucky the dog 🐶
The bathroom smelled little damp but that’s all!
4.2
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was good for the five of us, and we enjoyed breakfast. The wildlife spotting from the balcony and the views were amazing - a pair of Toucans and families of monkeys every morning. We had a lovely time. Great location for several beaches, easy to get a public bus down to Manuel Antonio national park; but also lots of restaurants and cafes a short walk away.
It was a shame we couldn't all sit together at breakfast - despite having family rooms all the tables were just set for two. There isn't much space on the balcony / in the restaurant but still quite weird to not have tables set that match the guest staying in the hotel! Not a big deal though.
4.2
Great food and family friendly! We really enjoyed our stay. From the hotel and balcony we were able to see a lot of animals. The kids really enjoyed that! Good location to get around and friendly and helpful staff.
4.2
The great view and the wildlife. Also, we had expected a lousy breakfast based on the reviews, but apparently they listened to the reviews because we received a very nice breakfast buffet. Cocktails were great.
Of all the rooms, we had the less nice coati room, which had no own terrace and there was some street noise and noise from the airco. For the price of 127$/night. But still, because all of the positive elements it was worth the price.
4.2
- great location
- beautiful outlook
- friendly staff
- Too expensive compared to similar accommodations in Costa Rica

The staff was
very friendly and helpful. The room had
a place to sit so you could
look out at the ocean/jungle. 5 star views!
The breakfast buffet had fresh fruit,
yogurt, eggs etc
The bathroom and room need basic TLC.

the view was spectacular. the room was spacious and comfortable and clean. lots of visiting animals. location was great

Dinner was spectacular. Loved the spring rolls full of spices flavor and my main course was churrasco a la Florentina. Breakfast also offered variety: Gallo pinto, scrambled eggs, sausages, nice and fresh pieces of fruit (watermelon, papaya, grapes) coffee, orange juice, toasts and jams. I liked that the room had a small fridge.
My room had a bad smell coming from the shower drain, most likely because it hasn't been cleaned properly and it's clogged.
I would have loved for the room to have a small coffee maker so that I could prepare my coffee at my convenience.
4.2
Absolutely fantastic location, easy walking distance to the beach (which was key for me) and to the restaurants! My room was a great size and very comfortable - cleaned on a daily basis. I ate in the restaurant most evenings due to convenience and the food was really good, portions sizes were very big. I also tried the cocktails which were fab! All of the staff there were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. I cannot praise them enough, they helped me book trips and transportation. The wildlife you see around the property is incredible and I was woken a few times by the howler monkeys on the mango tree hanging over my room :) also the view from the restaurant was perfecto!
My only downside was the internet was a little hit and miss in my room but who needs the Internet when you’re surrounded by incredible wildlife :)
4.2
Beautiful facility beautiful ocean views and of the rainforest... staff very helpful and pleasant.
Bar closes early when little business.

AMAZING view out over the ocean, and lots of monkeys and wildlife around the hotel. Rooms are very basic, with the balcony/view being the highlight of the rooms. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It also seems like they’ve listened to feedback on breakfast, as the breakfast was wonderful and filling - drinking coffee and eating breakfast overlooking the ocean became the highlight of our day!
Nothing
