expensive halfway decent bed and breakfast
gorgeous views and quiet location
the price point after taxes does not reflect the general state of the location. We had to move rooms because the bathroom did not work, and even though the place is nice it sits between unkept and abandoned. It is a half transformed house that never managed to pull its weight to a decent B&B.

The price we paid was not what the website said.
The view, Jarabacoa is beautiful the hotel is cute.
They offered breakfast when we arrived and showed us where to wait for it. But neglected to say that their kitchen is closed and breakfast had to be ordered the night before. When we arrived the receptionist didn’t acknowledge us , while she was on the cellphone

we had a good time and thank Alan and his team for hospitality
the relaxed atmosphere, the view and the service minded owner Alan and staff. The last part up is a difficult road and we got stuck but Alan helped us out in no time, bringing us up last part and returning us to our car upon departure
shower water not hot

Awful! Worst Experience
The view.
The whole experience Was awful. The drive up the Ranch was impossible for us, after asking for help the owner was mean and not cooperating. He did not offer help with the car and as there is no food or drinks available, we should order in. But on NYE the Restaurants were closed!! The room is dirty, we had animals in the room and as it was New Years Eve they had a Party going until the morning which we did not know of. Plus no warm water. We felt not secure and lost. I would not recommend it. We shortened our stay and luckily found something else. Nightmare on a so far great Trip..

I will not return unless I stay in the places that are situated above the trees and I have a 4wd.
The view from the property is quite amazing, the view from our room was okay due to it being in the trees. The manager at the desk went out of his way to ensure we had something to eat. He gave us a menu and I paid. He ordered, picked up the food at the bottom of the road and brought it to our room. The only problem was that he got into an accident because he picked up the food at the main road, in the dark and it was raining. He was apologizing for possible damaging our food while his shoe was off completely bloody and I was concerned for his injuries. He then proceeded to want to give me the change. I told him to keep it and if I had known he was to go down that road to the main road I would have never asked him to do that. Above and beyond to make the customer happy!
The road up to the lodge is for 4 wheel drive only unless on a perfect dry day. The place didn't have any signs or indication where it was located. We knew it was up this dirt road which was vertical but if we didn't use the locals and their motorcycles we wouldn't have found it. It is the last gated driveway on the road before the road becomes a goat trail or overgrown road. It tooks us two hours to get to the property and I couldn't park at the reception due to not being able to drive out. Concrete with flat stones are slippery when wet.

Okay
The natural environement was beautiful and clean. The hotel decoration is funny and made with style and the place was very peaceful.
The only way to get any other meals than breakfast was to order them from Jarobacoa and get them delievered by motobike. There was no kitchen staff to make and serve meals. The invorenement was beautiful and meals eaten on the plastic containers didn't suit to the atmosphere. The breakfast was told to served from 8:30 to 10:00 but until 9 o'clock I couldn't see anyone in the entire hotel area. Even though we had paid for three nights we left after two because the road down to Jarobacoa was in a bad condition and dangerous so we didn't want drive the road more than necessary.
